To save you a watch: Detroit got an A++ for their record breaking season this year! Congrats to the Pistons and good luck drafting Caitlin Clark with the 2024 #1 overall pick
Nets deserve an F. Passed on 4 firsts + Jalen Green for Mikal and 2 firsts for DFS. Only won 31 wins and they don’t even have their pick in this year’s draft
I can agree with that. Idk why you wouldn't take a younger player, even if he's "worse" when it comes with 4 1s. Yeah, Mikal is really damn good, but you get a true rebuild with those pics from a bad team. Even if they fall out of the lottery, they're still a better supplement. And 2 1s for DFS I didn't hear about, but that's a kind of aging role player that helps win games. I don't see anybody offering more than 2 1s so what are you holding out for? To check the fit with Benjamin Simmons?
That trade is such a bad look tho. Those 4 picks are your own picks, so essentially you’re coming full circle from the James Harden trade to have some of your own picks back and absolutely stink. Jalen Green wasn’t even that good this year until after the all star break.
We actually have by far the worst front office in the league, I feel bad for the players cos they gotta know there’s no way this team becomes good in the next few years
Spurs couldn’t be happier. Wemby was a hit. They went in a tanking team to get more assets and succeeded in that. Why would they want to get one game better how would that help them? It’s still a rebuild and showed their talent by finishing 7-4 including a win over the nuggets who needed to win to get 1 seed. Their season could not have gone better for them.
As a Heat fan, Bud should be brought back to coach the Bucks. He deserves another chance cause his brother passed away during the Bucks v Heat series. How Jimmy played that series was actually MJ caliber. Justice for Bud!✊
I'm biased as a nuggets fan, but all things considered, I'm giving this season an A+. Despite missing Jamal for 23 games, AG dealing with heel problems and getting mauled by his dog, KCP's fingers being as durable as Greg Oden along with some hamstring issues, Jokic having back and wrist issues, AND having the most dense schedule to start the season of any finals winning team since the late '60s, we've matched our franchise high in wins, Jokic is about to win his third mvp, MPJ played 81 games after having 3 major back surgeries, and we have a great path to the finals that avoids the wolves (assuming the suns continue to be a matchup nightmare for them)
You guys are the 2 seed, the wolves are the 3 seed. You don’t avoid the wolves at all, it’s the second round matchup. The nuggets finals path is like going to be Lakers, Wolves, Thunder/Mavs.
@eliyarrows2456 You're right, I was tripping, and we would play them, but the sun's are a nightmare for the wolves, and Ant has a crazy bad record against them (I think it's like 1-11) so I'm hoping the sun's take care of them for us
Nuggets fan as well, but I think I’d give an A or A-. It’s just hard to see them be so damn dominant in the playoffs and then drop games like the spurs last week or all the rockets losses
Somewhat irrelevant especially this year, but the winner of the in-season tournament should get an automatic tie-break for playoff seeding. They are literally winning an extra game
This is a genius idea. It creates a tangible reward for winning the in season tournament without causing teams to be able to coast after winning the ist(if you have them an auto playoff bid for example.
Honestly the Lakers should get a d-f I remember in free agency everyone was saying they won free agency and they were gonna be a great team just to be the 8 seed in the play in
As a spurs Fan I have to give the season a c+ and the reason being is out of those 22 wins, 11 wins came against playoff teams and out of the 11 games 5 of those games came from beating the top 3 seeds in each conference. Majority of the games we played against playoff teams it came down to the last 2 mins. The point I'm trying to make is the Spurs lost a lot of games in the final 2 mins and that's from being the youngest team in ball. Kenny love the videos keep up the great work. Spurs making the playoffs next year 1000%
The Spurs started a guy who’s never played PG in his life in Sochan for 35 games lol with Tre Jones we were on pace for 35 wins & guys like Keldon Johnson, Malaki Branham, Zach Collins were expected to be much better compared to last season but underperformed heavily while trying to get adjusted to Victor all at the same time
C is fair for the grizzlies considering the Season. Injuries stopped any chance of the playoffs but now they discovered GG and Vince are great small forwards which was a position they were in need of depth honestly.
Knicks had a great season, probably deserve an A+, but they were projected to be a playoff team and were a non-play-in playoff team last year and have been exactly that this year. We got teams that were expected to miss the playoffs entirely that were top 6 seeds.
This season might be the largest gap between the east & west ever, the Mavs would be the 2 seed in the east right now & just about every other seed on the west would move up 2 spots in the east
One thing Kenny forgot to mention that should’ve heavily swayed Kenny’s score imo, is that kings were the 3rd seed 81 games into the szn before falling into the play in, 81 games…
Feel like it’s crazy that Kenny mentions how the Lakers were like 25-25 earlier in the season but people always be forgetting how far back the Warriors were. They had one of the best records in all of basketball over the last 2.5 months just to make the play-in.
I know the Suns had injuries but I think they are getting some generosity from the end of their schedule being hard, when there schedule for the year was about as hard as everyone else, they just fumbled the start hard. Go rewatch predictions for the year, most people had them as a top 3 seed, and the consensus inner circle contenders going into the year were the Celtics, Bucks, Nuggets, and Suns. They avoided the play in, but damn it was close, for a team that had only slightly worse expectations than Denver, IDK how they can get such a similar grade when they were much worse. Other than that I mostly agree
As a heat fan, our season is at a C level, but I feel that no one is acknowledging our injury troubles. We rolled out the third most starting lineups this season, only behind the grizzlies and blazers. Jimmy missed 22 games, Bam missed 11, Herro missed 40, Caleb Martin and Duncan Robinson combined for 32 missed games. I firmly believe if we had stayed even partially more healthy, we wouldn't have went on those 2 7 game losing streaks and would have safely been the 2nd or 3rd seed in the east.
I disagree with what you said about the warriors , yes they were one game away from missing the playoffs but they were adjusting to all their old players getting worse except for Steph curry , the new rookies looked phenomenal and can’t wait to see what they do in a playoff like atmosphere
good list...i have some different values and grades... knicks are an A+, because they where better than expected and did all the good moves close to deadline to be even better. And Portland is an E for me. You are on a rebuild with Scoot, Simons and Sharpe...but at the same time you are not because of Brogdan, Grant and Thybulle... they should have gotten some draft picks or young talents. Yes you need vets..but they shouldn´t be the stars in an rebuild... i would prefer an 21W Season with giving the young talents all the minutes.
Grizzlies should have an incomplete rating, if it's based on preseason expectations. On top of the Ja suspension they lost a key starter for the season before the season even started (Adams) with another rotational piece being out for a very lengthy period of time and that was only the beginning. Constantly battling injuries with half or more of their rotation out and losing Bane/Ja later as well due to injuries. No team would be able to recover from that number of injuries.
Doc Rivers being thought of as a top 15 coach of all time might be one of the most ridiculous jokes in NBA history. Put any random coach in his place on any team throughout his career and the team would perform at the same level or better.
I'd say denver gets at least an A;, they matched last years win total, were one Wemby explosion game away from 1st in the super competitive west, jamal got injured in the last stretch, and there were questions of how'd they fair without bruce brown n a bit of uncle Jeff. It was a fun season n no team wants to seem them in a 7 game series
I don’t know about you guys, but I was hoping that Kenny was going to talk about Collin Sexton just for a second because he is one of the most underrated plays in the league
Only one I disagree with is the Spurs. Just because of the amazing job they did with the development of Wemby He didn't want to play center, they listened and let him try (also a good way to tank for this season). Then made him do the switch and showed he will not be limited to traditional center role even playing at the 5. Found reasons to justify limiting his minutes to let him get in NBA shape. And after the all star break it's all good.
I would probably give the Spurs a B+. I didn't expect them to make the playoffs so I throw the record out the window. they made it through the whole season without any major career threatening injury to Wemby which I think is an accomplishment in itself. vasselle has stepped up as a consistent and reliable scorer. and I think people miss the big picture when hating on the point Jeremy experiment… but the point of that wasn't to make Jeremy the full-time point guard, it was to train him in playmaking skills that he could later take to the forward position… Where he's looking really good in the last few weeks before he got hurt. in a very real way his stint as a failed starting point guard is going to do wonders for his versatility in the years to come as a forward.
As a Celtics fan who’s watched 95% of all games this season, I still have a feeling you’ve seen more Celtics basketball than me 😂 but that’s why you’re the goat. Much love Kenny 🔥🔥
Pretty solid grades overall. Only team I really disagree with is Portland. They were absolutely decimated by injuries all year. Yes Scoot started off terrible but he looked great towards the end of the year. Ayton averaged 23 and 12 the last 3 months on 60% shooting. Camara showed that he has potential to be an elite defender in the league as well. So overall not accounting for injury yeah a D+ or C- would make sense. But with the cards they were dealt I’d say a C+ or B-
Pelicans going 0-22 when trailing at the start of the 4th quarter was not a fun experience as a fan. Wouldn’t be surprised if we lose two play-in games which would make this season an F considering we had like 70 games with Zion
Bulls D-? What? As a bulls fan, they’re low and mid, but not a D-. The bulls started 5-14, then went on like a 32-28 record I think. And we learned so much with Coby Ayo and even Julian Phillips, bitim, etc
If you're basing it on expectations, Mavs are A+++ squared Nba's website polled it's writers preseason and none of them had Mavs even in the play-in. Power rankings had them between 15-19 too That's with being top 5 in injuries
As a cavs fan i agree with a C.. basically 3 different grades.. starting with Allen and Garland hurt, then mobley and garland, then post allstar break.. went from a C to an A to a D... So C is very fair
I feel the Jazz could easily make the play in, Ainge and management has completely taken the wheels out from under them though. Talent and coaching was there, at least at the deadline. Hard to watch that second half
Ngl I'm not even mad about where our Pistons are. We played 28 different players (3rd highest mark in league history). The league was tough this year and we had SO many injuries to start the season, it was an imperfect storm of the highest order. I think we saw a lot of good things from our young talent. I believe in Cade, Ivey, Duren long-term. Hot take, we should trade Ausar while his stock is extremely high (I don't think he'll ever shoot well enough to play on the wing next to Duren). We can get a ton for him right now, I'd like Lauri from Utah. You can't win 14 games and get anything higher than an F. #kennythe GOAT
Kenny hear me out on this Atlanta Hawks thing: 1. defense, is also coming from offense. A fluid and well ran offense will means less turnover/ miss shots, meaning people would get back in a better form and would have less fast break/ second break opportunity for the other team. Also when you cook, the moral and effort will be higher, and if u miss or doesnt score well, u would be frustrated. this applies on any level and its apparent. 2. now to their offense, you just CANNOT, i think that none of the medias, including yall understand that PEOPLE SKILLSET OVERLAPS. If u talk about stats and this and that, yea u can say whatever. But the simple fact that Trae young is a point guard that should be handling the ball ala chrispaul doing the pick and rolls and being Point of Attack, and dejounte whos also doing the same thing. you just cannot. This applies to the suns who has a 3 Shooting guard lineups as well. that is why they are struggling , and not where they should be if we talk about individual stats and accolades. Beal is the one that has any hope of changing his approach to not make it overlapping. Kd book already take any shots when they are open, now beal is trying to get in the paint everytime, something the other 2 wont do. 2 guys can take whatever shots, but the other 3 cannot settle. Now back to trae young and dejounte, theres an example where 2 Point Guards starting lineup is working , which is the Mavs. What did it take? 2 All star starter PG player with the most complete skillsets , ever. Luka and kyrie. Onball, offball, they can just adjust because they are damn skilled and offensively versatile.

Another W vid from Kenny
2024 and people still calling Quin Snyder a defensive mastermind
“Maybe you’ve been paying more attention then me” tryna look cool like youn be glued to the tv everyday for 10 games 😭 jus be yourself bro
kenny in the memphis😂😂😂😂
And he’s back
Adrian Griffin would've never been fired if he didn't have that incident with Stotts before the season
Could’ve made a video on all the matchups already
bro though we wouldn't realize that he graded the teams in the order that 2k orders the teams in their rosters
Kenny hear me out on this Atlanta Hawks thing:
1. defense, is also coming from offense.
I'm a bucks fan and trust me, doc Rivers is the main reason we losing. We was winning more games w/o him
As a mavs fan thanks for giving them an A
Kenny 24 A+ espn appearances
