Well worth getting out for the day. A good walk and as always the running commentary had me giggling. I think you were brave eating those different wild fruits - hope it didn’t disrupt your following meeting too much !!! 😂 That ladder is actually a hunting chair 😳 - glad to see you couldn’t resist a climb up tho - I’ve been climbing ladders all my adult life and there is just an irresistible urge….. Thanks again John 👍
Thanks Giles! I had done my research and was very confident in the identification of those wild berries. There's such an abundance of sloes / haws / rosehips this time of year that it seems a terrible waste so little use is made of them! No ill effects I'm happy to report!
Those field diagonals .... when there is no clear 'beaten path' through the crop .... go round the edge!. If there is no crop.take a stick and line it up with the angle of the direction arrow and pick out a landmark on the opposite side, then if necessary point stick again towards landmark and follow. Easy .... accept of course when someone has moved the original direction arrow!
If you were to do a video on medieval architecture, I would watch that too! Thank you for your videos, I really enjoy them. I love when you colab with WC21, I think of him as your "tweedy Father" figure. Lol
I really enjoyed the video. I live in Baldock and I run these trails all the time. I just discovered that some of them are actually Ickneild Way. I plan to run this by catching the train to Royston and running back. Ironically I watched this to see if I’d plotted it correctly, but I noticed you’d gone wrong before you said. 😊
Thanks! Yes I was fine, I had done my research etc. It seems a shame we don't make more use of some of those hedgerow fruits, there was such an abundance of them particularly this year.
This autumn, if you happen to remember, try making a batch of sloe jelly. Sloe and blackberry and/or elder makes for a good combo. Great with lamb, venison or stilton.
That does look like a nice walk. Sometime though just being out in nature is enough to make you feel Good. Hate those paths that go straight though field like that. I tend to walk around the edge of the fields 🥴
I'm glad it's not just me! It's not so bad this time of year, when it seems most crops have already been harvested - but can be nigh on impossible at the height of summer!

Cheers man! Definitely worth the walk I'd say! 🤠👍🍻

Good advice! ...but I definitely have seen cases where the direction of the arrow looks a bit awry...

The dignified majesty of a natural car boot sale encountered in the wild.
Thanks for the video, glad you did not poison yourself. 👍
