Besides, IN ADDITION to all of that, in CINEMA at least, if it was a male AND if he was in any WAY guilty of the r-worded deed, the film would almost without even REMOTELY giving it anything resembling a second though, introduce an "I Spit On Your Grave"-like vengeance scenario OR, if it involved looking at it from the perspective of say a suffering female victim, a Stanislavsky like outcome filled with a very tragic consequence like that or at least long sessions of suffering.

Yeah. This was even considered illegal in those times. I think he took it easy on her because he cared for her and felt sorry for her. I saw clips on here where he broke up with her because of it. If this was a male character that did it to a female character. I think things would have played out differently.

When I first saw Emily Valentine, I thought it WAS a man.
I was in junior high when this came out. She was totally portrayed as a villain and everybody absolutely HATED her character.
