Raw 1x: Tesla FSD 12.4.3 Drives on Wrong Side of the Road Making Left Turn

- This drive with Tesla FSD 12.4.3 was going great until it decided to drive on the wrong side of the road at 10:45
While serious, this type of thing is relatively rare. Good reminder to always supervise carefully!

Agreed...It should have been reported to tesla as a disengagement with voice recording so it gets reviewed... instead he powers through a red light by pushing the accelerator... smh.

Very strange that it would cross a double yellow line into an oncoming traffic lane to turn left. Looked pretty straight forward scenario, 2 lanes going each way divided by double yellow and the left lane can turn left, which is exactly what is shown on the screen.
If you look at the map on the screen you can see the blue line dip towards the left there before making the left turn. Went to look at it on Google Earth and seems like it's always been a 2 lane road there, so not sure if it's bad map data or what. 33°54'20.56"N, 118°25'13.47"W if you want to check it out.
@@coke4274 I agree. I have seen in other videos that it looks like bad mapping/navigation data that is telling the FSD to do X,Y,Z instead of the FSD itself.
I've had FSD do weird stuff in seemingly straightforward scenarios, repeatedly. Of course, you can't ask it "why'd ya do that?". Perpetual mystery of AI.

This wrong-lane situation looks far worst in the 1X video -- at the time the TESLA made the turn to the left-hand lane, it was not apparent that the JEEP was going to turn right. The neural net should NOT have allowed the lane change with the Jeep in clear sight -- regardless of the map data!.
No wonder they had to postpone robotaxi day lol
It is amazing except for that last part that could have been a head on collision.
My sister really needs this to be reliable so she can regain independence after a partial foot amputation.
Question: When FSD drove into an oncoming traffic lane just prior to the left turn, why didn't you disengage so you could record a VM to Tesla telling them what it just did? Driving into an oncoming traffic lane could be serious. Isn't it good to alert the Tesla FSD team to serious mistakes the car makes?
1,000,000% agreed... this is what is needed and expected of this program... instead he pushed the accelerator which overrides fsd, which would have stopped at the red light... so now, not only did fsd cross over the double yellow, it appears that it went through the red, which it did not... the driver went through the red.

its not a big deal, no cars oncoming. I might have taken the turn like that in that situation. 12.3.6 for me in Vancouver will veer off the road into parked cars at high speeds, like major critical issues. Looking forward to more of these iterations though. It'll get there.

I don’t feel comfortable being on the road near this. I didn’t sign up to be a robot beta tester. If an AI runs a red light it should not be allowed to drive on the road with other people. Needs to be higher standards for AI to be allowed to drive on public roads.
This cud be very handy if ur sick, u can just type coordinates and boom ur in hospital
