    When it comes to lifting steals you should give your subs a shout. I would have been quite happy to come lend some muscle to lift those.

    Great video artitect got the design wrong uprights should have been inside steel beam not at side all the weight of house is on the bolts instead of the beams

    • @laz001
      @laz001 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Wow - this is a good spot - i saw that too. Entire weight of the house supported on just 4 bolts - if they shear, the house collapses - that's really bad mistake by the structural guy.
      I've seen enough 'seconds from disaster' videos to spot a structural error.
      Hope everything has turned out OK.

    • @darrenthebuilder
      @darrenthebuilder  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @laz001 it’s not an error, that’s how it’s designed. The engineer knows how it’s designed and the building control also approve the design.

    • @markellis3648
      @markellis3648 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Definitely not an error, the weight is spread with a pyramid effect so most of the pressure is on the uprights.

    • @laz001
      @laz001 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@markellis3648 But - what’s holding the uprights ‘up’?

    • @markellis3648
      @markellis3648 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@laz001 The base is cast forming one reinforced support beam. This has also been done on the pipe bridge on the left corner.

    That’s what cranes are for. Hats off for doing it all manually. Nice idea of using the jack.
    Will they be bedded onto something or just sat on those blocks & brick?

    Applaud the ingenuity but scary AF watching. Price hiring a Hooka into the next one of these you have to do, steels would be in and bolted up in a morning. Get a beam trolley for rolling steels around on site anyway, cheaper than a day off with strains. Can also fix a scaffold tube between two trestles (use gravlok clamps) suspend a 1t chain block off tube and put a sling or two around the steel and back to a master ring with some D shackles. No stress on your bodies. Can lift and swing steels around and rest an end back down closer to final lifting position, a bit like "walking" large paving slabs. Then reposition trestles and repeat. It's a faff but safe and easy on your bodies. Even a few short scaffold tubes to slide the steels sideways or roll over even ground (ply sheets) is less stressful. Anything that removes men from being in the crash zone, when these go wrong it's career ending as a minimum, not a few days off work.
    Make sure the area your Genie is rolling around on is as level and smooth as possible. Looks like you'll need to put some blocks down and then ply over the top so the Genie clears the step made by the ground beam and existing floor.
    Love your work ethic but don't like the margins on this one. Yes we've all done it and got away with it. Until we don't.
    Stay safe fellas🤞

    I seriously do not know why health and safety has never shut you down, your sites are always unnecessarily so dirty and full of trip hazards, If you have no pride in how your work space looks how can you be trusted. Good luck trying to move the Genie lift on that messy slab they are notorious for being uncooperative at the best of times when fully ladened. Let alone when there isn't a clean surface to move them on. Look I'm not one of these people who constantly comments negatively but this has just got under my skin after watching your blogs.

    • @darrenthebuilder
      @darrenthebuilder  2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      I don’t need you to trust me tbh. Your comments are appreciated but it’s always best to engage people constructively and specially if you claim to care so much about a subject. In any event don’t stress yourself so much about things and people that don’t directly affect you. I certainly don’t. Everyone’s Out here trying to survive and provide and none of us are perfect including you. Peace
