Boy With Luv comes from the album Map of the Soul Persona so BTS wants to bring in the album's central theme which is the psychology of Karl Jung. Halsey is placed in the mv to represent Jung's concept of the Anima, The Anima in males/Animus in females are parts of the unconscious psyche which hold characteristics of the opposite sex. They are integral to the overall makeup of the human Psyche. For Jung true happiness occurs when we accept all aspects of our being. BTS dances with their Anima (Halsey) often dressed in gender ambiguous clothing while doing so. Halsey as we encounter her serves as a music video representation and not as a lyrical feature. So perhaps the word feature only is used to show respect to her as an artist and not provide her a distinct solo. As BTS and Halsey remain quite close, I think it is safe to say she was quite comfortable in this role. Halsey has been known to challenge the eye when it comes to sexuality issues, so I think her role as a visual representation was a comfortable one for her.
