    I absolutely love this piece! I decided to play it for Solo & Ensemble this year, and I’ve had so much fun learning it. Not only is it a beautiful piece of music, but I find it really fun to play. I love how calming it is while also being upbeat and vibrant - perfect balance. I enjoyed it!

    I think it's all well and good that plenty of people like to play and write chop-busting, virtuoso pieces (e.g. Velocities), but I think it's equally important to have marimba music out there that's just pleasant music. (Admittedly, this piece might be harder than you make it look just because of you having good/well-developed skeelz, though.)
    The musicality in this is great. I appreciate the dynamics choices and the feel of it more than other pieces I've seen that seem to focus more on monstrous one-handed rolls or crazy runs or things like that.
    I was wondering--the PC4s appear to have been discontinued (looks like there are just a couple of overpriced-ish pairs on Amazon but that's it); any suggestions for mallets to use as a substitute for the PC4s?
    (And now I'm off to check out everything else you've put on TH-cam.)

      Tanner, thanks for these kind words - I appreciate you checking out my music! I will take a look at what's going on with the PC4s and get back to you.

      Tanner, I checked with IP and the PC3 and PC4 is now discontinued unfortunately. I recommend the IP703 (left) and IP704 (right) as this is the closest to the PC line.

      @@ChadFloydPercussion So...quick update. I DID in fact buy a pair of 703s and a pair of 704s as part of...well I don't know if you noticed the Steve Weiss buy 2 get 1 free on IP mallets? I...may have gone a little overboard with my mallet purchases. But...holy wow that 703 especially sounds INCREDIBLE. I mean, the 704 is great, and both give super warm sounds in their ranges (think I'm using the right lingo here), but I've never had a really bass mallet like the 703, and it's just amazing how full and rich the tone feels in the bass with those mallets! Just wow! Thanks so much for your recommendation!
      (...now all I need is the Mode 5 I'm waiting another few weeks for so I can finally get to learning and playing this! Going to buy the music from your site soon!)
      On a different note (oh yes--all the puns!) the shafts are so thick and feel so tough. Is that how all rattan shafts feel? (I think this is the first time I've touched rattan mallets.)

      @ChadFloydPercussion  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Great! Glad it's working for you! In my experiences those bigger mallets will have a thicker shaft. Yes, they feel different and some people don't like them for that reason. It's personal preference.

    I absolutely love it! Btw, are those mallets from Innovative Percussion? I think I've got the exact same model!
