*The Last Boy Scout* is the 1991 action flick that reminds you of a time when heroes didn’t need superpowers-just a bad attitude, a lot of cigarettes, and a complete disregard for personal safety. Bruce Willis plays a down-and-out private detective who pairs up with Damon Wayans’ washed-up football player to take down a seedy conspiracy involving pro sports and sleazy politicians. It’s basically the ultimate 'buddy cop' movie, minus the badges and with a lot more swearing. Directed by Tony Scott, this movie is a masterclass in 90s excess: bullets flying, explosions every five minutes, and enough sarcastic one-liners to make Deadpool look like he’s trying too hard.
Compared to today’s CGI-heavy, save-the-world-every-time action movies, *The Last Boy Scout* is refreshingly unpolished-gritty, violent, and not afraid to embrace its R rating like it’s a badge of honor. No one’s trying to teach you a life lesson here; they’re just trying to blow stuff up and look cool doing it. It’s a relic from a time when action heroes had to rely on actual charm and a bit of swagger, rather than wearing spandex or piloting giant robots. Sure, it’s dated, but that’s half the charm-it’s the kind of film that kicks modern action in the teeth and lights a cigarette while doing it.

This movie is awesome
“FRIIIDAAAY NIGHT’S A GREAT NIGHT FOR FOOTBALL!!!”
That was cool yall showed the SUPER DAVE clip, lots of ppl forgot about him, i would've use Johnny Knoxville name for the modern audience 😅
Love the witty banter in this movie between Willis and Wayans. They seem to have great chemistry even if they were at odds sometimes on set. I also love that the villains are all in positions of power, which gives more underdog energy to our heroes:)
Damon also does a good dramatic turn in Bulletproof, where he has great banter with Adam Sandler. I think he should have done more action movies.
@@LordVolkov just rewatched Bulletproof last week and I laughed harder this time around than I did the first time I watched it. Underrated movie and the dialogue between them is hilarious.
Head or gut?
Moustache.
I actually love this movie.
@@alsale3207 agreed. I was shocked they got bored. I think this is a 90s classic. Wish there was a sequel.
One of Bruce Willis' best performances IMHO .
My favorite of his .
This movie's director Tony Scott was one of my favorite directors. Every movie he made was an event for me. Unfortunately he took his own life in 2012. Can't wait for you to react to his other movies
While I've always been a fan of Tony's (RIP), only in the last few years did I start to truly appreciate his use of color in his movies. I look at his work much like I would a painter now, working in periods of color and/or with a specific muse through his 'eras'. LBS falls near the end of his blue/orange period to me, that starts with Top Gun and ends with True Romance.
This is my favorite Bruce Willis movie. I like this better than diehard 😆
I liked this as well as Die Hard. Wish this film was on 4K blu-ray.
@@grannysfamily8804 Me too.
Better then it had any right to be....... liked your reaction to a guilty pleasure
3ed best Die Hard
I love your hair
This is the first movie that created that slang Bitch slap 😅
I liked The Last Boy Scout, the story telling is what makes movies. Fast-paced, senseless action films are usually the worst. Let the plot unravel & have a laugh here & there
"What, you don't believe in love?"
"Yeah, I believe in love; I also believe in cancer."
"What, they're both diseases?"
"Yeah, something like that."
"I'd love to meet the bitch that fucked you up."
Fun Fact: Body Count at 27.
Count It Out Fact: The word "fuck" is used 102 times throughout the movie.
Gun Enthusiast Fact: The gun Joe (Bruce Willis) takes from the alley pimp (Badja Djola) is a Desert Eagle .357 Magnum.
Automobile Enthusiast Fact: The car that Joe (Bruce Willis) and Jimmy (Damon Wayans) steal is a BMW 750iL. Joe's tan car is a 1971 Buick "Boat Tail" Riviera.
Casting Notes Fact: Tony Scott wanted Grace Jones to play the small part of Cory, but the producers opposed the idea and Halle Berry was cast instead. Mel Gibson was considered for the role of Jimmy Dix (Damon Wayans) and Jack Nicholson was the first choice for the part of Joe Hallenbeck (Bruce Willis).
Extra Extra Fact: A riot nearly occurred during filming at the Los Angeles Coliseum. Hundreds of extras were recalled for a second day of shooting, but a last minute decision was made to cancel the recall. The extras were not informed of the decision and arrived expecting a day of work. They were refused pay by the production, and as discontent grew, they began to surge against the barrier that surrounded the set. Riot police were called in to disperse the crowd.
I love this film for so many reasons, it does help that my favourite actor is Bruce Willis, and favourite actress is Danielle Harris.
For me this is Bruce’s like 5th best movie. It’s gives me everything I want in an action film. Still wild to me that him and Damon hated working together. U couldn’t tell at all from watching.
9:36 The Halle Berry "hairstyle" was her signature look years before and years after dating, marrying, and divorcing David Justice.
Shane black is the king
Please check out the long kiss good night.
Kevin here - that was slated to be a back to back watch with this movie..but she didn't care for this one nearly as much as she liked Kiss Kiss Bang Bang or Nice guys and we called an audible..it will happen eventually
The dude that was talking in the rain is that CD form Walker Texas ranger
You know this is someone the CPS visit weekly 🤣😂
There wasn’t movies like that before that movie in my opinion. The dialogue from Bruce Willis, and Damon Wayans alone was worth the viewership in my opinion.
Tara the guy you recognized for always playing shitty character was in the beginning scene of the 1st Bad boys movie
Movie, "King Of The Kickboxers."-Ernie Moore Jr.
I believe it should be "Roasting, in my 5.0"
33:02 That was GRUESOME & FUCKIN' AWESOME!!!
Tara ought to see Harley Davidson & The Marlboro Man.
I consider this movie the last action movie, of the '70s and '80s style.
Storm took out my electric for almost 24hrs. I was luckier than most.
Billy wasn't shootin blanks on that field.
Watch the 1991 strictly business
1. Loved this movie. Too bad they couldn't have made a follow-up. It's because the production of this was so chaotic. In a New Yorker profile, Joel Silver said that the making of this film was "one of the three worst experiences of his life." Tony Scott also spoke about how miserable production was, largely because Silver and Bruce Willis took over the production, altered parts of Shane Black's script, and made him shoot scenes he hated under threat of being fired and having to forfeit his salary.
2. Mike/Bruce McGill 44 years and pounds ago played "D-Day" in "Animal House"
3. Darian/Danielle Harris played in "Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead" and you should see her now. OUCH😍💕
4. Aside from the end of "Raiders of the Lost Ark" this has the best bad guy goes down death with the helicopter stunt.
5. Missing you Bruce.😰
One of the all-time best buddy cop movies out there. Five out of five stars.
Blasphemy! This is the movie Lethal Weapon wishes it was!
You ever drank a Anejo tequila? It’s not like the stuff they dish out at party places. Way more comparable to scotch than the typical clear tequila. But I get ya, for me it’s Jaegermeister. One baaad New Year’s Eve for me.
I feel the same way about Cuervo 1800
Not my favorite Tony Scott, but not his worst (that probably goes to Domino😅). I always enjoy Tony's use of color, and here it's the deep blues of night shots contrasted to the harsh yellow/orange of daytime (similar to his color themes in Top Gun and Days of Thunder).
How ironic how true most of things in this movie have come to fruition and ruined sports. I always thought this was a sleeper movie but funny how lots of points they talked about came to pass
The Last Boy Scout is fine, but it's not a re-watch. It's better than Hudson Hawk.
You should watch RED and RED2, if you haven't.
And it kinda sucks that this film and The Fan doesn't have a proper blu-ray release. They're on blu-ray but with no special features. I'd love to own The Fan on blu-ray but it sucks that I hate De Niro now. Lol
While I agree about Red 1 & 2, The Last Boy Scout IS re-watchable. Like it as much as the Lethal Weapon & Beverly Hills Cop series.
Great Reaction all Always......
Reminder - Shane Black also Wrote Lethal Weapon (1).......
Tony Scott really filmed his 90s movies the best!
Love your hair Mr wilson
I looked up football rules and no rule for shooting defenders to score a td.
Bruce Willis was funny talking about the wifes 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Better than all the other Die Hards.
"Get em Duke boys!"
If Tara hasn't seen Death Race 2000, it needs to go on the list.
Hardcore camp
I'm late but I'm here! Good morning
Morning!

Another Tony Scott Action Masterpeace 👌😆👍👊😎✊🍁
RIP Tony Scott 😔
Now I think that you guys should watch another Shane Black movie, The Long Kiss Goodnight.
One Of My All Time Favorite Movies, Bruce Willis & Damon Wayans Are The Best 💯 & Nice Reaction Sweetheart ❤
Leathal Weapon and Last Boy Scout comparisons are appropriate since Shane Black wrote both
You would love love love Lucky number Slevin. This is a sleeper movie that got by a lot of people and I can’t figure out why. It has Josh Hartnet, Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, Lucy Lu, Ben Kingsley, and Stanley Tucci. And I kid you not, it really delivers. I’ve watched your reactions. You’re really a down person, and will be one of your favorite movies. And lmao, the dog has seen some shit this week. 😂😂😂
it's on the list
The movie is a stone cold classic, but your hair is even more fantastic! Best yet ever. Return of the Friends 'do, baby!
***theme song hand clap***
When did the price go up from a whole Doll Hair?🤷🏾♂️😉
This movie is truly awful, and I love every second of it. Danielle Harris steals the show IMO, and may be the best actor in the movie. Noble Willingham is pretty underrated too.
oh... that brought some NFL memories... Being from Argentina when Gramatica came to the NFL it was an absolute novelty... so I started watching. He was the kicker for Tampa Bay. Tampa was horrible, great defense... they won a lot of games like 3-0 or 7-0 when they were feeling magnanimous. So, I became an Oakland Riders fan... they were much more fun... scoring like 30 or 40 points a game.
And in the Superbowl... the damned Tampa Bay broke loose and finally scored 41 points... against Oakland. I immediately quit watching football :D
Getting a dog to stop infidelity might not work all the time. Remember that episode of Nip/Tuck.
Crab-stepping with a marching bass drum on a muddy, icy field is just asking for torn ligaments.
I once had to call an audible before half-time to avoid that.
I was only 15 when this came out. I was familiar w/ Damon Wayans from In Living Color @ the time but it was cool to see a comedy actor in an action movie, especially alongside Bruce Willis. I was 15. I liked it.
Listen to me, acting as if movies like Beverly Hills Cop or Rush Hour don't exist... now let's imagine Jim Carrey in a full blown action movie 🤣
I tip my hat for the Back in Action mention. A great Roddy Piper flick that you shpuld do.
Bruce Willis was always great at playing the cynical, washed up, down and out reluctant hero. I'm pretty sure this was Damon Wayans' only time starring in a gritty action film & I thought it was a pretty solid outing. He had a string of films in the 90s that I feel went somewhat overlooked & underappreciated. I saw you covered Major Payne already which if you enjoyed, I would also recommend Bulletproof, Great White Hype, & Celtic Pride
You talking about marching with your saxophone in the rain brought back memories of my band director telling us rain was good for our hair...he was balding. Fortunately, I was playing bari sax, and it was borrowed from the school, so I wouldn't have to have paid to replace the pads :)
The little girl was Danielle Harris, who became a scream queen from appearing in horror movies including a few of the Halloween movies!
Out of all Bruce Willis' movies, this is my third favorite. It cones in just behind "Hudson Hawk" in second place, and "The Fifth Element" in first.
“…and then some.”
-Joe “Joseph” Halenbeck
Great movie choice. I really liked Bruce Willis and Damon Wayans showed he could do an action film. Wonder why he didn't start doing more, he was good at it. Hope you're okay and that you and your family weren't effected by the Hurricane. I lost power last night and then it got turned back on around 3 or 4 today.
This movie is even shittier than Hudson Hawk, that says a lot.
The fowl mouthed kid was pretty funny though.
foul, unless she's eating duck
Scraps. And then she was on Roseanne as the younger, cooler sister to the older sister who was the daughter in Mommy Dearest.
Don't stop believing Tara
The one liners are on a different level here. No other action film has the moxy and cheek. Think of another. What compaires?
I drank tequila on millennial eve and it left a terrible taste in my mouth all night. Never again.
Should have made a trilogy.
The 90's had some good flicks. Good choice, Tara might I recommend "Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow" With Jude Law, Giovanni Ribisi and Angelina Jolie. No ones reacted to it yet and its driving me nuts.
One of the best Tony Scott's movie.
Tara your really beautiful
30:32 I use this gif on MAGAts from time to time.
First date film.
Classic
If you haven't seen it, check out the movie "Bulletproof," starring Damon Wayans and Adam Sandler, from 1996.
"The Fifth Element" was a better Bruce Willis action movie than this one.
Thanks yall!
5th element is on the channel!
Hey tara , fun fact about the legend bruce willis . He put out an r&b soul album back in 1987 on motown records called The return of bruno . The pointer sisters and the temptations were on the album
I know it’s awful but awesome
i love how yall keep it honstest, but I LOVE THIS MOVIE. Thanks for reacting
Thanks for watching!
C4 doesn't explode when you shoot it
The bullet probably went through to the gas tank.
@JMO_1976 which also, wouldn't create that explosion, just a leak.
It hit the detonator
Tara did not get to make any references to any of the jokes so she did not understand, thats why she did not like it.
This movie is pure 90s action comedy gold.
I totally understood the movie. There was nothing to reference. And I didn’t say I didn’t like it so how bout don’t put words in my mouth.
@@ItsTaraAnn U said it was boring😭. Come oooon. How could u maaan, how could u 😝
