Mustafa's worst enemy was his own mother. Without her influence he would not have continued to make so many poor decisions and would have settled well into his position as the eldest son. He would then have only needed to 'sort' things with his brothers for the throne. It would always have ended with winner takes all.
I always thought Mustafa is a bit harsh with Rüstem, even when he was kind and offered him help. He pushed Rüstem to a corner, instead of making him think of another possibility, in which he would work for Mustafa. But the prince pushed him right into Hürrem’s hands
that's false because rustem was always with hurrem and hurrem always see mustafa as a threat so rustem wasnt kind but more hypocrit , he always created problems and troubles for mustafa like the case with iskender who was a traitor instead of piri pasha , until mustafa did got there and explain everything to suleiman, in fact , rustem was already doomed to be mihrimah and hurrem's ally since he become her husband so he would have never served or helped mustafa anyway
What's sad is, Mustafa did most of this to himself. He had good intentions of course, but he was naive and arrogant, in no part thanks to his mom. He could have played the game wisely but, he thought none of his misdeeds would burn him even as they continued to. All it took was one lie, one straw that broke the camels back, and he was gone. His father had his own paranoia that had nothing at all to do with Hurrem too, and it didn't help that everyone was out for themselves around him, or were too obsessed with taking Hurrem down. What a mess.
What Mustafa was arrogant 😂. Sultan was just insecure that Mustafa is better than him. Hurram made Suleiman believe that Mustafa is a traitor by manipulating the facts and creating fake evidence. Mustafa could even take Suleiman down as he was strong enough with the army on his side.

Mustafa did himself in by not listening to those who tried to protect him. He was too good of a person to be around all those dark things.
