Kristis, please keep making videos like this. I gave myself a Father's Day gift and purchased a 2020 V85TT. Servicing notes for us D.Y.I. people are always appreciated! CIAO!

I suggest using aluminum foil to redirect the oil away from the exhaust. Much less of a mess afterwards

    Ok,
You got a bike „produced on Monday“.
I changed the oil at 6.000 km as well.
Looked totally clean and no debree at the magnetic screw. Amount of oil was fine.
Concerning the shaft drive (another video) you were totally right. After 6.000 km it was black and a lot of metal was at the magnetic screw

Mine could have been with mode shavings because of slightly insufficient oil level, but more or less this is expected. It was not even close to the level of shavings the bevel drive had :)

My owner manual says 180 ccl for the shaftdrive, somewhere I heard 160 ccl, what is right?

I had the same experience, only 500cc of old oil, even when I hung my Guzzi and tried different angles to drain more oil, and waited for one hour. No more than 500cc. Filling it with 700cc

Brand new 2024 TT 1500km, first service and i wanted to change the gear oil and check it after i saw your video, around 550-560ml factory oil 😤. I put 700ml as the repair manual states.

Hello ! Thanks for your very interesting video. I am surprise about this level too low. Best regards.

Changed gearbox oil at 2000 miles. What a pain in the ass to get to, used tin foil to direct oil into a container. Oil was correct quantity with no debris on magnetic screw. Real problem getting drain plug out as it had been overtightened and deformed the aluminium crush washer. Even fiddlier was getting drain plug back in again it takes great patience and dexterity. It’s a shit design

It helps if u de-cat it

I was told it pretty easy to remove the exhaust. I'm going to try it without removing the exhaust first.

@@Kristisltu On the 23 V85TT the cat is welded to the headers. It cost around 500 plus to get a header system without the cat.

Hi Kristis, thanks for your video. I am somewhat concerned about my V85 gearbox, Its a 2020 model that i bought in 22 with 3K km on it.Has about 11K km now. The last few months gear changes 1st -3rd are making me weep as they seem to be getting harsher. I am wondering if this is what you were experiencing. I have tried to adjust the clutch in/out but no improvement. Changes 4 - 6th are perfect.
I am off to the mechanic this week. I dont have anywhere to work on it presently. Interested if this is what you were experiencing?

The bike must be on lateral stand or central stand? I've v85tt E5 with level porthole

    • @Kristisltu
      @Kristisltu  ปีที่แล้ว

It doesnt matter as there is no way to measure the level from the bike. Just measure what you are adding to it ;)
