Where did u put the file. To find out this , install any file explorer like mix plorer app and go to your file , then select it and check file info you will see exact path there . Use same path

SuperSU is so outdated now . Magisk is good . You can try using SuperSU but can't say how good it gonna perform root access now a days (atleast in newer devices)

You need to wait and unlock bootloader using pc in Xiaomi devices and later flash twrp or any image using the video ...

U don't need twrp for rooting though, if ur bootloader is unlocked. Flash magisk patched boot.img and patch vbmeta too if required (do check on XDA)
