Hogwarts Legacy is an action-role-playing video game developed by Avalanche Software and published by Warner Bros. Games. The game is set in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, allowing players to attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry as a student in the late 1800s, in a time before the events of the Harry Potter series. The game offers an open-world experience with spellcasting, potion-making, combat, magical creatures, customizable characters, and exploration, and promises an immersive and detailed world.
As a new student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, you will embark on an exciting journey filled with magic, mystery and dangerous adventure! In Hogwarts Legacy, you attend classes and learn magic while exploring a vast open-world environment full of dangers and mysteries. You get to create your own character, customize their appearance, and choose your Hogwarts house, each with its own unique set of values and traits. As you progress through the game, you encounter a variety of magical challenges and obstacles. These challenges can range from simple puzzles to intense battles with powerful foes. This starter guide will teach you how to master your spells, potions, and magical creatures, as well as utilize your wits and strategy to succeed. - เกม
As someone who hasn't played the game, I'm honestly impressed that you managed to put so much useful information in the video while still not spoiling any major plot points and just setting people up for their own playthrough.
I know this must've been a huge amount of work, but the result speaks for itself.
I wouldn't mind this format for other games in the future.
No matter what people think of the game, the quality of this video is as high as I've come to expect from your channel. Great work!
@Fundamentally Unorthodox so?
@Fundamentally Unorthodox Watching you people seethe over a video game is exhilarating. You muppets are no different then those in.cel that cry and moan when The Last of Us 2 released. 2 sides of the same coin lmao.
Pete always puts this much work in his videos because that is what is needed to do his impossible completionist playthroughs
I really like this format. It is obvious that you put a lot of time and care into writing the script, and it paid off. Information is delivered concisely, the editing is snappy and not dizzying like I've seen with some content creators. I'm excited to see more of videos like this one. Well done!
This is astonishing ... a professional level of content that really hits the spot.
Long time subscriber and, as much as I’m not interested in this serie (not a Harry Potter fan), I think that you so don’t deserve the hate. You’re entitled to like and share the games you want without people harassing you or others because of it. Just want to show you my support. Keep going with your great job!
Where is the harrasment you people keep talking about? People saying they are dissapointed??
@@cptKamina Pete keeps deleting any disrespectful comments
@0 Halen 346 Betalen he is delete comments attacking people that are disappointed in it, or who are attacking Trans. Not the other way around
@@Quemain_di_Aephey Yeah, but it is definitly not healthy for him to have to read every hate comment only to protect us, his community from this hate
Dearest Pete. I owe you one. One favour.
Why? Because you inspired me. You showed me what I could be. I'm sorry to see that you've encountered such suffering. I saw this video, and I was confused.... But I remember your Sims playthrough... And your Mass Effect Playthrough... Both games I never thought I'd care that much about. You made me care. Your quality is unmatched. I remember thinking; "if Pete has made a guide on Hogwarts Legacy, it's going to be good". I... I owe you a favour Pete. For all the inspiration you have been; for all the effort you have put in...I will do my best to repay you for seven years of content that is unrivaled in brilliance. You have my highest praise.
I really like this format of all-in-one-place starting guide. I see why you haven't been uploading much lately, working on this beast of a project haha. Nice video!
I just wanted to say, I appreciate the guide Pete, I haven't played the game yet, so I'd rather not spoil myself. But I will definitely come back and give this a full watch again once I've done so
I came here to comment basically the same thing, don't want to watch before I play the game but definitely want to give Pete support for making such an extensive guide
Ok, but... watching guide after you played it is bit redundant, isnt it?
I've played a few hours of the game and can say that the spoilers are basically nonexistent in this video, but I do understand you not wanting even gameplay being spoiled. The only thing I wish I had known prior to playing was the gear limit and legendary chests. I'm a hoarder and have basically missed every single legendary chest I have come across because I did not know.
There are no spoilers in the video unless you've been living under a rock and never heard of Harry Potter.
I know the game is a bit old, but would you consider doing a playthrough of Vampyr? You play as a doctor who was turned into a vampire, caught between healing the citizens of London or feeding on them instead.
Yeah it'd be pretty interesting seeing how Pete tackles things in Vampyr
Thanks for the reminder. I forgot I didn't finish playing Vampyr once HL came out.
I second this, I wanna buy that game. I miss the era of a bunch of AA titles, so it's nice when they get made and are good games and concepts. I love the way the game world changes based on whether or not you kill. I'd love to see AA renaissance
I realize this was posted a while ago, but I just started the game and followed this to the T. Really glad I did. I'm the explorer game type so this kept me on track and really excited to keep playing. Thank you for all your time and effort, I liked and subscribed
I for one have enjoyed the game so far (a few hours in), and I greatly appreciate the time and effort you have put into making this guide. Thanks for all the useful tips!
i had it for a week and already over 30 hrs in☠
@@nothing-tl8klget elden ring 😂
One caviot to the "nothing matters on the character creator screen" I've found that choosing NOT to start out with glasses losses you 30 gold when going to sell off your basic gear.
What I love about this video is the hope that Pete is willing just to do simple one off coverage of games. Like that's dope
Great guide. I'm seeing this after already getting 100% game and challenge completion last week so I feel like it's pretty spot on. Only thing I disagree with is the Glacius spell talent. I got it eventually but any time I tried to use it (mainly to do one of the random combat challenges) it felt very difficult to have enemies close enough for the icy blast to hit anyone mid-combat. A different option I got a lot out of was the Levioso talent which would levitate a group of enemies which was often a nice starter of combat to disable a few enemies all at once. Similar for the accio talent in conjunction with the Incendio talent, which would pull a bunch toward me then blast them all right back with lots of fire. Given that the main standout weakness of many enemies is fire, it's a great combo.
I fully support your decision to play this game. I'm sorry for the hate you've received. Keep your head up, Pete. ❤
In his discord he said this is a one-off, unfortunately. But still damn good vid he had made.

@@Isweartoomuch13Boo-hoo 😢 It’s a great game & the Harry Potter series is amazing. Both the books & movies.
This is the best early game walk thru for this game, hands down. No spoilers, super helpful without being condescending or long winded, everything I was looking for. I realize I’m super late to the party but I just recently started playing through this. I preordered it for PC but only got a few hours in and never went back and then bought it again on Switch when I realized I still do love gaming I’m just too tired to play at a desk at the end of the day, I gotta play in bed or on the couch lol. It’s not even half bad on switch, not even enough to make get up off the couch and play on PC lol I appreciate the time and work I’m sure this video took, and for how well you explained everything while being entertaining. I’m sorry this video got any negativity for something that has literally nothing to do with you lol. I hope you’re well ❤
You are the best. I love this game! It is fun!
Hey Pete, long time watcher and lurker since the good old days of Cambier.
This is great content. You're a great content creator. End of conversation.
Good work with the video as always. Thats a great guide, i can see how much work you put in it and im sure that it will help out a lot of people. Awesome content!
This is great content! Thanks!
This is an awesome video Pete, thanks! Actually answers a lot of the questions I had before starting the game out. Just got the quests to pick up the Accio and Levioso spells and wanted to know a good approach towards what's important early on. Appreciate you putting it up!
This video is perfect for helping my family with the game! Thank you for putting time and effort into this!!!
Wow! This video must have been a gargantuan undertaking, much appreciated Pete! I have only recently discovered your channel (via your Mass Effect series) and you have quickly become one of my favorite creators on the platform. Your videos are always a joy to watch, and I can't wait to see this new video and your take on this wonderful game!
I was thinking the same thing about the volume of hours he must have put into this video! Hours of game play, the editing, VO, etc.
@@sabaducia Pete doesn't cut corners, he's here to produce great vids and chew bubblegum. I think I read there's a bubblegum shortage in Germany, too. ;-)
Thanks sp much for this guide. This type of game isn't my usual choice, but I got it as a gift. I was feeling a bit overwhelmed. I appreciate knowing that completionitis is not required to make the game play well. This is why I love your channel, I never know what to expect.
I appreciate the time and effort spent to make this video. Keep up the great work, Mr. Pete!
You mailed this video. I am a newbie to Hogwarts, but your video has given some excellent information that I will follow. Thanks for making this awesome video for us newbies. God Bless.
You only just posted it, so I obviously haven’t watched the entire video, but congrats on what was obviously a huge undertaking, Pete. I’m sure this video will be just as amazing as all your others.
Oh wow, Pete, what a video! I love your channel, I love your videos and I love the community you gathered around your channel! Most of them seem like super decent people and the others don‘t matter for me as a fan! But I can emagine that these discussions that you can find under most Hogwarts Legacy videos can ruin all the fun for a content creator! But I really want to tell you from the bottom of my heart: your content matters not because you are a great gamer (witch you are) or because you play the Game I am playing at the moment (rimworld was the reason I found your Channel), but because there is so much love and honesty in you videos! I Never felt clickbated by any of your Videos, your videos never felt rushed or half assed and, most importently, you always where honest about you mental health, whitch helped me immensly to handle my own depressions! TH-cam needs creators like you and it wouldn‘t be the same without you! ❤❤❤
I love this video. It is all of your best features as a youtube creator, combined with the most perfect example of an early game walkthrough I have ever seen. Thank you, Pete, for everything you do.
I really appreciate the effort you must have put into this video, great work Pete!
This walkthrough is absolutely top notch sir. Much appreciated. I come back to this video every time i start a new character.
Always a pleasure to see one of your videos pop up. My personal preference is for the usual kind of playthroughs on your roster, especially for story-driven (ME), or story-creating (Sims, Rimworld) games. But variety is the spice of life, in games as well as other matters.
This is a really good guide, gives a new player an outline and the basics, some tips, etc without spoiling it. Well done.
Don't worry, plenty of outrage goblins are here to spoil it for everyone
@Fundamentally Unorthodox Getting triggered by a game lmfao
I really appreciate the guide Pete thanks bro
I like this guide a lot! Really sorry that you had so much trouble with it.
Great video Pete :)
This is a great guide. I found myself taking notes and if you haven't already, I hope you do one for the second half of the game as well. I don't usually stick with guide videos that are this long, but this one was great.
Good job! This is a great guide! Thank you.
Thank you for this great guide @Pete Complete , it was a pleasure to watch.
I think you did a great job at teasing the game for those, who have yet to experience it aswell as guiding through the first season. Even though i personally prefer walkthroughs, i also enjoyed this format very much.
I do think, though, that this game was not the right one for a guide: The game itself is great imho because of all the love and lore that has been put into the stunning world of hogwarts and its surroundings by the gamedevelopers.
the gameplay by itself is pretty easy aswell as very forgiving, most choices are barely relevant in the end, which makes a guide not to be necessary imho.
E contrario, i think all the collectables and the beautiful worldbuilding to lull at as a viewer would make for a perfect completionist walkthrough.
But nevertheless i very much enjoyed the video and am very grateful for all the work that you put into it.
Great guide
You got to hand it to Pete, whether in the end he gains or loses a few subscribers, in the short-term the algorithm has got to be blowing up for him thanks to all the comment engagement.
Good point. I was thinking he should have maybe turned comments off for this one, knowing how off-topic it was bound to get. But yeah, this is a great channel and I hope it does benefit from the extra traffic.
Also: commenting for the algorithm :D
@Fundamentally Unorthodox lmao
@@retyroni yeah, hopefully all the needless toxicity people leave but some new people come around. Shoutout to the algorithm
This guide is AWESOME!!! i always come back to it when im creating a new character to ensure I don't miss anything everytime when i start off.
Well put together Pete. Thank you for taking the time and research. Incredible guide to help us.
Can confirm that this video was indeed very helpful. Thank you for you effort Pete.
I want to add you don't technically have yo start the sidequest for the moth mirrors to open the possibility of them, as long as you know lumos is the key. Lol I kinda figured out the mirror where her quest starts way before she was ever there
Just stumbled on that the other day!😂
Love the video! Keep up the good work
Extremely well done and helpful video. Thanks so much!
Great video Man. Well done. Very useful pointers

Excellent video! Thank you very much.
Thank you for this great guide. I was having trouble with those arithmetic doors, and you explained it perfectly. Also, I wasn't aware of the way the item level scaling worked. I'll definitely do things differently on my second play through.
I always enjoy your videos. Thanks for the great content. I've been watching for years. Hope you have a great day!
Great video, you've earned my sub
Thanks, im one of those who overthink everything so your video help me to relax a little bit and enjoy the game..
Nice Video!
Great video
Awesome as always!
I haven't played the game yet, but from this video and other reviews i've read, it feels like this game is a very lightweight RPG where choices don't matter, but still a ton of fun.
Yesss this is the content i am here for
Love the video, thank you.
Thanks so much for this.
Thank you Pete for this guide. I don´t see anyone mentioned that you have a really good voice for explaining as an interesting storyteller.
You did a fantastic job with this and I am happy to find a guide instead of a walkthrough as many has shared.
I am new to this genre and just bought the game a few days ago and love it. Already done all the mistakes you mention in the video :D
Level 13 with no talents unlocked, no broom and deleted lots of gear early on. Will start all over now with my new knowledge and see if I will do better :D
I really enjoyed your video and it has been very helpful, at least for me, so thank you
Thanks for guide, as usual a fine work of your. Maybe I'll play the game when in discount until then thanks for the hard work.
An excellent guide, for an interesting game! This will be helpful as soon as I get an occasion to buy the game and play it :)
Thanks for this video Pete! I enjoyed it!
I'd love for you to stream a casual playthrough of this. I know this might be against your completionist nature, but for someone as myself, who does not have the time to get into games and their gameplay deeply, I enjoy watching others play - yourself in particular as I share your urge to optimize your playthrough and complete it to a 100%.
Not even 3 minutes in and you've saved me! I didn't realize I could change my character's voice to get rid of that stupid audio glitch. Thank you!
1:36 there is 1 thing that matters when it comes to character creation, the house you pick. Huffle puff is the only house that has the ability to visit Azkaban during a certain quest, I'm pretty sure all houses have house specific missions but Azkaban is hufflepuff only
awesome guide dude thx a lot 👍
Great video. Thank you for all of this help given in such great very useful interesting eadily understandable guide. You are great at this.
Great video mate, keep it up :D
Good to see your vids
Good video!
Finally picking up the game soon so I'm watching this again
you sir are an artist. i love your content :)
Great video. Im hoping to see more of these on games you play but dont stream.
Or perhaps could do one for Rimworld to show your audience the strategies and principles (perhaps) that makes you come up with such good gameplay.
Hey! I’m old and extremely new to gaming, and I’ve tried like seven other games in the last month and a half, and simply cannot figure out what exactly tf the game is expecting me to do. Could you possibly tell me about Rimworld and if it is open to brand new/inexperienced players? (basically, just not anything AC) I like…well, fuck. I need help. A lot. The people I know and love and trust in my life have recommended the WORST stuff (Confirming that they never actually listen to me), and I just want to find another game that I can figure out, and that my ADHD allows me to focus on (so just forget anything that’s not aesthetically pleasing). Any recommendations? Nothing post-apocalyptic or in space, pleeeaasssee.
I will watch this video when I have more time in the day. :)
Thanks very helpful xxx
Hi Pete, I am voicing myself solely because I saw your post about this comment section. The only reason why I am not watching this Video is because I haven't decided if I want to play the game myself. I like discovering as much as possible on my own in a game, but I am absolutely sure this is one of the best guides for players. So I just leave this comment and a thumbs up.

Still waiting on that prison architect play through! Thanks Pete 😊
Me I've been exploring the school and leveling up and learning spells and after that been exploring and haven't been back to Hogwarts and learning to fight different enemies and farming materials as well
Wasn't expecting this, but it is welcome. I don't really care about the game, I just enjoy your way of tackling gaming content, your strategical mind and your personal views about the gaming aspects. I subscribed to you because of those things and I welcome any content you produce because I have been able to see, through the years, how much effort you put into each video. I just got back into gaming after a long hiatus. Wish I would have watched this before starting the game! Nice work!
Trippy I’ve never missed a video but this one I didn’t see til the xcom episode brought me here. Shameful display of algorithm imo.

I wish i could gift this game to my kid self back in the day and watch my own face while playing it. 😁 Thanks, Pete.
Just dove into the video just to show support to you. Great video and amazing tips. They really do help people that haven’t played it yet
Just had to say that I'm not really a Harry Potter fanboy although I did enjoy the movies. The game however is incredible. The amount of detail and life going on around Hogwarts really captured my attention. There's so much to see and do, I'm going to be spending a lot of time exploring and seeing how much I can find. I went in with no expectations and totally blind as to the games story and gameplay and am having so much fun even just walking around Hogwarts and exploring. It's definitely a feast for the eyes and as someone who isn't a diehard harry Potter fan, would still highly recommend it. 9\10 for me!
All I can say is brilliant job, well done and hi Sandra from Australia
This is an incredible video. Earned a new sub from me today.
The audio pitch problem has a solution I discovered yesterday. It's the Switch speakers that are the problem. Using it docked and sound mode set to sound bar and the voice sounds great at any pitch.
