Really appreciate the Vid. The detail in the beginning was great. I've watched 10 tine replacement videos and I have a 1978 Tiller. The tines with the 3 holes are wrong for the Troy-Bilt. You bought the cheaper ones and I get it to save money and yes they'll probably work. There is a person who did a video and compared the OEM tines to these cheaper ones. I would clean up the original hardware and use it. When I replace mine again I'm gonna plurge for the OEM tines so that everything lines up correctly on the shaft. Thanks again and I subscribed a while back from a previous videos of yours.
Hey thank you. Yeah these tines are cheaper. I probably will go with the OEM's next time. So far though these are working well. I'm sure the metal quality isn't as good as OEM but I should get several seasons out of these before they need replaced.
Nice looking garden!!
Those times look fine. Got grand parents horse a few years ago. The tines were literally 2-3” long. Worn down so bad there was no 90 degree bend any more…
Thanks for watching. Yeah the tines that where on there where still working fine. they tips where just worn. the new tines i have on it i dont like as much. they dont seem to do as well and the fitment wasnt the greatest. i would recommend trying to find factory tines if possible if someone needs to change them. I will probable end up changing them back for now.
Tine holes don't line up because the angle is different from the original tines.
Do the inner tines first next time. Buy the BOLO tines
One of your wheel tires is on backwards.
Thanks for watching. Yeah I mentioned it in a video that I have a tire I need to swap around. Ill get it swapped around sometime.
Sorry I did not see that video.have you run it since with the tines buried and really fluffing up the dirt?
They do one heck of a good job because they are heavy enough. I hope you enjoy your machine as much as I do. Happy digging and May God bless you always 🙏 ❤️ ✨️ 💖 😊 ☺️ 🙏
Yes, sir, it does a fantastic job. I remember when I was young helping my grandfather in the garden, and he had a troybuilt horse. Wanted one of my own for years when I started gardening. They are great machines, and you can still get most all of the parts for one. God Bless 🙌 🙏
If you are going to do a video on installation of tines. You could atleast do them correctly. They were on wrong when you started . Also that's a 1980 model 4 speed Horse .
Hi Alan thanks for commenting.
I beleive its a 1976 4 speed I mention looking up the serial number in another video.
You could add benefit by commenting how they are actually supposed to be instead of just adding criticism.
The process of installing the tines are going to be the same.
That is a 4 speed tiller has one belt didn't start making the 4 speed until 1978 thru 1982. The outside left hand gang of tines are turned wrong. Look at the right side. See how the one of right turns out. The one on the left should turn out. Then the next one would turn in and so on.
@alanwhisler-sw7wx Thank you Alan great advice. I will change that on my tiller
