Thank you... i did the same thing on my 650 versy, the givi med size for our bike... it looks the same... fixed any wind buffeting, i am a taller rider... i look over the top two and drive alot of freeways, at high speed 80 to 100 it forms an air bubble of calm air... i am a senior and newish rider, this is my senior hobby... great for bugs, in a light rain at 80 you get a two inch view of clear over the winshield as it pushes the rain up and over you, if that makes sence to you, some people might know what i mean.... best wishes, dave AZ
Thank you Dave. I'm glad to hear the windshield is working out for you. I'm a new older rider also. Thanks for sharing your experience in rain. I haven't been caught in the rain as yet. It's comforting to know the Givi is still good cutting through the rain. Blessings bro.
Dave, how tall are you and what part number is the Givi windscreen that you use. I am 5’-7” and considering the Givi D4132S. It is 2” shorter than the one on this video (height is 48cm or 18.9 in). Thank You !
Just installed this windshield, and boy, did it make a difference. There is a but, though. I have to use it in its lowest position and had to adjust the right mirror arm because the windshield hits on full left lock. I would love to be able to lift it up a couple of inches, and then it would be perfect. For me to achieve that, I'd need to find an alternative mirror option 😱 Did you have any fitment issues?
That is great to hear you got the install done. I did have the mirror arm touch on full lock when the shield is up. For me, it's only an issue when I'm parking. When I'm parking, I lower it and I am ok. I ride with it up when I don't want the wind.
I'm only 5'7" (168cm), and since the weather warmed up, I can barely see out of my face shield after a couple hours of riding from all the bugs hitting it with the stock windscreen. I just added a tank bag (Givi MT505) to the bike on Friday, and now carry a moist microfibre cloth with me for cleaning on the go. The "S" screen is 48cm (18.9") high, and the "ST" is 54.5cm (21.5"). I'm hoping that the extra 4" of the "S" will be enough for my height. We'll see when it gets here. Wonder why the short one is smoked though, while the tall one is clear? I'd prefer transparent, but it might match the black Versys okay. It is also $2 more expensive at F9.
I suspect that the taller windscreen is clear because you have to look through it and Givi might not want the liability when night riding as you might get a bit of glare. How do you like the tank bag?
As you say, I can see the taller one not being smoked, but there is no option for clear in the shorter windscreen. I should be able to see over it though. As for the tank bag, I'd been riding the bike without the side cases on it for the past 3 months, so I had to wear a small backpack. Having the tank bag is so convenient. Even though I wanted the larger XS307, the MT505 will probably do the job, while saving me a few dollars. Still new to me yet, but liking it a lot so far.
Agreed, it would be nice if the shorter windscreen came in both options. I am thinking about the tank bag. Not sure I really need it. I'm not going to rule it out though.
@@NarrowRoadRider I can't see owning a bike without a tank bag again after just that one trip. Well, unless it was an NT750X. I have in it: a face shield cloth, reading glasses, allergy pills and similar medication, snacks, extra earplugs, a small water bottle, and there is still lot more room for things like keys, wallet, sunglasses, light gloves, a hat, etc. More than that, and the side cases can go on. No more bag on my back.
I still don't get what Kawasaki was thinking then they installed that small nonsense. It's a bike for tall people, at least 1,75 (I'm 1,80m), and the stock windshield is SO noisy! Ordered the givi too. Thanks for sharing!
You're welcome my friend. I'm 6 foot 4 inches tall. It did reduce the wind noise. At the low level I get wind but when I raise it up, no wind or buffeting at all.
Does it mess with the front stability on the highway? That's my main concern, otherwise looks great. Taller rider here and the wind buffeting is unbearable
I don't have any issues on the highway. At 100km/h (62 mph) the bike is still very stable. Also, the windshield is mounted on the bike not attached to the forks so you don't get the wind vibrations. It made a noticeable difference in the riding comfort.
@@NarrowRoadRider thank you for the feedback. Everyone is fear mongering me saying i will change the bike geometry and aerodynamics. But thanks for the reassurance i will go ahead and purchase it
Hi my friend. I am 6feet 4inches (195cm) tall. I agree, the stock windshield is really bad for taller riders. If you make the switch, let me know what you think. Blessings.

@@HazardSports I'm also 5'7". Did you get the shorter wind screen?
I have the same problem. I will be upgrading to this windshield! Thanks for sharing.
Glad to share. It made a big difference for my rides.

I hear you. The tank bag adds another level of convenience since it's literally right infront of you. I am really considering one now. 😀

No problem. I'm sure you will enjoy your rides without all the buffeting.
Your welcome. You will find the rides more enjoyable without the buffeting.
I tried the Givi transparent windscreen on my versys 650 2023 model but my barkbusters were touching the windscreen so i returned it
Sorry to hear that. It sounds like the Barkbusters have a different profile from the factory hand guards. Thanks for sharing your experience.
hi mate! how tall are you? i am 185 cm and the buffeting is significant with the stock one. i think i will switch givi. how tall are you mate? cheerz!

Just wanna ask how's the givi windshield against scratches as the stock windshield gets scratch easily? Thanks
It is better than the stock windshield in my opinion however, it will get scratches.
How tall are you ?
I want buy this givi windwcreen by i'm 1.70 meter. It's too high ? (Windscreen)
I'm 6 feet 4 inches (1.95M). You might be looking through the windshield. Givi also offers one that's about two inches lower.
@@NarrowRoadRider thanks for your answer
do you have a givi reference for the little one ?
The Givi D4132S is lower than the D4132ST. They are both on the Givi website.
