Most time if you push in on the wire into the molex connector first hold it in while pushing in the tool then push plunger you will release the catch and the wire will come out easy.
I love watching your videos! It reminds of when I was a kid and went to work with my dad on weekends and no school days. He did HVAC all his life. A lot has changed since he died in 83! You do nice work brother! Thanks for the vids and if you keep making them, I’ll keep watching them!
I could t leave this furnace like this. I had to sell the owner a new board just for a circuit breaker and mounting bracket. Not sure how anyone would walk away from this
Great FIX....very nessary to have the back board with plastic standoffs to the top board to avoid any shorts on the back side and correct the wiring problems 😀👍
Ole Dave Lennox would not be proud of the mess you had to clean up. Nothing worse than having to come behind some jack leg so called HVAC tech and make things right‼️ GREAT JOB‼️
Yes not sure how someone can walk away from a circuit board with only one mount holding it in place. Lucky the old boards mounting bracket wasn't all black with welding marks. Their electrical panel is a federal pacific with the stab-lok breakers that are notorious for fires
If the pin pusher is made right you should not have to fight with it. I do know sometimes I had to push the wire back into the plug a little before the pusher could hold the little barb in. I did a lot of pin pushing back in the early 70s installing equipment.
Great job, Can't believe a previous person would leave that board in such a condition. With the high limit out of the circuit is a recipe for burning a house down. Was it the home owner or another tech? Good thing you fixed it right. Thanks for the video.
i worked for my father for years in the hvac and restaurant repair business and all i got was a free lunch. when i got older my younger brother took over for me and dad bought him lunch and paid him too

I know you're really not supposed to rip into your competitors however its so difficult when you move into a job and find blatant disregard for everything. I might be crazy but that board just free floating in the air where natural gas is in use....seems really dangerous/potential for a bad accident. The previous guy was worse than a hack in my opinion.
This is what happens when homeowners watch yootoob videos on how to repair their A/C and heating system or a poorly trained tech.... Thats scary stuff man. Just realize this, This what you encountered, is the reflection of the actual quality of the education system new techs paid for and are going into the field with.. Keep that in mind.. scary times lie ahead my friend.. Those boards are very versitile if you know what you are doing.. I have repurposed many of them to do jobs outside of traditional home HVAC use. For example I took the one from my old Goodman system (it went bad the flame chanber cracked and leaked CO so I had to replace it ASAP) and repurposed it in my RV trailer with a regular digital thermostat bought from home depot to control the rooftop A/C and heating unit, Instead of paying $400 like a fool for the thermostat kit from the RV place.. I should mention that I have degrees in electrical and electronics engineering and I am a career RF engineer just so people do not think I am sone yoohoo DIYing shit they know nothing about but pretend I do.. So much of that exists in the world and those people are dangerous IMO.. Those boards also have a pine based resin coating on them to protect it from moisture. you can smell it when you solder on them.. FYI: When you crimp those connectors the split in the crimp part of the connector goes in the valley of the crimping tool where the extrusion of the tool os pressing on the backside of the connector and will leave the indention on the backside., You did it backwards and that crimp will fail in time.. It's a common mistake made by many many people but when you crimp it should not go "POP"
That board is from Lennox, It's the OEM upgraded board. Lennox LB-109531A Surelight Ignition control Replacement Kit 83M00. I'm guessing the original board had too many failures, why Lennox or White Rodgers decided to upgrade it. This seems to be common on Lennox systems. So many different circuit board upgrades. Some require replacing all the wires in the system.
Nice job, take a look at what I had this past Friday on my channel Oldtime Heating and Cooling Service. Let me know what you think. Never seen a board blowup like I found, but it went under water, sewage water at that.
How do you know it was an owner or someone who doesn’t know what they are doing my first thought when I saw the state of that board was someone intentionally being malicious to the people of the household.
Once again, you fixed a mess left by someone else. Did the person that put this in never test it? And yeah, safety sensors really are overrated. Until you need them.
They might have tested it yet not didn't engage the clips on Molex plug. With the board vibrating over the summer it wiggled free. The condo owner told me it was done spring beginning of summer.
Yes many may not like that systems change the board and a upgrade kit is needed for board replacements. Yet at least do it correctly. If I spliced the blue wire instead of trying to remove the pin from molex plug the job would of been quicker

wow !! what a real mess you had to clean up ,lucky for the owner you knew how to fix it and make it ready for the cold weather !

That is a messed up situation there. The high limit and rollout were both bypassed ? Crazy. Good fix there, you gotta have some patience.
