In this episode of Dialing In... for the Line 6 Helix/HX Stomp/Pod Go, I take a look at a very simple yet important feature in the Helix for using Reverbs and Delays, that is the Trail control. If you were ever curious about what this function does, look no further than this video. I really hope you enjoy the video and find it helpful.
As always, thanks so much for watching...

Thank you again. I was trying to figure out what that Trails switch did. Very helpful as always.

Thank you very much ! I’ve had my helix for over three years and I didn’t know this. I feel like a knucklehead. Once again very well done and explained. Thank You !!

Thanks Jason! Always wondered just where to incorporate this feature. There are several features in different types of blocks that frankly stump me.

Good thing to share. Nice to have both options for the particular needs of a tune.

Wow...i was scratching my head on this for a while and couldn't bother with this setting. I dont think the manual explains any of this. Thank you for explaining this!

Hi Jason ,I’m using the Helix live and I’ve noticed something odd. I had set up 2 delay blocks one with a short delay time and the other with a longer delay time and had trails on so when switching between snapshots it worked fine. As I was using the same model delay, I decided to use 1 block and set up a switch to apply the same changes I had available using 2 but this would free up some DSP in my view to use for something else ( I hope this makes sense)
I discovered that the trails doesn’t work when doing this and wondered if you had experienced the same thing.
    Cheers
    Mick

Yeah I’ve noticed my trails are no longer working , I’ve been over and over everything and I can’t get them to work in snapshots, they were working perfectly previously, any ideas appreciated…

Hey Jason, great info thx. I’m struggling when switching between snapshots and get that brief detuning sound. Any advice on the solution for this?

When I first got my HX Stomp, I often turned on many of the Parameters so I could try them without affecting the othe Snapshots in the same Preset. Does having Parameters On affect how much DSP a Block uses?

So i recently got the power cab 212 Pluis my presets sound great with head phones and absolutoley like crap on my power cab very disappointed the tone is so tinny sounds nothing lit it dose on head phones so close to returning it

I would tend to trust the speaker more than the headphones for dialing in tones. It can be a tricky thing to dial tones in on headphones that will translate live. You will likely have more success dealing the tone in to sound the way you want on the PC 212. Hope that helps a little :-)

@@JasonSadites Hi Jason thank you for the adviceI am taking that advice and I am getting better results appriate you thanks again . One question which would you recommend the helix cabs and put the PC 212 in FRFR - stereo flat. or use the speakers preset in ti the PC 212 and either not using helix cabs or bypassing them in Flat stero mode on the PC 212?
