- Hi guys! This is an acoustic guitar lesson and tutorial on Chicago's "Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?" This is 2 of 3 Chicago tutorials that I plan to make. The song was released on Chicago's 1969 debut album Chicago Transit Authority, and was written by keyboard player / singer Robert Lamm. The song was released at varying lengths (including an extended length with a piano free form intro) and this arrangement starts where the horn section comes in. I'm a huge Chicago fan and love their vocals, diversity of chords, and their songwriting!

Thanks for checking out the video! That's great you saw Chicago back in their prime in the 70's. I think 1978 is the year Terry Kath tragically died. I've seen Chicago once, but it was recently, around 2020.

Forgotten how many great songs they wrote Luke. Yet another song I love by 'Chicago'. God there are some beautiful chords used in this song, as most of their songs. The intro chords are so very clever. They were a true 'musician musicians' band. So talented.
Excellent tutorial here Mate. You're another lucky person who is able to utilise the thumb on your fretting hand. I can't, for the life of me do that, and it's not from lack of trying either.

I would be near ready to upload a song now but I'm trying to record a 'school anthem' musical backing for my Sister-in-Law, and I haven't used Logic Pro X for a few years and it seems to have changed so much that I am having trouble getting what should be an easy task, done, and it's doing my head in. 🙄

Great cover at the start! You are a good teacher. The hardest part for me is remembering the order. I like to print out the lyrics and put the corresponding chord right above the word where that chord is in the song. You explain the chords well, so it would be a doable song in no time. I really like the sound of the chords!
autocrow - thank you man! I do the same thing, I call them "song sheets" and I make them in M.S. Word in a table, with rows labeled "verse 1", "chorus", etc. with the lyrics, then print them and put the cords above the lyrics in the right places - same as you.
