Yes it seems to have the potential to really go remote. Started editing Fraser Island today. It was all edited ready to render about to push the button crash. Just spent the last 2 hours recovering it. Now started the render. But the library shuts in 20 min. Will my charged batteries be enough. We will see!! Thank you.
Re those Aussie gum trees, many parts of Southern Europe (Sicily, Sardinia, Corsica and mainland Italy) know all about gum trees. Napoleon introduced gum trees to drain their swamps and reduce the malaria hazards. We saw whole forests of eucalypts in some parts of Sicily.
Thank you. More emotion more of a story I guess. There's the quick ride back along the sealed rd to Hawker to do. Try & get that done tonight. Then I'll start the Fraser Island series.👍
You know that the first person to ride a bike across Australia from Perth to Rockhampton, via the centre (Warburton Rd, Peterman Rd, Plenty Hwy) was a German traveler, a woman, back in about 1994. This was the one transcontinental crossing that had never been ridden by the overlander cyclists in the 1890s.
Hi Chris! Loving your videos as always. You, Iohan (RIP), and Foresty are my inspirations. Do you still use the Allpowers or have you found something better?
Thanks, I haven't used the Allpower for some time as I haven't been on a longer enough trip. My intention is to either go with a 30 watt or 50 watt new panel. Not sure which one yet. The All power can only be used once I stop to charge. Aiming to convert my bike to 29 inch wheels. The fat bike wheels are to slow for real touring in my opinion. So want to be back on the bike full time. It's got to be by next year. Cheers Chris.
@@ChrisRishworthI have added a 29x2.8 wheeler to mine so I have both options but the 29” are indeed much faster except for the really soft stuff. Thank you for the feedback!
Now that is some way back in the Never Never. Do you ever worry about your bike breaking down to the point where you'd have to walk out? Makes me wonder. But still in all, a great video. Filter water into pot with cloth, then boil? ;)
Yes of course I worry some what. With only $70 to my name out there. But I don't let stuff like that hold me back these days. You always make your way out of situations some how. I was concerned about having to leave the bike. All good great trip so glad I did it.
I could boil yes but I drink 5 litres a day & use another 2. You are supposed to boil for at least 5 mins. That would end up being at least 1 hour. If I was desperate I would have.😁
@@ChrisRishworth Hi I hear you I also do things with low funds, but as a creator of great content maybe get onto this it could sponsor some great rides for us to watch.. cheers www.patreon.com/
Thank you. It's hard to tell. With the green slime that seals the punture as quick as you get it. My tyre pressure would go low a sign I had a punture. Lots but only had to add air as it got low.
I would up getting a 12 volt lithium alarm battery with a 2port 12-24 volt USB converter Solar straight in via Anderson plugs, powers my lights, phone and soon to run a miniature fridge
Fantastic thanks chris lying in hospital watching this ty
Thank you. Hope you get better soon.
@@ChrisRishworth thanks sure hope so iv a bike ride planned for 2nd of june though i may have to postpone a week or two
Rendering the 6 episode now 11 min long. So while you are stuck for now some inspiration to watch. Hospital I don't like either.
@@ChrisRishworth i love all your videos as you know
You really are getting yourself into some seriously remote places with your new fat bike. Another great upload.

Epic spellbinding video, you have me wanting a fAt bike to meander a sunburnt country, inspiring and uplifting thank you.
Thank you for the nice words. Good to show different places not many bikes could get to. If any have before ?.
You can explore much of this sort of country with a regular rigid MTB with 2” or 2.15” tyres. It is accessible.
Luv to see your camping setup:)
I'll try to in the next bikepacking adventure in a weeks time.
Another great video Chris! Thanks!
Thank you. Glad you liked it.

Love your videos Chris, thanks for sharing with us.
Thank you. Fraser Island series starts in a couple of days.
I really enjoyed this episode. Great scenery. You’re definitely loving the fat bike and the joy is baked into this episode.
Thanks. The Fat bicycle opens up opportunities I couldn't do before.
This is a great video, Chris! The way is a bit stony from time to time... 😉 but your fat bike does a great job! 👍

Mate great series on the Flinders, how many punctures did you end up with on the whole trip? Anyway great job mate!!

It would be nice if you wrote what country/ state/ Provence you are touring in.
"Google it mate" Flinders Ranges are in South Australia:)
