Thank you Billy, I did try using different blades and I did find one that work alot better than I thought it would. I really appreciate you and what you do. Thank you again for everything and the advice

This was maybe my favorite scroll saw piece you’ve done. You are inspiring me to get my ideas out of my head and on to wood.

Awe thanks! It's one of mine too because I drew it. It feels like mine from beginning to end.

I say thee nay! (reading a lot of Thor recently) You can absolutely do it. Try it. Pick a really hard one picture. In total seriousness, do it.

Good afternoon Billy, I have been following you for a while, with this channel and with the other channel, and you create the most fantastic things. I currently own a scroll saw, and I am just beginning this new adventure and I am having a lot of deflection with my blade? It is a Hawk scroll saw. I am just trying to decide is it me or it that the way it is? I have been noticing when you cut, there is very little deflection and it cuts right through the material. If I put anymore tension on the blade it snaps apart. I am considering buying an excalibur but I notice they are a green color now and I really like the black. Please if you do not mind could you help me with this problem that I am having. I love all of the features on this scroll saw as well, with the tilting head instead of the table tilting.

From my understanding, Hawk scroll saws are great tools. I've never personally used one. I tension the blade to the point where I can pluck it like a string on an instrument. I don't feel like I over tension because I rarely break blades. I'm simply speculating but perhaps the deflection you're seeing is not about blade tension and instead is about the blade size verse material you cut. If you haven't already, try a larger blade. Or (shameless plug) try a different type of blade I mention in my blade shootout video. A new saw is expensive. You can get my identical saw (in black) on Amazon for about $900. If you haven't already, try several blade sizes or types because blades are super cheap in comparison to buying a new tool.

Wonderful project! Also What do you think is a good beginner scroll saw?

I'd recommend the best one you can afford and perhaps look for a used one. People are always selling them and you can probably find a high quality tool for a lot less than a new one. That's what I did.

@@NewtonMakesArt If you are sure you are going to like scrolling, as Billy said, get the best one you can afford. Make sure it can use pinless blades!
