So I decided to look up the whole Gabriel & Evangeline reference & it's really cool. They were real people. The poem by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow is based on real people & a legend but isn't all factual. I read it tho & I love the reference in this song... Johnny is such an amazing songwriter.

Seriously this is gonna sound corny af but second this song started to inflate the 1st time I heard it as the lyrics kick in and those notes hit my ear holes and it got bigger and bigger I literally felt a euphoric rush (those rare moments in musical arrangement perfection where everything is right) I stopped what I was doing and cranked the volume and then I felt like I had been missing this exact song in my life for a long long fucking time - thankfully I don’t have to wait for it anymore.
