No, he wouldn't have. Brenda was very irresponsible, and they let her get away with everything. Jim was going to let go to Mexico with her boyfriend for the weekend when she was only 16. She stayed over Dylan's house and broke the rules. She went to Paris for an entire summer. When she got arrested to vandalize the research facility, Jim paid all her legal expenses and let her stay in his house rent-free. Brenda was a spoiled little girl who had her dad wrapped around her finger

Also, she still broke the rules when she fell asleep after her father trusted her enough to let her go to Mexico with her boyfriend. My father would have never let me or my brothers go to Mexico with our partner at 16 years old. And instead of taking responsibility, she lied to everyone and snuck away to Mexico. Then she got detained by the police and her father had to bail her out again. The excuses people make for Brenda is embarrassing

This is for the people in the comments saying Jim would have punished Brenda. No he wouldn't have. Brenda was an irresponsible spoiled little girl who got away with everything. Jim was going to let Brenda go to Mexico with her boyfriend when she was only 16 and then she slept over his house. Her parents paid for her summer vaction in Paris. When Brenda got arrested like an idiot for vandalizing the research facility, Jim paid her legal expenses. He also continued letting her stay in his house rent-free like she always did. Brenda never had to get a real job for more than a couple of weeks. She had her parents wrapped around her little finger
Thank you. The Brenda fanatics on here are insane. The excuses they make for her irresponsible behavior is embarrassing. I think they project their own feelings onto her. Brenda compared to Brendan was irresponsible and spoiled. Even Shannon said an interview back in the early 90s that she didn’t have a lot in common with her character. While Shannon herself was a hard worker and starting working at a young age, Brenda sort of leeched off her parents. Shannon also grew up conservative and respected her parents rules as a teenager while Brenda constantly lied and broke her parents rules
