Back in the 80's during my lunchbreak I was speeding on a back road in my 1972 Chevelle. ( Midnite Blue w/ Corvette wheels ) when I passed by a parked police car .
Knowing that he was coming for me I floored it , went around a tree lined curve , when the road straightened out I
slammed on my brakes . My car ended up completely sideways in the road , lucky me . So I backed up a little bit and nailed the gas heading back towards the cop car . We passed each other around the curve ( my fingers are shaking as I'm typing this 😆 )
I turned off onto other roads , made my way on the main road turned off onto a side road and parked behind one of buildings at the Industrial Park where I was working . Luckily I got away .

I’ve done this before in one of my friends growing up’s corvette. We were racing an SRT-4 Neon, Trooper was outside his Camaro with his speed gun. We blasted past at like a buck 40. He jumped in but my buddy hammered it for a good 2 miles and we just exited. He flew by the exit like a minute or two later. We were already in a gas station parking lot. Adrenaline was pumping for sure.

The new ones are even lower. All these 7+ hear trans have high overdrive. My pick up truck of all things doesnt hit 2,000rpm in OD until 85mph. My old 98 5spd truck was over 2,000rpm at 65mph.

Very impressive. I got my 2007 BMW 750Li up to just under 150 at about 10:30 PM last night going westbound on I-8 in southern Arizona, west of Dateland (or thereabouts) on my way back to San Diego.
The road was fairly empty and I had my radar detector on and I wanted to go a little faster but the road isn't as smooth as I would have liked. The car still did very well and didn't wander at all.
I always ran a laser jammer too. Would take a scouting run in one direction for a mile or two, then if clear do a flip and run like hell coming back. Waited until three or four in the morning too. Never trusted doing that around other drivers.

Anytime you run at night if you brake with your E brake the brake lights won’t light up so they won’t be able to see your lights.you have to be easy on them at high speeds and down shift.Definitely gives you an advantage.sweet sounding Vette!

Yeah those are NTTA’s cameras so they can charge you for using their road. Being a private company the city has no access to them. All red light cameras were removed in texas
