Fallout 4 - S.P.E.C.I.A.L. book duplication glitch with Dogmeat

Max out all of your S.P.E.C.I.A.L. attributes!
This is a well known duplication glitch that applies to items as well, however most videos explaining it do not use Dogmeat, which is imo the easiest way to do it.
Fellas, as of march 2024 it still works. Like some other guy said, it works with anything that can get dropped out your inventory. However a limitation is that you can’t dupe stacks of stuff so don’t bother trying to dupe ammo unless its mini nukes or missiles or you could dupe fusion cores too I guess.
Another problem is dogmeat likes to run back inside of the truck stop so the best thing to do is build walls all around the generator and track so he’s forced to stay inside the area without being able to run off.
Something great about this is that the special books work based on your special stats in the pip boy stat section, not perk chat. So basically you can get max special and if you get a debuff you can use a book to go back to the max stat and then get rid of the debuff to be over the maximum limit. This is very easy in survival difficulty because you can get thirsty, tired, and hungry and when near the last stage it gives heavy special debuffs that you can take advantage of and then fix, you can also pop some daytrippers to further decrease your strength stat. Make sure to take off S.P.E.C.I.A.L boosting clothes before hand too though. With this done my special goes like this S:14 (-1 because of weight lifter bonus) P:13 E:14 C:13 I:14 A:11 L:13 This is without some bobble heads and no clothing of course so it has the potential to be increased further.
Confirmed it still works. Just created a new save, scrapped some parts and made the belt before leveling up.
Just ask dog meat to pick up the book as it gets near the end.

Drop the book.
Activate dogmeat
when the book is about 80% or 90% near the end tell dogmeat to pick it up and he'll do a slow walk animation then pick it up from the storage then you get 2.

Still works after next gen update. FYI if you have items equipped that add to a special stat you'll need to remove them otherwise you cant get that stat to 10.
Ex. If you have military fatigues on (+2 agility), once you get to 8 agility the option to increase agility disappears. Just unequip them and it should be able to get to 10.
Guys, this doesn’t only work with the SPECIAL book. You can do it with anything. This means if you have a really high value weapon (for example, the overseer’s guardian sells for like 1k caps, or the Big Boy which you can buy for like 10k, don’t know sell value tho) you can duplicate it to sell over and over. Yes, this also means you can duplicate things like fusion cores and ammo

@@sheogoraththedaedricprince9675 It never stopped working as far as I know. I was never able to get the workshop dupe glitch to work, if anything that was patched
That glitch still works, I used it yesterday on PC. Just have to get the timing down right.@@DingusYi
@@matthewrezuke8130 I’m on Xbox, which probably has to do with it. I’ve gotten both menus to pop up at the same time, but they both immediately disappear

Works in 2023 a few things.
1. It can be done right as you leave the vault. You just need 9 gears. 2. Which can be found scraping sanctuary and red rocket.
3. Saying get on the book as it's on the line between the straight and storage works* almost every time.
What if you already used the book
@@reggyjohnson9083 doesnt matter drop both and picki them up, usually the right one get you the "bonus" attribute.

Alright, tested it, and the one he brings to you is used, and the ones in the storage, are un-used, so you can just keep cycling with the one until you have as much as you want in the storage, then take em out and drop em all and they should all be useable
Old news but folks, you don’t even need dogmeat to do it. He just drops it at your feet so it makes it “easier”. Any normal companion can grab it and it still works. Just have to talk to them and get it out of their inventory.
here in April 2024. Doing this for the first time and it stil works on the xbox.
Yessss 2024 and it still works with weapons... tried Big boy I have it 7 times now. With the material, it's also only one piece, even if I try maybe 10 pieces, it only adds one piece... anyway, thanks a lot for the video

if i remember corectly you can do this just with dogmeat you tell him to pick it up from the ground as just as he lowers his head to pick it up, you grab it. you have to time it right but it wasent hard at all, maby its been patched i havent tested it in a long time.
100 you can, and you can do it right at the beginning of the game when you get back to shawn's room. Just did it when i started playing again after watching the show. Not sure if it matters, but i also installed the base game (off disc) without any patches.

How does the vacuum hopper dupe glitch work without Dogmeat? Ive seen it done before but can never quite get it right.

You can still dupe the book. When you dupe it it recharges the books ability.
