I love these ideas and they can be expanded beyond date nights. For instance special outings with kids or take yourself out alone on a date kind of things Love love love These great ideas
My husband and I love going to the library and picking out books for each other! We have such different tastes when it comes to what we read, but it’s always fun to see how well he knows my taste when he picks books for me. We also look at the movies to see if there’s anything there to watch!
Great ideas. You have t best info.. Id add local free live music, ethnic grocery store for new foods, food truck night, stargazing with sleeping bag or blankets, sunset/sunrise date, and volunteer event that you both support.
Sketching Date: I have a friend that I do a long walk with a friend once a week. Once in November & again in early December we were having crazy rain weather & didn’t feel like going outside. So my friend came over to my place and picked up rocks, pine cones, leaves, branches on the way over. Then we put them on the table and picked a few items to sketch ✍️. We just used the blanket back of junkmail. We both used to draw on hikes 30 years ago, so it was to reconnect with that. Photo via Phone Camera 😮Scavenger Hunt: a group of us did a 365 Photo-a-Day challenge in a private Facebook group. The moderator put out a list of themes for each day a week at a time. Then we concluded our year with 2 events: a scavenger hunt of pictures to take in Alameda with a meetup at lunchtime at a local cafe. And we put on an “art show” at a local cafe that had become a sort of a community gathering place in San Leandro. We each got space to hang 10 framed pictures. That was an amazing experience and the cafe even hosted an evening opening reception.
Such good date night ideas, gave me some more ideas. I'm more so a gamer so if there's ever a gaming system I don't own but a game I'm interested in... I'll just watch a streamer play through that game. Right now I'm watching, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. It's a tad eco because I'm not buying more stuff and stuff cost resources. I got an email recently that one of my local zero waste shops is hosting a clothing swap next year. I've never done that before so hopefully I'll be able to attend and make that into a date experience.
I love that area. If you haven't already, check out the skunk cabbage trail, the elk river trail is super close to Eureka, you probably have already been to the Arcata community forrest. The Redwood Curtain Brewery has a much chiller vibe than Lost Coast. I really liked the Phoenix Café in Arcata, they have a cool garden out back and I got to see my friend's husband's band play there. I also highly recommend Squid Ink Studios if you're thinking about any new tattoos.
@TheSimpleEnvironmentalist Hoooooray! I hope you share if you feel comfy! Thanks for everything you do! It really helps me work on positive changes. Oh yes, if you go to the Yarn store in Eureka and see Tommi, tell her I say hi! And say hi to Eliza, Ethan, and Thomas at Squid if you go. Sending love from the bay!
