  • Kia EV6 - How to use Auto Regenerative braking,Auto-Regen & iPedal.Update from comments, you can set the regen modes if you have it in drive mode while not moving, including auto regen and iPedal.
Of course you can also use regen paddles to apply regen if you really want or even stop the car this way but brake pedal is blended with regen so why would you want to?

I like saving petrol by allowing my car to roll down hills, I like the idea of generating fuel by doing it even more 😁

I also noted that auto regen also regens when you use the braking pedal, mening it automatically uses the regen to break insead of the brakingdiscs

I love using the paddles to slow and stop.

I use auto-Regen all the time. But do use paddle shifters to decrease Regen level. Uphill and uphill only you can get level 0
Regen. Else it is level 1 max.
I try to adjust regen level on auto. And love that cruise control kicks in and helps if you get too close to car in front.

Yes that’s probably a better way to get more out of it.

Any way to turn off the 'ping' when selecting the i-Pedal regen mode (lv 4)? This is the only mode in which the car comes to a complete standstill so I often use the pedals to shift from Lv 1 up to Lv 4 in order to prevent having to use the brake pedal at all, but this constantly activates the ping sound.

No way to turn off pings but also i wouldn’t be afraid to use the brake pedal as it’s blended brake & regen, harder you press the more brake i think according to other comments on this video.Braking regen can be proven by looking in the energy usage screen just like in this video.

It seems that higher regen levels make the car more “clunky”, so less reactive to the accelerator pedal, especially when coming from a standstill. Is there a setting somewhere to overcome this?

    • @evodessey

All the settings i know about are in the video.

You have to be in Drive to change regen... car does not need to actually move. Auto regen really works best with low regen settings, as it otherwise have little leftover regen to play with (if level 3 you are nearly at max regen when lifting you foot, so auto regen have not alot regen left to apply). Also if Auto is grey it works like manual regen, if its green auto text its thing... if the radar is blocked the auto regen stops (just like SCC).. also your brake pedal is blending in regen when you use it (also works best in low regen settings for same reason)

Cheers knew about camera blocking stopping it from having Snow on camera last year.Other information is useful to know.

Also worth noting that the rear brake lights automatically come on when regen engages and set at anything above level 1

Cheers, aware of brake lights coming on. I have a video coming on the brake lights when i can finish it.

At all times or at a certain point in decelleration? It's hard to see but I remember driving at night and noticing that in Lv 2 it doesn't come on until you completely let go of the pedal. Still trying to figure out how far I can lift in order to prevent the lights from coming on and annoying traffic behind me.

You can also regen manually by holding the left lever when you have set regen level to zero

    • @evodessey

True.I deliberately left out regen paddles because i thought everybody knew😂.Never assume anything😂.Had an e-Niro for 18 months so used regen paddles once and found easier ways after that so didn’t even know my habits were prejudicing my videos whoops…I just set Auto Regen Level 3 then don’t mess. That’s my way.Not saying it’s the right way but each to their own.

Awesome! I had ask the salesman if the EV6 had a manual regen option on the steering wheel similar to my Chevy Volt. He wasnt sure as that is new to him. Though, I gotten so used to iPedal mode that i dont use any other regen setting.

    • @evodessey
      @evodessey  หลายเดือนก่อน

I don’t use them because of i-Pedal & Auto regen. Regen needs to vary depending on terrain & driving conditions otherwise too much regen will kill your range.
