So glad to see an actual lesbian woman, Romy, co-fronting a band that celebrates all love. It's one thing to hire actors that will play gay characters for 30 seconds of your music video (which is still a form of representation), but another to actually live and perform and front as a lesbian woman singing about love, to overcome the fear of how you'll be received. It is inspiring. Keep up the good fight.
Edit: I have only heard rumours about Oliver also being gay, but/so I can't know for sure, so I won't talk about it. All I can/want to do is applaud and thank the lesbian, bisexual, and gay musicians that are able to, and choose to, be out and proud.
It has that special capacity of the XX's music to literally get inside of me. From the minut 3:20 til the end its a TOTAL BLAST.

I do feel very sorry for millenials and Gen Y and I do agree if there were still chart shows and less accessibility to everything I'm sure this would have been one of those hits. Although I love old music, it does irritate me when people say oh back when music was good. There is a lot of great new music it's just harder to find among the limitless access range of internet channels.

I've seen hundreds of concerts in my life. Some good, some bad. It's not so easy to fascinate me. I remember this shit day 2 months back - everything went wrong at work, it was one of these typical grey and rainy days in Germany. In addition I had this concert in the evening in the other city, Düsseldorf. Not the best preconditions ... but - WOW - what a concert. The XX just blew me away and turned a grey day into one I will remember for a long time. If you ever have the chance to see them live, go there! Thanx for your music!

this video is the only thing that makes me think music hasn't lost its ineffable emotion charge, that seemed so alive in everything released in the 90s.
I am so happy that nowadays we are trying to be more open about gay couples, and we need to see more of them in films and art in general because it still feel a little bit weird to me seeing this, but i know that it's just because culture always tries to tell us that only couples made by a man and a woman are normality, while it's not.
