Hi David thank you so much for featuring me and my collars on your vlog! Just to clarify the paint I use on the collars is specialist leather paint not enamel, so it is flexible and extremely durable... 😁 Thank you for supporting small businesses in the boating community - it really is appreciated!
I think your channel has the best name and best content out of all the other narrowboat channels. You're my Rick Steves or Bob Ross of narrowboats. Cheers.
All very beautiful crafts well done. What I dislike is the tariffs and costs of shipping to the colonies . I think we the colonies and mother England should not tax each other's products. I may be called a cheap Bas tard or thrifty to a fault . But after you pay shipping and taxes a item which costs approximately $10.00 u.s. dollar will cost over $30.00 just in these fees. Cheers and keep well . A suggestion for a product you might sell is a wool style cap with a cruising the cut logo. Colors evergreen, med blue, international orange and red.
Thank you for sharing and not shilling your own memorabilia. It lends great credibility that you are are trying to support the entire narrowboat community. You are very much in the spirit of the holiday season.
Yep, as a pensioner with a bad diagnosis and a short outlook on life available, I support all those who help me enjoy my days. Good luck. spud. No pennies here.
Just a quick comment to applaud you for shout out to all the artists as someone's the artistic disposition, humbled by you sharing the talent of the artistic community!
Just another example of your entirely unique world...! Christmas 2020 will indeed go down in history. I have truly enjoyed your channel and watching life through your eyes. Your level of humility is so appreciated. Also, it is like each episode is educational and relaxing to watch. In the TH-cam world your uniqueness is palpable. Thank you for staying the course. Wishing you a relaxing and enjoyable Holiday Season. Thanks for all you do for the overall good of your viewers. You are very much appreciated all over the globe.....!
Glancing through comments, someone else gave you a warm hurrah, but I wish to do so as well. How wonderful and magnanimous of you to share your editing time to help out other narrow boaters who do such wonderful work. I'll have to.... no.... want to watch this vlog edition a couple times so I can pick out a few items to support such wonderful artists. I also congratulate your cleverness for a concept for a vid-i-blog when canal travel is becoming rather unseasonal and a hearty activity.... 3/4 hot tea and scones and 1/4 really heavy coat and insulated pants. Bottom line..... VERY WELL DONE MY GOOD SIR!!
I lost my job of 18 years when the pandemic began as I am in the service industry. I just wanted to thank you for recognizing what an impact that can have on a person. It feels devastating and it's compounded even more living in S.F., Ca. because the majority of people here are very "financially comfortable" tech workers who are living their lives like nothing has happened. It feels quite alienating and depressing. Thank you.
i so enjoyed this, wonderful gifts, it is great to have people that share their lives with us who do not have one. I try not to miss a single one of the Cruising The Cut.
I really like your sit down videos , feels like I’m having a good chat with a friend ( a friend who won’t let me talk but that’s besides the point 😉 ) Shout out to all artists creating work on the cut , The hippie boat is a favourite of mine for clothes !
David, I say this in all sincerity, if you were in charge of this country's economy, the prosperity of the UK would increase immeasurably. You have a natural entrepreneurial gift.
GOOD ON YOU! Another important part of narrow boat history has always been commerce first and foremost! Plus, so MANY OF US do appreciate an earlier and longer dose of the Holiday Spirit.
Not the first nor only narrowboat channel I subscribe to, but without a doubt the best. Your video titles are a masterwork in themselves, before even mentioning top quality video, editing, and content. I genuinely start to feel agitated after a few days without a new upload. I can’t thank you enough for all the knowledge and smiles you have given me. More importantly you have inspired my not too distant post-retirement life. Thank you, David. Cheers from (for now) California, USA. P.S. I will be buying some items from some of these narrowboat businesses, I think it’s great to support the community!
I've already purchased a Paul Smith print. All of the originals were sold. & a Jo & Michael Canal Map, and a poster by Barry since watching your video. I wanted the metal key hanger and a hand carved (lock gate) salt spoon, but they do not ship to USA. Great salesman ship David!
Great idea for a video, and absolutely splendid to promote the 'cottage' industry of crafts from the canals. Thanks for providing some excellent gifting ideas. Cheers!
Good for you! This is the kind of mutual support that we all need to be giving and receiving. And oh, lets not forget about that guy selling the pillow shown the background...:)
For those of us who can't regularly support their favourite narrowboat boaters what a smashing way of supporting their vloggers'. Thank you, David. Keep safe. Stephen
How thoughtful of you to post this vlog to help out the narrowboat entrepreneurs. I discovered the narrowboat experience on youtube only a few months ago when I was laid-off from my job this summer due to covid. I sense that it is a lovely community, quite close-knit. You are all so blessed.
What a lovely vlog! I’m really struggling this Christmas to think how I can do my Christmas shopping, so this was really timely. Love how you support your fellows on the cut.
Thanks for being you, David. You always bring smiles and laughter to me and the misses. Blessings to you and yours this holiday season. Oh the heck with it! MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
David you have done a cracking job doing the promo's. Small businesses need all the support going. Especially now the dreaded Covid is doing a second round. Many thanks to you for showing your support. I can imagine that the only thing that you cook, is toasted cheese sandwiches? All the best - Fletch -
As ever another first class video from CTC Productions Inc. ! My favourite piece of the ones you showed was the metal kingfisher key holder - simply fabulous ! Thanks David & stay safe.
Thank you for this glimpse into the art of the waterways. There were several things that will make good gifts for people on my list. For myself, though, I'm particularly intrigued by the map from Minimal List...thinking that it will look nice in a frame on the library wall, right next to the London Underground map. 😊
How very kind of you David to promote these people's work. Will start looking asap. I'm glad you've got a windows holder make sure you use it and take care on those set slippy lock ladders we don't want to lose you you know!!.
Thank you for your gift recommendations, David! I treated myself to my own print of Kevin the octopus 🐙 😍 I love Lizbef's painting style and use of color. I hope to add more of her prints to my walls very soon.
Well done Mr CC. I've just bought an octopus print. Really appreciate you supporting floating traders and have found the perfect gift for my new 'son in law'!
This was a wonderful episode. The merchandise you featured truly are beautiful. You also reminded me I should get moving on sending cards to my English friends. It takes a bit to get there from Michigan.
@@CruisingTheCut oh it’s all good, I have other options.. just no fun to mostly put my art on hold. It will be alright though. It’s all going to be okay.
You are so kind to feature artists....did you know when anyone buys our art we do a happy dance!?? Does Neiman Marcus do that or Harrod's? I think not🥰Anyway, I am an artist in SC in the states and augment my income making Steampunk/Boho Jewellry. I have taken note of your featured artists and thank you again💖 ⚜VintageMo⚜
Nice gift ideas indeed. All made by talented people and fine artists. Thanks for showing the items and sharing the links. I find this very useful at this time of the year. Greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much for this video. Truly enjoyed seeing how talented they are. Watching the Narrowboat videos are my favorite. You have a great day, be safe and take care!
So wonderful of you to be supporting your friends and community! Good on you! The horse shoe art was my favorite. I have a pumpkin made of horse shoes I picked up years ago at a craft show here in the states and its my favorite fall decoration.
😂😂😂 - Welcome to the countryside, o city dweller! The 'wellington boot remover' is actually a boot jack and used the other way round. Anyways - love your support for those who need it in this day and age...! 👍
Some lovely original and quirky gift ideas here. I remember as a very young lad, in the early days of ITV, programmes called 'ad mags' and this video reminds me of those. Showing my age now!
OH THIS WAS FANTASTIC !! I think you should do these more often if you can gather the material. It is such a treat having it all in one place like this. I too like your painting. Well done !!
That is so good of you to highlight these talents. I thoroughly enjoy your vlogs. Great to see your keeping well. I’m so inspired to look out for the narrow boaters near me now, to be selling their wares. Thank you take care x
Nice work Dave. I have actually had, family asking me what I'd like for Xmas. I just can't describe there faces when I linked this lovely video to them. Good work again mate. As always thankyou for sharing.

Once more, well done David and a very thoughtful video. Also very elegant not to feature your very own items but we all know you have beautiful mugs, cushions and other lovely items. We came across Roving Traders a few years ago on one of our first cruises when we, by a happy coincidence, shared the Hatton locks with Sue Meades on 'Tis Driculous, I think she is even the president of their association. At the time she and her husband Colin were trading as Mugs Afloat selling -- you guessed it -- bespoke mugs, now she also has Cheese Aboard, no I won't divulge what this is about :-) We have the most wonderful mugs with our boat's logo on board -- and they make excellent souvenirs for guests / family who spend time on board. And their cheeses are excellent. We can also vouch for artbyannamarie, we have a lovely watercolour of us on our boat from them, as well as the maps and T-shirts of Minimal List, excellent service. It is also good when from time to time one can buy items from boat traders, as from the boat selling Lancashire cheese -- such lovely people, our tillerpins from a boat we crossed in Alre...(what? :-), fenders and ropes, jams and chutneys from Helen and Andy Tidy's The Jam Butty, the list is thankfully long... Next on our list is a certain Cruising the Cut :-)

I think it's wonderful that you did this video publicizing canal crafters.
