Mechanism of Respiration||Physiology of respiration in Hindi| inspiration and expiration process || For NEET Aspirants , medical, nursing students
Mechanism of respiration involves the breathing mechanism and exchange of gases. The gaseous exchange occurs by diffusion in the alveoli. It depends upon the pressure differences between blood and tissues, or atmospheric air and blood. The exchange of gases takes place at the surface of the alveolus.
Inspiration occurs when the diaphragm and the external intercostal muscles contract.
Expiration occurs when the diaphragm and the intercostal muscles relax. The contraction or relaxation of muscles around the lungs changes the entire volume of air inside the lungs, and so does the pressure.
Breathing (or ventilation) is the process of moving air into and from the lungs to facilitate gas exchange with the internal environment, mostly to flush out carbon dioxide and bring in oxygen.
