How was your experience with morning chanting & evening chanting?

Thank you for this 🙏 I’ve been slowly getting better with starting my morning more intentionally/positive/peaceful, but have occasions where I slip up (more than I’d like 😅) I’m grateful to have this to now use in the morning to help center/ground me as well as develop gratefulness/appreciation for what I have 😊

I just finished listening 🎧 to the chanting. It is beautiful, Nick.
I'm currently sitting in my bedroom with 2 Himalayan salt lamps flanking my bed. Although I don't understand the meaning, I feel calmer now. Good night 💤

Challenging, as it is a very unfamiliar language, but I am studying it a bit at a time. Took about a month to memorize 1st four lines. I just repeat and repeat-driving to work, etc . Good to know it takes the monks months as well..thank you Nick, I really appreciate your channel and your spirit, connecting those of us out in this world to yours.🇨🇦

Thank you Nick for all your videos. You really manage to bring the teachings to westerners and make it simple to follow. I have almost learnt by heart the morning chant and love to do it every day. It is so calming and definitely helps to quiet the mind before meditation. I like to close my eyes whilst chanting and imagine I’m with the sangha. That makes me concentrate deeper as I don’t want to mess up in front of everyone else. It works.

Hey Nick! Long time no comment...I've been watching though. I'm glad you talked about this in this one. Typically I have no problem "switching off" but the last month has been absolutely crazy for me, I've recently taken on alot more responsibility at work...which came with a promotion and more money of course. But ever since then I can't "switch off" anymore. I can't meditate the way I used to, I can't clear my mind. My brain is going 24/7 now. Thinking about the job mostly, which then leads to think about everything. I mean I'm so stressed out constantly now....like I feel myself aging all of a sudden. All of my muscles are tense and I have this constant headache....sleep eludes me every night. I hate what I'm becoming. Any advice my friend?? 🙏😔

Welcome back and it's ok. Take time to adjust and adapt to your situation and new environment. Do it in a way that is easy going and relaxed. Then slowly incorporate your old habits/healthy lifestyle. It's a slow dance. But most importantly it's to take the pressure off yourself 😉

I have a question: I practice in a Japanese-origin buddhist school (won't mention the name to avoid issues) but I also like reciting and learning these parittas and kathas, is it wrong to incorporate them to my practice? Since I chant morning and night Lotus Sutra chapters but sometimes like.. while commuting or something, I listen to these chanting
