Dr. Barbieri, your channel is very informative, and it's clear that a lot of effort has gone into it. As a dermatology resident, I’d like to make a suggestion: using a microphone and simplifying certain terms (such as in vitro/in vivo) could help you reach a much broader audience. I also use instagram to address common misconceptions about dermatological conditions, and those strategies helped my channel grow. People have so much to learn from a scientist like you. Can't wait to watch your upcoming videos! 🍀
Thanks for the suggestions! What microphone do you suggest (ideally not expensive and something where I'm not going to need to be syncing up audio due to latency)? I record the videos on an iPhone.
Thanks for the video. I was on Clindamyacin+tret (treclinac) and it completely cleared my acne, but I stopped after 5 months and the acne came back soon after. I started usinh it again with benzoyl peroxide wash but it doesn't work at all. Could it be anti biotic resistance and would moving from topical to oral antibiotic help?
This channel is not for personal medical advice, so I cannot speak to your specific question. We can see antibiotic resistance emerge with clindamycin used without benzoyl peroxide. Sometimes acne can become worse as we get older too, which can result in treatments that used to work not being strong enough anymore.
In some individuals with challenging acne or rosacea, we do use chronic low dose isotretinoin. It is important to note that there is more uncertainty around the safety of more chronic regimens as we don't have much data for this setting.
Can I do surgery on my body ( not my face ) while taking Accutane ? Or better to wait until finishing the course? And how long should I wait ? (( It’s not emergency, it can be delayed )
This channel is not for medical advice, so I cannot speak to your situation. For most major surgeries, the surgeon often wants to wait until stopping isotretinoin for at least a few weeks.

@DrJohnBarbieri I'm using DJI Mic (1 TX+1 RX) wireless. I haven't experienced any audio latency so far. Hope this helps🙏
Thanks for sharing! I'm not sure that I can afford that :(
Thank you again for your content. You deliver more information in your videos than anyone in dermatology.

Can Accutane 5mg be taken indefinitely thrice a week for people who always relapse when they stop taking the drug?
