Moving the paima and paroons sounds like it’s gonna stressful af, hopefully all goes well though because that paima can do some DAMAGE at that size

Do you ever wonder if Sheila ever signs to herself, daddy come back! You can blame it all on me! Hahaaaa she is like shelled puppy. The arapaima, I think just has been trained very well. Fish are smarter than ppl give them credit for. My mini monsters blew away sometimes. I have a little yellow belly. Some how I brought him home. Now I collect young crayfish in the spring and clean them, and use them as food, and cleaners in my big boy tank. Well he must have been wrapped up in the horn wort. I have had since he was probably only a few days old. He was barely a inch. Now he is 10inches. He got stuck in his log. My painted turtle actually cracked log enough for Walter to get free. Watched all go down. They have a tight bond. They are always sharing the big log now.

I would be careful about how bright the lighting will be. A lot of them fish, really do not like bright lights and it could go against you, with fish stressing out.

If you can't feed the predators for several days before the move is there a higher risk of them eating the other fish or each other? Just curious. I'm sure this entire move is very stressful for you with your "babies" I know those arapaima are as special to you as they would be to me!
The main issue is them going to the bathroom in the water then sitting in it for however long until they have an aquarium set up for them. That water could kill more than just 1-2 fish

Hey rod watching the video again and watching the Oscar section, with white Oscar’s there’s 2 types there’s albino and lutino. To my knowledge albino have the red eyes and are usually more white bodied , the lutino usually have normal eyes and get the black on the fins and sometimes a bit of there body

Turtles can aspirate water if transported in water. Moving Pig-Nosed Turtles is best done in a tub with a soft cushion to stop compression sores.

Hey buddy just a Canadian boy’s suggestion, for shipping the big Arapaima instead of cutting a hole in the tote, unscrew the lid and line the opening with a pool noodle so the fish does not get injured when placing it in the tote. Then you can screw the lid back on and ship it without any water spilling. Once it has reached the new shop in New York, you can simply cut the whole top off the tote. Then you can safely remove the fish.
PS - I’m super interested in buying two Sturgeon, but I know you don’t ship to Canada. Any way you can hook a Canadian boy up?

Try clove oil to anesthetize the monsters before loading and off loading them. I have used clove oil ( 15 drops in a 30 gall tub ) on 85 cm koi and iridescent sharks with great efficiency and resuscitation took but a few minutes. I realize the arapaima is much larger but it may still work.
Maybe Paul Cuffaro would be willing to take a couple of them in. Especially since he’s got the new house and all those monster fish in his big ponds

Where I live there are so many weather related issues and power outages that I can not keep a tank of my own but I could spend a whole day sitting in Predatory Fins just watching the fish! Rod would throw me out of that place lol!😅😁
I suggest wearing protection when moving the paima maybe even a helmet 😅
Moving those giants gonna be hella hard i suggest you use a solution to knock them out like make them numb so you can transfer them to the moving tank easier

Hope someone reads this. It is about your move to New York. Please research if you should eat local honey for awhile.. I developed allergies later in life. I was told, not by anyone in the medical field, that "I SHOULD HAVE EATEN (a tablespoon a day?) HONEY WHEN I MOVED TO A NEW LOCATION to alleviate allergies." Could be just an old wives tail. :-(

Everytime I’ve ever purchased online they’ve arrived dead. Which is the only reason I’ve never ordered from yall. If I get 2. The chances of both of them arriving dead is slim to none.
