Your perseverance through the highs, lows and shifts of this journey in bbq, cooking and overall life is inspiring fam. You are taking in the dream and refusing to shy away from the complexity that comes with such a major decision. We ain't going nowhere fam. We'll keep checking in on you and believing for the best for you in the years to come. Here's to you Joe!
Bro I've been in barbecue since before I was born and just watching your videos and watching you grow with all the others has been great and I've learned tons myself
Hey Joe, you have been a great help and inspired me to make better BBQ by simple techniques. With that said, your prime rib video really helped me hit it out of the park and my family loved it. Hope your next chapter fulfills you and brings you much joy!
Welcome to NYC! I've been going to Hill Country since they opened. It's changed a lot over the years with its ups and downs. I hope you bring some new energy to the place. Congrats on the new job and best of luck!
Peace and love Joe. I hope you enjoy every moment of your new journey. Who knows where you’ll be in another 10 years but enjoying the ride is the point of it all.
I really love you’re honesty and your vulnerability. No matter where life takes you and no matter how many videos you put out, I’m here for it! And I’m sure I can speak for a majority of people here. I will be praying for you and your family. And I will be praying that you can find peace and joy in everything that you do. Just keep grinding man! You’re a big inspiration for me to pursue bbq and food in general. Love ya Joe!
I'm sorry to hear about your grandfather, my younger brother passed away from an accident at home. Hope all goes well in New York, and as they say.. "show them what you can do, and have fun while doing it."😊
Your authenticity and constant drive to challenge yourself to grow and improve is so inspiring. I'm hope the very best for you in this next chapter, and am excited for what opportunities await you. Thanks for sharing👍😊
It's been cool watching your journey. I've learned a lot from you, Brad and Jeremy. I wish you more happiness and success than you ever thought possible. Looking forward to the new videos.
Sounds like an amazing opportunity and a great chance to learn other aspects of your food passion. Keep up the good work Joe, we will always be here when you come back.
I appreciate your transparency through all your struggles and your successes. Sending positive vibes your way, might Joe Yim. Wishing you best of luck in your new adventures. I know you will kill it. You got the knowledge and work ethic. Take care brother.
Just as you did in Texas I hope you take good experiences from the east coast. Here in Sactown is where Farm to Fork was spawned. Local chefs use their talent and imagination to come up with the most amazing food utilizing locally grown sustainable ingredients. Good luck Joe!
Love your channel and I appreciate your authenticity, integrity and your journey. It’s human. Real. And a thoughtful commentary on how we learn and grow. I support you and look forward to seeing what you have going on… regardless. Peace 🙏
Awesome. I was thinking about you just the other day and wondering where you were. Best wishes and look forward to seeing your next adventure be amazing. Good luck and patiently waiting for your next video. Keep them coming.
I wish you all the best in this new chapter of your life. You're one of the good ones, Mighty Joe, and you're the kind of person who is going to make a difference wherever you are. Onward and upward.
Evan used to work at Hill Country back in the day, right? Small world! Wishing you all the best in NYC and hope that the new job is a great experience for you.
Good to hear you are at Hill Country in NYC. I found their brisket is better than their DC location. I suspect that time Aaron Franklin cooked there may have something to do with that.
Good video, and congrats on the new gig. It'll be interesting working for a franchise like Hill Country. We have one here in DC and it's pretty good! Funny, I can see people like Guga and Sam thoroughly enjoys making TH-cam videos. I think Brad likes it, but it is a job for him. I am getting into creating content, it is a lot of work! And I just make TikToks and shorts. A 10 minute video is work! With a full time job, I can't make them. At any rate, good luck man. I enjoy your videos.
I can't wait to see ya future videos man but do it at your own pace. You already have a following and we just enjoy you and your content. Take care my dude
Joe, Best of luck in your new endeavors in NYC! Don’t forget to explore the other Burroughs, especially Queens and Brooklyn. Were you able to bring your pit? Can’t wait to see you share your new experiences in NY. Just don’t sell out and become a Yankees, Giants, or Knicks fan! 😂
Thanks for the video, youtube is harder than most think. It's cool with your journey, been in my career field for 20 years plus. To think back to the start is mind-blowing, you're only 10 years in with a bright future. Keep up the hard work it will pay off, it might not seem like it but it will.
thank you for all the knowledge you have provided and good luck on your new adventure. we will still be here when you do post new videos. mixing up bbq with different cuisine is a great way to show that there is no one way to cook. I wish i would seen you and talked to you at windy city smokeout this year but maybe next year . have fun at your new job
Welcome back Joe!!! Definitely missed your content, but best wishes in NY. Here's an idea, you master NY pizza and you already know BBQ and come back to Bloomington IL where we don't have either. Save me!!!!!!!!
Wow, sounds like you’re in my neck of the woods (in Jersey commuting to Manhattan). I think Hill Country will be lucky to have you! Haven’t been there in years and had no plans on going back until now.
You said a lot. What I heard is you are living life on life terms. We can't predict what's gonna happen or when it's gonna happen, but we can be willing enough to change and grow. That's exactly what it sounds like you are doing. Good luck and BTW plan for the future, but live for the day...🙏🏿
Gr8 stuff MJY, keep grinding. Been to HCM hope you make it better it’s a large space which needs to be filled. Go have L8 night cart food from Halala Guys on 6th and 53rd. From a fellow Chi towner, Gr8 things can be found in small places in NYC -Str8
Best of luck, Joe. No doubt you’ll crush it at the new place. Just post videos whenever you can. Subs aren’t going anywhere. How is the food coming off a rotisserie versus an offset? Has that been a learning curve? I would imagine so, could be just me, but most places with a rotisserie I find I miss that deep bark from the higher convection of an offset and the flavor. But, no doubt you will close the gap and pump out great BBQ.
Congrats on the move and looking forward to the next chapter! Also, did you move your Primative Pits 250 to New York as well? You got a place to store it…..
Would you ever consider owning/co owning your own bbq place, whether it be a brick and mortar or permanent pop up style, should the opportunity present itself?
Take it from a 60+ year old guy...don't live your life to make others happy, live your life to make YOU happy...FOLLOW YOUR PASSION! Best of luck to you!
Happy to see you are OK. I am sorry for the loss of your Grandfather. As Forrest Gump once said, “life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to get. Hang in there Mighty Joe Yim! Say hey to Aaron Rodgers if you get a chance. 🏈. Take care 🙏
It's true, TH-cam isn't a guaranteed money making thing. It's a lot of work and investment to make nothing for awhile. It's a momentum game and if you're not seeing it as a long term solution, what do you do?
Good luck on your new job! Sorry to hear that you are feeling burned out from making videos and not getting enough growth with your channel. Please let me share my opinion, and I hope it helps. I am a Foodie, and I like to go eat at a lot of different restaurants. Your channel has a lot of Cooking videos that are aimed towards Chefs and Home Cooks. So it somewhat pigeonhole yourself into one niche. So maybe that is why you are not growing as much. What I would like you to do more with your channel is to visit different BBQ restaurants and eat their food. If the food is good, then give a positive review and recommend their restaurant. Help promote others, so others can help promote you. Making cooking videos at home all the time is very isolated. Why not try to help other restaurants to get more exposure? I want you to diversify your videos more by making videos eating at more BBQ restaurants. Or any other restaurants in general. This is just my opinion. I hope my opinion helps.
Do you write off all of your Expenses against your Business / TH-cam channel? I know cooking and eating food can be expensive. But if they are for your TH-cam channel, you can write off your expenses against your business or income.
Very happy for you. Clearly you're a great person and cook. But . . . your . . . Videos . . . are . . . REALLY . . . slow. Constructive criticism, but honestly the pace of your videos is way to slow. Talk less, show more cooking in real time.
Yet another self-issue video. You realize that your shrinking views and sub's is based on how you just keep having issues and people are done with you. #yawn
@@knoxavebbq I don't. But I critizied you a while back changing your TH-cam name and how it made no reason. You put yourself into a corner with where you were based out of. And Guess what, I was right! you went and moved again. So what is your newest excuse. And yes I will keep watching and giving you a hard time because someone needs to keep you honest. Your popularity has clearly been dying down, seeing you haven't been on any of Chud's videos in quite some time. Even he know's when someone is emotionaly toxic. Also... why hasn't LeRoy and Lewis had you back to help? Just saying.
You should have moved to Texas Joe. NY is gonna be cold and expensive to live in. No state taxes in Texas and Texas and friendly people. Good luck buddy and watch out for all of the illegal migrants that our governor shipped up there. Hopefully Trump is gonna get rid of them for you. 🙏
Congratulations on the move and it’s wormer there then Chicago. Best of luck and I hope I get to stop by one time. If you need recommendations of things to do in south jersey let me know. I live 1.5 south of you and there is some things to do down here. Best of luck and be safe.
Good Luck! No looking back! I am partial with my belief that New York will never be a place for Barbecueology. I believe the Meccas of South Carolina and Texas are the best places to relocate

Sorry for your loss brother. Congratulations on the new job in Manhattan! The Korean from Chicago cooking Texas BBQ in New York! Luv it!
