    Jumping around in Space Engine and visiting every star in the video was fun with your voice over. Space engine gave AEgir rings if you can believe it.
    Thanks for the timestamps they helped a lot.
    And yes I would like it to continue. But I also understand that the number of stars in each shell rises with the cube of the distance so I am not made if you leave it at 3

    This particular series (or whatever you want to call them) has been my all time favorite astronomy videos of any kind, ever, and I've been watching astronomy videos since I started watching television back in the 60s.. I cannot thank you enough for taking the immense amounts of time to create them.
    Highly speculative astronomy I find somewhat irritating and tiresome. But good, old fashioned, practical, "hard", just-the-facts-ma'am astronomy is the stuff that dreams are made of. This is wonderful. Please continue. And thank you ten thousand times!

  • @mhammond4849
    @mhammond4849 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    AWESOME!!! (A much deserved exaltation.... I've always enjoyed your methods of presentation, especially regarding the history of and the men behind the discovery of these stars---this stands head and shoulders above every astronomer-made video I've seen on the youtube).
    I wouldn't be surprised that someone, somewhere, after seeing you "You Are Here" videos, might be inspired to find more detail on those stars you (and your friend) found little information on---with all the stuff that exists on the internet, there is so much out there that is not.

To my ears, your narration sounds like it was done by an old school journalist. Someone whom you trust. It's not as useful as you might think. See this example here:
      stars.chromeexperiments.com/
      There's no background in space, so nothing to give a sense of perspective. I think the best help would be to just look at a list of the nearest stars:

    Oh my stars and garters, *NICK'S BACK!* PARTY TONIGHT, DUDES! This is better than Loki or Rick & Morty this summer, so I'm gonna get something to drink and get comfy... brb...
    EDIT: A few observations:
    1) Utterly superb. I'm as happy as an eager young space cadet after watching this.
    2) I thought New Horizons was moving faster than Voyager 1, but I've been sadly mistaken for years and years, NH ≈ 13KPS vs V1 ≈ 17KPS.
    3) How do exoplanet hunters differentiate the luminosity shifts of sunspots from those of planetary transits?
    4) I was going to say that Helium Planets are no laughing matter... then I remembered Helium is NOT the laughing gas, but the one that makes you sound like a chipmunk... which makes everyone around laugh.
    5) "I think I'll stop here"... you bastard! You're as bad as Loki! Worse!
