Some good questions and sensible answers. Well done David 👍. Another endorsement of the CCKO brand as well. I definitely have walking poles on my wish list. No mishaps yet but I need to take preventative measures. Cheers, Jeff
D Griff Gallery a circular ND is something I’m looking forward to from NiSi with NiSi glass. When it’s really windy this would be essential 😍 hope your keeping well young man?
@@DGriffGallery your opinions on gear is always valid, as I know by your own admission your not using top end additional gear, and due to this its achievable for all the amateurs. I've been considering some filters but don't have the best part of £500.00 to spend!!! I'd rather put that to other means! That's what I appreciate from you, honest sound advice Mate. 👍📸
Really sorry, that was so long ago I have no idea now. I can say that Urth filters (previously AKA Gobe) are very good as I have used them more recently. Hope that helps 😊👍
@@DGriffGallery No problem Dave. Got those in my Amazon cart at the moment, worth a shot, so thanks. Some manufacturers recommend higher grade filters in their lineup for telephoto work - I can only guess that this is due to imperfections in the lesser quality glass that degrade the image when magnification is high, or it is a marketing ploy?
Good questions & answers Mr G. Can I ask or add a response to the hard grad scenario. Not sure if I am totally corect but believe that a hard grad in effect becomes a soft grad when used in conjuction with a long lens?
Re the Variable ND I agree they are useful but in practice I only get about 3 to 4 stops before the dreaded X appears, especially with wider angle lenses. How have you found your ccko brand for that?
To be fair I've found the same on a previous one I had, but I bought this one when I switched to Olympus as I needed a bigger thread diameter, and it's been fine.
@@DGriffGallery I bought the brand linked on your web site and you are right, it gives me a good 6 stops with no X problem. And it costs a third of what my old var ND did. Thanks for that, it saves me carrying around 3 extra square filters.
Youngsters like you calling yourselves ‘old gits’, what does that make us mature people? Must say I can’t see any degradation or colour cast in my new £17 CCKO vari grad. Perhaps that’s my ancient eyes. Nice video, David.
Haha, sorry, but I feel the need to differentiate myself from the young whippersnappers frequenting TH-cam! And, you’re spot on: CCKO can often work just fine 😊👍🏻
Sizer hi, all my kit is listed here: dgriff.gallery/equipment/ no step down rings though as I only need one lens. Just do an Amazon search and you’ll get lots of choice 😊👍🏻
Thank you for answering my question re focus bracketing etc.
You're more than welcome Robert - I know it was a bit "general" but hopefully somewhat helpful? 😊👍
Thanks again, very informative
You're very welcome as always - many thanks for watching 😊👍🏻

Never better - now I'd be VERY interested in replacing my CCKO with Nisi - 72mm please 😊👍🏻
Some great advice. Can’t fault the get out there and try it. Only way to learn. 👍
Yeah, I’m always amazed how many photographers tie themselves in knots about gear and techniques instead of just practicing as much as they can 😊👍🏻
Great advice as always David, thanks for sharing Mate, 👍📸
To be fair mate don’t think there’s much I can teach someone of your capabilities 😊👍🏻

Hi Dave, care to identify the actual brand for the var ND, please. I have had bad luck buying cheap ones before. Cheers 🍻

That's perfectly true as the transition is super blurred close to the lens. 😊👍🏻
