  • 2022 Nissan Qashqai Tekna Review: Fallen Behind Rivals?
    Crossovers and SUVs are big business on the car market in recent years and it's all thanks to this, the Nissan Qashqai. Whether you love it or hate it, you cannot deny its influence on how we buy cars. The Qashqai has now entered its third generation and in the process it has been given a complete makeover as well as a new platform which has been designed to be stiffer, more refined and more dynamic.
    The new car isn't blessed with engine choices as there are just two to choose from, both of which are a 1.3 litre turbocharged petrol. The least powerful one offers 140hp whilst the other (featured in this video) produces 158hp. There will be a 1.5 litre E-POWER hybrid version coming in the near future for those looking for something more eco friendly.

    I bought the Tekna Auto and it’s the best car I’ve ever owned.

      Hi David. I am thinking of buying the Tekna or Tekna +. A lot of mixed reviews, but I am very impressed with the new Qashqai. I think a lot of the complaints, boil down to the type of driving style. I imagine you have worked out all its little quirks now.

      @@Steve-Cross I really can’t fault the car. I bought Tekna auto and the CVT is brilliant, no complaints there. Ride is much better than the series 2 Qashqai, quieter and just a very refined drive. Around town it is great even on potholed roads. I have friends just bought Cupra Formentor and sat Ateca, both have been back to garage for this and that, and still talking about stuff not working right.

      @@Monkeybrain3721 Hi David. Thanks for your reply. A friend of mine bought a Ford Kuga and has had a few problems, mainly with grabby brakes at low-speed. He has taken that back a few times, but the problem persists. He said it's a good car apart from that, but I think he has regretted buying it, because of that problem. I have only seen one new Qashqai on the road in my area. It does look rather good in person. I'd rather trust just the word of someone who has no agenda, so I think I will put my order in. I want to support British workers as well. There is no way I could afford a Range Rover lol. So the new Qashqai fits my brief to a tee, for a spacious and comfortable long-distance Cruiser. Once again. Thank you for taking the time to reply David. Happy motoring.

    It's a great car I took they e-power tekna out for a test drive and purchased one straight away.
    They only complaint I have is the audio even if you choose the Bose sound system doesn't have a CD player

    • @CarObsession
      @CarObsession  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'll be honest Christopher, very few cars offer a CD player nowadays as let's be honest, it's an outdated medium - thanks for watching.

    The new ones are nice, I've seen a few around and that's a very nice colour. The new crv or hrv, can't recall which looks amazing as well. Big step up in design from honda.

    Good and useful review, you confirm my suspicion that the 1.3 petrol might feel a touch "weak" at the bottom end for someone coming out of an old model diesel ( new e-power looks like a more direct replacement ) The e-power also has a new larger touchscreen and new software which should address the slightly dated look of the existing setup.

    The E-power hybrid version of this Qashqai would be a great daily drivers car especially if you live in and do alot of big city driving.

    Nothing new in the flexible luggage board system, had that in my 2006 Nissan Note, it also was double sided.

    I am buying the old Tekna + for 15k Auto / Petrol and think it's worth it. This one is just way over priced.

    It looks miles behind the new Kia Sportage in every department.

    • @CarObsession
      @CarObsession  2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      I can't comment too much on the interior of the new Sportage as I've not given it a proper look, but I have seen the outside and in my opinion, it's a bit...'fussy' - a bit too much going on for me, so I think the Qashqai looks better, but design is always going to be subjective. Thanks for watching Steve.

      you will be surprized but the qashqai is better at the interior. Sportage is full of plastic and feels cheap.

      I had a look with the new Kia sportage in Glynn Hopkin Romford. Honestly the interior quality of the Nissan is so much more superior compared to the new sportage. I would compare the trim of the new sportage to the old trim of the qashqai.

      Difficult to understand how you've come to that conclusion. I can only assume that you haven't actually sampled the two in real time.
