Excited about the new tech but have some reservations about connectivity, were they able to give any reassurances after the disastrous issues of 2023? Looking forward to the next review!

Excited too! A lot of buzz from our patients. Yes the boss lady did say she was going to address “the elephant in the room” (I thought there were two elephants)! App (new as of 29/02/2024 hopefully resolved) & battery now a size 13 LI battery 24 hours without streaming, with streaming 20 hours. She assured me the battery would last the life of the aid. I have recruited one of my product testers to test it to destruction! Will report back soon with more content.

Why don't they have a BTE? Annoying.

That will possibly come in due course, had a gent who would have benefitted from such a model assuming it would fit down beyond the 105dB that the RIC covers. Their ITE range are based on the same tech as the More & no rechargeable options!

@@zone1hearing thanks for the heads up. Would love for this to happen. Last offering for severe to profound segment is Xceed or OPN S PP. Unsure why Oticon have not brought anything out since then.

I’m shopping for my third set of aids. Oticon and Phonak are at the of the list.

The Lumity aids are very solid but if my memory serves me correctly I attended their launch event on 26th May 2022 so chances are there will be a new model in the next 6 months or so. The best aid for you will very much depend on your individual requirements so worth doing “the Pepsi Challenge” with a couple to ensure they meet your needs.

      A lot to unpack here
      Live music?
      Using the telecoil program?
      Using MyMusic?
      Streaming?
      Closed fit open fit?
      What genre?
      BLE Audio equipped phone/MFI/MFA?

I had rhe Teals for two weeks but after 10th day, they made the top of my ears very sore indeed. My great audiologist said try the INtent as they have different wires, which incidently are MUCH better.
Was pleased you mentioned glasses wearers and the INtent and yes ,they may be comfortable on their own but not good with glasses. Unfortunately after 3 weeks I'm still struggling with the clarity of the INtent. Found the Reals though, not such a natural sound as the INtent, we're better. However because of the wire problem can't go back to them. Seeing my lovely audiologist in a few days so will discuss with him.
It's very frustrating that Oticon don't do the same type of Intent type wires for the Reals.
My audiologist says sometimes the Aid maybe good but just doesn't gel with the patient. Nothing wrong with either, just a bad marriage.
Oh Oticon, think of us glasses wearers please.

The Intent is a brand new model and this is the first new receiver type in 10 years so will not be compatible with previous gen products.
We are doing well with ReSound Nexia 9 ITC aids might be worth a look? That will eliminate any clash between glasses & RIC aids. Their Micro RIE aid is very small too so you may do better with those. Hopefully your audiologist is independent like zone1hearing & can access any brand.

Just to let you know, I'm changing back to the Reals( put a long explanation on Dr Cliff , so please excuse me not doing so here.my audiologist says he can get the wires comfortable for me. I have mod/ severe hearing loss.
It all came down to I think my brain relearns lost processes with the Reals ( exciting) whereas the Intents do what the brain should be learning, in my opinion anyway. The Intents may be great for some but not for me.
Thank you for a really good review BTW, it was extremely helpful.
Aren't we lucky to have some great independent audiologists.

@jenniferdowney6578 I appreciate your update, I hope all goes well with the Reals. They do seem like quite a different aid, let’s see how others perceive them.

My audiologist says 90% of people are happy with the Intents.
I'm one of the 10 % who can't get on with them at all. Just hope that, in a few years time, when I need new aids, that Intent aren't the only choice.
You sound very like my audiologist, in which case, your patients are lucky.
Love to know how you find patients react to Real versus Intent in the future.
      Best wishes. J D.
