+Thomas Isola Johnny doesn't usually play lead guitar. In the studio, they'd sometimes have to have some other guy play the lead guitar parts that you hear in their songs. Lead guitar is like the guitar solos.
+Marziano Mellow in the studio they would have some guy possibly ed stasium play the lead parts. in the live concerts you can see that they just wouldn't play the lead parts sometimes. an example is the song "don't come close" on the album, you hear the lead, but live, they don't do that. You can read all about it in the book "Ramones at 40" it will explain it better.
Love how the barrage of drums stays right on top of Johnny's Guitar. That the RAMONES FORMULA. This is very "glam" sounding tune. I can hear SWEET playing it. Now LOBOTOMY is all RAMONES, sounding completely original.
This song was written by Dee Dee and Johnny Thunder and although I love Thunder's music too, the Heartbreakers never managed to deal such a great and tight performance as the Ramones did here.
The last real one went for $5,000 on eBay. That was earlier this year. Ironic though, It was the cheapest guitar Mosrite ever made and now it goes for more than the Brass Rail which is probably the most expensive one they ever made. The Brass Rail isn't even keeping up with inflation right now.
The Mosrite Mark II Johnny played was discontinued pretty quickly, There are fewer than 200 of them and they're probably the rarest production model Mosrite, Maybe with the exception of some Brass Rail models although those aren't near as valuable right now.

Dee Dee played a lot of Bass guitars, Most were Fender Precision Basses though. I'm not sure exactly what they go for but at least two thousand. (Fender's quality was bad in the 70s and Dee Dee used some 70s models)

The Ramones version is too fast & tight. If yer singing about smack, it should be more sludgy, disheveled, & drunken. Thunders chord progression is more chunkier and lumbering, like it's stumbling and nodding out. That's more in the spirit of Chinese Rock. lol. But Dee Dee & Richard Hell wrote it, so it's more Dee Dee's.
