Thanks for sharing your video. I get so frustrated when moms put each other down for being a working mom, stay at home mom, work at home mom etc. I feel like you validated all of us by saying we all have hard jobs. I appreciate that a lot. Us moms have to stick together in this craziness :)
My favorite way to unwind and recharge my mom batteries is to watch a little youtube, work in my bullet journal, and enjoy a cup of coffee after the hubby and toddler are in bed for the night. It gives me a much needed recharge at the end of the week and I know it makes me a better wife and mother for it.

Loved this video!! Nurse and mom of three kiddos here. I love taking a bath with some epsom salt and lavender oil. Sometimes I play relaxing music if I'm super stressed. I am by no means perfect, but try to stick to us certain routine to stay on top of things in the house. For instance I do one load of clothes at night, I always clean up the kitchen right after dinner is over and that way I don't have to come back to it. I always packed lunches while I'm making dinner so I only have the mess out once. I vacuumed a certain night of the week, dust on the certain night of the week, Etc. By doing one chore a day it helps me stay more on top of it and not feel like I'm constantly drowning.

"Feed your soul". YES!!!! So important to take time for yourself. The dishes and laundry can wait. My sanity is more of a priority. LOL! Things I do to combat exhaustion...I try to get at least 6-7 hours of sleep a night. I drink a lot of water and take my vitamin D supplement religiously. Vitamin D deficiency can cause you to feel weak and exhausted. It is also linked to depression. Your videos are always so helpful and motivating. Thank you for taking the time to create these videos for your subscribers. Mahalo from Maui!

For me I love getting "unready" for the day once my son goes to sleep. I watch TH-cam videos on my phone while doing my nightly routine of washing my face, etc, and it really makes me feel like I'm taking good care of myself and I look forward to it every night! I like to take a bath every once and a while too. Longest comment ever but to any moms feeling stressed, I've definitely been there as the overwhelmed mom (we all have!) Just remember, this too shall pass! ❤️

Jia thank you so much for taking the time to respond in a video! You have no idea how much it means to me and I will apply these tips to my life. You are so right that the way we tend to portray our lives on social media isn't always the way it truly looks on the inside. I am so relieved that I am not alone in the way I feel sometimes. Above all I am so thankful for my family and the life that I live because although I get overwhelmed I am still so blessed! Thank you so much again! It is truly appreciated!

As your kids get older it really does get easier. It's important to be organized decide whats important and what isn't and be kind to yourself and your kids. I think the most important thing is to prioritize your time with your kids. It goes so fast and those memories and making sure they have their needs meet is what lasts. You and the kids wont remember that your house was messy or the laundry didn't get folded, but you will remember the time you spent with them. Thanks so much for making such a great "real" channel!

Love this video! After my husband and I do our evening routine we have a cup of tea and I watch TH-cam. After that we will watch some tv. Sometimes I read a book or just take a bath. Once every 6 weeks to 2 months I just plan a me day. My husband stays home with the kids and I just take a day off. I go out to lunch, have a facial, maybe go to the hairdresser, those kind of things. I love those days for myself, it energizes me a lot!

Yes Queeen . My name is Tina, I'm 20 years old, married, and my daughter will be 1 next month and I'm trying to stop breastfeeding.... on top of me running 2 businesses from home .......the universe knows I needed this ..... my father always tells me that one day I'll meet strong minded women that are doing the same things I'm doing or trying to do, and they'll encourage me or maybe even help me along the way or potentially become like minded friends. This video made me feel all those things. Thankyou ... sending positivity and blessings ! Maybe one day well cross paths !!!.

I loved this video! Knowing I'm not alone is so helpful. I also go for the mindless television. At the end of the evening I just need half an hour or so to kind of turn my brain off and just sit. I did learn that "blue light" from electronics severely impacts our sleep so I try to turn the TV off an hour before bed and just be with my husband that last hour. Also, I was drinking coffee like it was going out of style. Since leaving the electronics alone before bed and making a 1pm cut off time for caffeine, what little sleep I do get has been so much better. I agree that routines are so crucial. I get up an hour or so earlier than I need to and clean. Whatever doesn't get done can wait until the next morning or the weekend. The only cleaning I do after work is the dinner dishes and wiping down the high chair. Sometimes you just have to cut yourself off so you can focus on the family or taking care of yourself. :)

Thank you for this video. I have been watching you for some time and some how missed this video. I am a military spouse, mother, and middle school teacher. My husband is deployed at least 75% of the year. That is not an exaggeration nor am I looking for empathy. It’s just nice that people like yourself recognize the truths as what we go through. The only thing I differ from you is that I do not get much spousal support nor do I have family around to take the kids. I live oceans away from physical support, but staying positive is key.
Thanks again for the video. I love listening to you while I run around on the weekend to keep the house in order. I’m too busy to watch tv so I’m a TH-cam listener.

I often had trouble letting go, relaxing and pushing some tasks off to the next day but years ago, a friend of mine said something like, "The dust and dirt? Oh honey, don't worry about them. They're not going anywhere. They'll still be there tomorrow, they love you. And they love you so much, they might have even asked some of their friends over. But one day, your kids will be grown up and they will leave." I laughed so hard but still think of this comment so often when I feel pressured but am exhausted. Like Jia said, don't be hard on yourself. Put your kids and partner and yourself at the forefront.

I'm responding as I watch your video! So here's my 3rd comment😬 Things I do for me to help me be a better person: I practice yoga, do yoga nidra(guided meditation), get plenty of sleep and eat healthy. I will confess I am 58 and my husband and I are retired. So our big area of focus is becoming the best we can be for ourselves and others. Oh and we were given this cute doggie as a surprise last Christmas Eve from our daughter. She makes us laugh everyday!

Great video! I agree with your tip about food. When I feel exhausted I try to make myself a smoothie everyday for my breakfast, eat more greens and cut on pastas/bread/rice. Also take time to breathe! You can find great little videos on TH-cam about Guided Mindfulness meditation which can be a great help when you feel overwhelmed... Now that my kids are a bit older (4 and 8) [which means they sleep all night!] I made a habit to wake up before everyone and take time to exercise, read and plan my day. It has had a poweful impact until now!

    • @MarriageMotherhood
      @MarriageMotherhood  7 ปีที่แล้ว

I'll definitely have to look into that. I definitely want to wake up early. I'm going to take advantage of the time change in a few weeks so that I can workout in the morning. Thanks for sharing!

Just found your channel, and I had to share it with my sisters! My mom raised us on a routine and I can’t run my household without it,! Lol... I like to crochet and plan in my happy planner to keep myself balanced. I use a chore list for each child, I have three, and a am/pm routine for my younger girls. Everyone is included in the family task list, and hubby gets a hunny-do list every week. You are so right about routine being important .... Taylor try everything and pick what works best for everyone in your family. Even if it’s post it’s everywhere! Good luck #teammommy

I know this video came out a year ago but I just watched it. And oh my God I could have not have watched this video at a better time. I literally had like a nervous breakdown because I did not know what I was doing to balance work life mommylife wifey life home life all the life's. I ended up crying to my husband and we spoke about it and I don't find joy in things that I do because I was trying to have the house cleaned by a certain time have all the clothes washed by a certain time I hated staying late at work because it took time away from home and this video just really helped me this video is a blessing I really do believe that there was a reason why I clicked on this video and I thank you for making it even though it was a year ago.

I like just remembering there is a new day around the corner and being done with the crap days and. I am overwhelmed. Great topic! I'm a social worker and these are All things I teach my clients!! ...self time and routines. It is also so important to be in touch with your body reactions and emotions so you can recognize when you need "me time" before it gets to the point you are overwhelmed. My me time is just sitting in the quiet doing absolutely nothing but enjoying and appreciating the quiet.

I keep a diary where I put down my goals, both for the day and the year, every day I write three or four things I am happy for that happened that day, it is also a place where I keep track on my prayer requests and my personal bible study. I just wish I did this every day. It is one of these things I'm not always up for but am so grateful for afterwards!

TESTIMONY: So, I was a lot like Taylor I have two babies under 2 years old. My oldest was 14 months old when his brother was born. I live in a town with very little family and my husband works offshore. Also, like a lot of you all I worked a full time job as well. So fast forward to when the infant was 5 months and the toddler was 19 months, I was so tired all the time. I would try routines and nothing worked because I was so exhausted. During this time, I felt a huge knot on my neck and didn't know what it was. I visited my PCP and found out that no only was my Thyroid, B12, and iron levels extremely low, but I also had a growth on my thyroid gland. I had to have surgery to have it removed and I still take vitamins to level myself out when it comes to energy.
So my advice, being a mommy is just like any other job you have (only you never get off lol), get a"fit-for-duty" test. Make sure your health in up to par because exhaustion is serious and it will make you think you can't handle the blessing you've been given.
Jia, Great vid!! I admire your transparency and love your energy. I subscribed a few months ago and have enjoyed every bit of your content! Keep it up!

You're amazing. I didn't even need to hear you say you were a Christ-follower to know you were. Thank you for the inspiration to start my TH-cam channel. I have wanted to for the longest with no clue as to what to do it on.... I think I'll just share my life!! The way you are! God bless you dear, keep strong in the faith... As for sweet Taylor, we are ALL in that boat! Whether people want to admit it or not. This was great advice...and finding something to do to revitalize yourself can be hard when you've lost yourself in all your titles...but just take 5 minutes to think about it daily until you find what it is!

I struggle with this as well and have searched youtube for "working mom" videos to help and found very little out there. Or maybe I am searching incorrectly lol. I have even thought about creating my own channel. It seems like there is a lot of stay at home content out there which is very helpful but I have a hard time relating to it as my schedule is a very fixed one as a work outside the home mom... I have found eating healthy keeps me going like you suggested. Fruits and veggies make my body feel better and can tell a big difference if I start getting off track. One trick I have used to help me is changing the term "finding" time to "making" time. If you use the word "find" that implies that there is still a chance your search will come up short. But use the word "make" and you have already gone that extra step in following through. I make time for myself. Just a little change in thinking can have a huge impact.

I love your videos so much! My refocus is to watch TH-cam videos to get inspired to find ways to run my home more efficiently but I love getting to know people in their videos. Also minimizing my and my daughters wardrobe has allowed me to cut laundry time down. I use to have 4-6 loads and separated by color. It was an ordeal. I also don't use a dresser for us (my husband does, but he does his own laundry), but decorative baskets from Marshall's. If it doesn't fit I get rid of an item!

I am a mother of two girl...3 and 1. I have asked myself those same question. In the past 3 months I have learned that it will get done when it gets done! I was causing myself to have anxiety attacks. I had to just learn that it WILL get done, eventually. 😹

Hi there. New subbie here. This was so needed. I no longer have little ones, but even as a mom with a teen at home and two adult children living outside the home. Yes, all moms are putting in work! Exhaustion will happen, but lately I have been doing a mile walk at least 3 days per week and it truly helps! Also, social media posts are not always as real as they seem. I used to envy people for various reasons, but everyone has some sort of struggle. Love the name, by the way. #GIA

Thank you so much for this video!!! I needed to see a video like this, because there are definitely times when I feel that I am overwhelmed and need encouragement. I do like the hack of having routines. I am trying now to revamp my weekly routines, so I am not so busy on the weekend. I have been so tired lately, that even the routines I have in place are not effective. What is your hack for the mom who is tired, want to go home cook dinner and just go to bed (which never happens), just asking (lol)?

This was great! And everything was spot on. I have a 3 year old and a 16 month old. I am a married working mom as well. It does get a little overwhelming sometime. If I didn't have a routine I would go crazy! I have to keep things in my planner, and I have to write a to do list almost EVERY DAY or else I would not be able to keep track of all the bills, responsibilities, etc. The major key is staying organized, being proactive, and always being open to trying no ways of doing things!

I feel like im drowning here.the fay dont have enough hours for me.i wish i could stay home, but im from norway, and there is really no way to survive on one income here.it is impossible.
how can u help someone like me? from the time i come home, till the kids must go to bed,is all from 45 minutes till 2.5 hours. depending on when i start and finish my work that day

It sounds like you need to have a serious conversation with your husband. Let him know how you feel and what he needs to help you with. Just ask him to do the things you need him to help you do. Don't just say I need you to help me around the house, say something like this "Can you please do the dishes after dinner? or Fold the laundry? I hope this helps.
