This is a compilation of some of my best shots where I was behind the camera! You might recognize some of these shots from the official GoPro launch assets; these are shots I personally was either holding, wearing, flying or rigging up!
There are shots in here using all of the new lens mods:
Macro, Ultra-wide, Anamorphic, ND Filters, and new Burst Slowmo.
Also no gimbals were used in the making of this!

I’ve been using HERO13 in the wild for a few months as you can see! I wanted to share a few of my favorite shots I captured while out on official GoPro productions or while testing the camera! Do me a favor and share with your friends! 🙌🏻 Thanks for taking the time to watch !

Honestly enjoyed this more than the Hero 13 release videos.
yeah the last few years of release videos with narration and specs being throw up over the video are so much more dull and clinical vs. the days where the primary release trailer was just cinematic images of amazing people doing amazing stuff placed over inspiring music.

This guy is a talented videomaker, and GoPro only really sucks in low light. As you can see, apart from the long exposure night lapses, there are no low-light clips in this reel.
@@Nekzuris There are a couple of mind-blowing low light shots in this clip. Check out 1:27 and 1:45
@@Nekzurisbecause u have to shoot in low light to be able to make a movie? All cameras suck in low light anyway mybe dji or insta360 are a bit better but not enough for such good quality video
@@athirath I don't consider sunset with the sun still above the horizon low light, these shots look good and noise free because they are exposed for the bright sky and fire, while the surrounding landscape is underexposed. If you tried to expose the landscape properly, it would be very noisy.

I want to say something about the GoPro 13 being a repackaged GoPro 12 (which it is), but these shots are so good, I'm just going to keep my mouth shut.
It has GPS, it has a bigger, redesigned battery for longer use, it has heat-dissipation improvements, it has a new lens auto-detection system, it has the only rotating, manually focusable Macro lens of any action camera (with Focus Peaking to help you easily see what's in focus), the Ultra Wide lens is the widest lens of any action camera, it has a new, underwater Dive Mode if you install the GoPro Labs firmware, the UI has useful improvements... and these are just a few things off the top of my head.

HEY ABE - Could you please provide the details of your TH-cam 4K export settings, including the bitrate you are using? 😁
Yeah! I actually just exported this in ProRes and uploaded that straight to TH-cam. I find it retains a bit more of the sharp detail but in motion scenes it can break down a little more whereas compressing with h264 will sort of clean a bit of those sharp details off and be smoother when it gets fast

Would be great to see/know a little bit of secrets that you use to have such an amazing final results in the end (ND filters/mounts/tricks...), thou it is understandable that many of them are you personal techniques that you might not want to share :)

Just unreal!! Did the shark shot use the new GoPro Labs HyperSmooth Dive mode? Once again, I learnt a bunch of things, one of them being to use a digital lens rotation method to pan a nightlapse, like at 0:46 - that was badass. That transition at 1:08 from surf to offroad to fire was 😱 Thanks for the inspiration, Abe!!
Yes! Underwater hypersmooth on that plus 5K 120 burst. Crispy !

All of them! Bike scenes were ND, used ND underwater in some! Macro on some of the selfie and slowmo shots, also obviously the closeup of the camera and fire! Anamorphic on the camp scene with the hammock. Ultrawide surfing, skiing

Well done, sir. All this is shot on a standard 13? No extra bit rate or other tweaks we normal people usually don't have access to?
What lens is used on the hammock shot? Corners look distorted, but not in a bad way
Nah this is also stock bit rate. Some shots in log others in natural. Good eye, hammock is anamorphic, but shot in 16:9 where you expose more of the blurred edges. That lens is super preproduction so you’ll see some blurring that won’t be in the final.
