We check out a Toro SS5000 Timecutter Zero Turn mower that the customer said would not run well under a load and looses power.
There are quite a few different symptoms of this to hard starts, loss of power and differentiating amount of times before the mower dies or the customer has an issue with it.
Many times this also is indicated by engine speed slowing when engaging the blades and not recovering
This mower would also not start because of the choke sticking but would only start on one cylinder.
This mower has the Kawasaki FR651V-BS06 engine

You're a great mechanic.
I appreciate that! Thanks for watching!!
Without even watching this video! I am going out on a limb & say blown head gasket...
Not on this one!
Thanks 😊
Thanks for watching!
Be careful when you sand the choke shaft. You do not want to create a non metered vacuum leak. The engine will run lean and hot in that case. It's much better to replace the shaft as you did if carb cleaner wont free it up. When trouble shooting, and assuming correct care and feeding, 80+ % of the time it will be fuel related. Do not overlook the fuel tank vent and fuel filter. It's a good idea to change it annually or sooner if bad gas and/or water or crap in the tank. However in this case it appears to be lack of maintenance. Big time. Rode hard and put up wet so to speak. Good job in going thru and checking everything. Thank you. Be safe.
Good tips! Thanks for watching!
You've got to be very careful when using red lock tite , it can strip the threads out of aluminum
Just re-watched that portion and you are absolutely correct! I was not clear enough on what you should be using here. It is not a Loctite red that we use. We actually use Permatex seal and lock which is basically blue strength (I think it is a little stronger) but also acts as a sealer and does not require heat to remove like a red Loctite would. Good tip! Thanks for watching!
I miss Radio Shack alot 😢
Sure had a lot of goodies
Great amount of info. I’ll look for that color of locker. We do have orange. Have you tried that?
Yeah the orange is my go to many times also! Thanks for watching!
Mine did that, after replacing everything it was the battery en the end when going up a hill under load would die or backfire
Never head of those kind of symptoms on an issue like that. Good info. Thanks for watching and sharing!
What is a part number for the diode ?? Hate to buy harness just for bad diode 😊
Thanks
Something like Briggs and Stratton 691999 wiring harness. We have some old bags of diodes that I acquired years ago that we use ocassionally
Didn't see you tighten the bolt on the bracket at the cylinder head. Maybe off camera...
Not sure which you are talking about but sure it got done St some point. Thanks for watching!
