Love the whole tea & chat idea! And I love Audrey Hepburn as well. My dad passed away last year and our "thing" we shared (besides our love of baseball) was classic movies. I miss being able to watch with him and discuss those great actors. But I'm able to share that love with my kids and they all love to watch classic movies because of my dad and I. Oh, and Yorkshire Gold is a mainstay in our tea cabinet. 😊
I’m so glad you enjoyed this! And I’m so sorry to hear about your dad. I lost my dad at the end of 2023 and I still miss him so much. I’m glad you are able to pass something of your dad onto your kids - that is lovely! 💕
Forgot to tell you Jenn; I love Bas Bleu catalog😁 Have bought many notecards, book t-shirts, jewelry, etc. and one of my favorite tea mugs that says " Never Underestimate A Well Read Woman"... YES!
Hi Jenn, I love green tea of all kinds, and some herbal teas as well. I have a teapot collection too, and also love mugs especially pottery Seagrove mugs that you get from the potteries in Seagrove, North Carolina! I got some tea from Harney and sons for Christmas that is gingerbread tea and even though it is black tea I love it so much. Your mugs are so cute. And growing up, Audrey Hepburn was my favorite actress! 😊 Thank you.😊😊😊❤
That was a charming video! I’m a morning tea drinker and late morning I have a latte. I enjoy English or Irish Breakfast. My current favorite is Oolong. I have so many types of teas I could open a tea shop! I have had to restrain myself from purchasing anymore until I use what I have. When I was reading The Number One Ladies Detective Agency series, I had to have Roobios tea which is what the main characters would drink while discussing a case. I use both loose leaf and bags. I also have a collection of teapots, including one that represents The Owl and the Pussycat, one of my favorite childhood poems. Brewing your tea in a teapot is a cozy and comforting routine. Thank you for sharing a cuppa and chat.😊
It was fun to hear you share about your tea and cup/mug preferences! I am a loose leaf tea lover, even though I will use a tea bag sometimes when travelling. Like you, I prefer a good black, breakfast tea blend, and I love many of ones already mentioned on here. My favorite is one I found while visiting my son in Germany, and it's a blend called Ostfriesen Gold. I brought several pounds of it home with me, but I think it's now available online. I love the idea of using cups, but I find the tea cools too fast, so I use my collection of Polish pottery mugs. I haven't heard books by Eleanor Estes mentioned for years, but I have a few of those and loved reading them with my children years ago...good memories😊
Someone else mentioned Polish pottery mugs as well. I don’t know anything about them but feel like I need to find out more. 😊 I think I will probably do more loose leaf tea now that I have a small pot to brew it in. I usually do tea bags for convenience. I’m going to have to try some different loose leaf teas to see what I like best.
Love the blue&white pieces in your room--I have an antique set of Blue Willow that belonged to my grandmother. My tea is Earl Grey and I'm addicted to Starbuck's London Fog Tea Latte (Earl Grey, steamed milk and vanilla sweetener).
Thank you! I have a number of blue & white pieces throughout my house. No antiques though…what a lovely heirloom to have! I’m not a huge Earl Grey fan but I do like the English Breakfast latte at Starbucks. I was so happy when they started making tea lattes!
Found you today and this was my first video to watch. My favorite tea right now is Ahmad English Breakfast. I'm not sure if it comes in decaf or not. I also like PG Tips and Yorkshire Gold. Great teas. I collect tea pots, tea cups with saucers, and most things tea. One of my favorites right now is Polish Pottery bubble cups (super cute). I can't wait to watch more of your videos. This was very Hygge to me!!!!
Welcome! I am so glad you have found my channel. You are the third person to mention the Polish bubble mugs to me and I have now gone down a rabbit hole and want all of them! I am loving finding so many other tea lovers! 🥰☕🫖
I recently had to add another shelf for all my mugs because I swap them out seasonally and just can’t resist the ones that “speak” to me😜 And I love tea, love trying new teas, grow herbs for tea, even the process of brewing my tea (usually loose leaf) is soothing to my soul…had to clear more space for all my beverage stuff🫣 🤣☕️📚📽️
I drink both coffee and tea and use different mugs and cups for each! There are SO many cute styles to choose from and I find it hard to resist purchasing more!😂
Hi Jen! I grew up in a family of tea lovers and it has been a lifelong delight. My favorite right now is Yorkshire Tea Malty Biscuit Brew but I'm like you and love any kind of breakfast tea. I can't wait to go to an afternoon tea in New Zealand soon! I love your mugs and look forward to seeing more of them! I collect Polish pottery mugs.
@jensreadinglife when I graduated from college, I went to Poland to teach at an international school in Warsaw with my parents. I taught first grade there for 3 years and fell in love with the amazing Polish pottery made there. Like most other Americans living there, I became a collector :).
@@MarthaBlevins-fo4cm ok, you and a few others have got me going down a rabbit hole of Polish pottery! I'm ordering myself a bubble mug because they are adorable! Thank you for bringing this pottery to my attention. I can see why you became a collector! 🥰
Thank you for sharing your teatime mugs and tea. I do like Yorkshire Gold tea. I am a English Breakfast tea drinker. My go to’s are David’s Organic English Breakfast blend and Rishi Tea English Breakfast. I do not have a decaf recommendation but in the afternoon I like a good 2nd flush Darjeeling tea which is a little lighter in caffeine ❤ ❤
I’ve seen Rishi but have never tried it…I may have to pick some up. I am enjoying hearing about everyone’s favorite teas! I had a friend who got me into Darjeeling. She made the best pot of tea.
I'm catching up on my viewing, this was fun to watch. I drink herbal tea first in the morning, and then two *small* lattes (I have a Nespresso machine and milk frother) In the afternoon I enjoy a small cup of espresso. Thankfully it doesn't disturb my sleep. Or maybe a mug of tea instead, if the mood strikes. I am more than halfway into Time of the Child, and really enjoying it. I also have the book Niall Williams wrote with his wife on my unread shelf.
Oh, I meant to add, Audrey Hepburn was married here in Switzerland, at a resort area up on a small mountain, near to Luzern. She lived for quite a number of years in a small town called Tolochenaz, not far from Geneva, and is buried in the cemetery there.
I am loving hearing everyone's tea and coffee drinking habits! One of my other viewers is a distant cousin of Niall Williams's wife...I didn't realize they had a book written together. Let me know how it is when you get to it!
I was taught the Oxford comma in high school. Can’t seem to let it go 😊 Lovely chat 😊 My fav tea is Earl Grey and we collect the Starbucks mugs wherever we travel.
I'm an editor, among other things, and once promised to buy warm beverages of choice for the whole team if everyone got their Oxford commas right in the latest drafts they were turning in. I never had to do it, sadly, since there was never a time when the stars aligned and all 8 colleagues managed to do it. I was also once tempted to buy "Team Oxford Comma" t-shirts for all (they were really cute), but since I had no power to institute a dress code even for a day, I decided to save my money.
@@michelelearner297 I love this story! 😂And if you can tell me where we can get Team Oxford Comma t-shirts, I will definitely buy one and wear it in some videos!!!
I work in a tea shop serving afternoon tea and one that comes to mind that we sell is the Tea of the Republic decaf British breakfast tea. You can purchase either loose leaf or tea bags…..you might like it.
I love mugs also, and have more than one person should 😊 I also love your teapot lamp, it’s so pretty. I too am trying to rein in my book buying this year. I don’t want to say I’m on a ban because that seems to make me only buy more. You had a lovely book haul to finish out the year. I bought three right after Christmas too during the B&N book sale. So far, none have been added this month. Looking forward to your Audrey Hepburn collection video💙
I’m a Jane Eyre fan too! I’ll have to look for that mug. I enjoy Harney & Sons Hot Cinnamon Spice and Paris teas for something fun and just any breakfast tea for any time. Loved your video today, so cozy ❤
Jane Eyre fans unite! 😁 I do love a good Paris tea on occasion. There used to be a tea shop near me with a wonderful French Breakfast but they sadly went out of business. I miss their tea.
I love tea and collecting mugs. My current favorite teas are an Earl Grey or Lady Grey. It's forever changing though, as is my mug collection. I've created a Tea Cart which I'm in love with at the moment. 🫖 I just got back into reading last year, and my collection has grown so quickly that I think I may have to do a No Book Buy Challenge soon. I'm happy I came across your channel. 😊
It's been a very long time (very), so I recall more the mood than particular incidents and stories. But one I do remember, though it must be in a later book, is when Rufus is determined to get his own library card.
Hi Jen, I love tea too although I do also drink coffee between mid morning and no later than 3pm. Like you I have decaff after that. I like Yorkshire Tea including the Yorkshire decaff. I tend to make my tea in the mug but seeing yours I am fancying trying a little teapot. Enjoyed your chat today look forward to the next one chin chin 😘
I'm a coffee drinker until 2 pm every day and can usually squeeze in 3 mugs. I do have my favorite mugs as well. I love the old version of Cheaper By the Dozen with Clifton Webb, Myrna Loy, and Jeanne Craine, I think it is. I watched it again just a few months ago. ❤
I'm a black tea in the morning drinker as well! I like the Irish Breakfast from Trader Joes. I was recently recommended Niall Williams, so am intrigued to try him.
Jacqueline Caron, glad you like Hazel Gaynor also! I think she is Irish, but doesn't live there now. I have 2nd cousins in Dublin and elsewhere. C.S. Lewis was Irish also, although alot of people think he was English.😊
Christmas with the Queen was good; I'm sure you will enjoy it. Yay for The Moffats (one of my childhood favorites!)! I hope to read the last Moffat book (The Moffat Museum) this coming March. It had not been published when I was a child.🙂 The Audrey Hepburn books are sweet -- I have the Little Golden Book on Lucille Ball. 🫖☕
I am really looking forward to reading The Moffats! I’m not sure how I missed those books as a kid. And I’m glad to hear you enjoyed Christmas with the Queen. It’s at the top of my holiday reading list. 😊
I too adore black breakfast tea but must limit my caffeine. Barry’s (Irish) Tea decaf is my absolute favorite. It has a very full bodied rich flavor without bitterness. So delicious and satisfying. I drink mine with milk and stevia.
I'm adding the Barry's decaf to my want to try list! A few other people have mentioned that one as well. And thanks for mentioning it isn't bitter...that's such a problem with decaf teas!
I’m a Brit and Yorkshire Tea decaf is my choice! It’s lovely. Twinings is another british brand and they do a lovely decaf English breakfast or they do an Everyday blend which is a lovely black tea and comes in decaf. Not sure if you can get it over there. My brother moved to the US from the UK and he always takes Yorkshire tea back with him!
I need to order some Yorkshire decaf. We have Twinings here in the US but it isn’t the same as the British version (not nearly as flavorful). I think I can order the British Twinings online though. Thank you for mentioning the Everyday blend…I will look for that one. 😊
Yorkshire Tea for me! But I’m in a reading slump at the moment m😢my grandma used to get PG Tips waaaay back when I was a child and they came with little collector cards of chimpanzees dressed up on them. Not something that is acceptable today but I did like seeing which card we got for the collection! ❤☕️🫖
That’s an interesting little historical note on the PG Tips. And I’m sorry you are in a reading slump! I hope you find a book to get you out of it soon!
Allison, as soon as Jen showed us her PG Tips box, I thought about the ads on British telly with the chimps. I can't see PG Tips without thinking about chimps.
Love a good cup of tea while talking books! My favorites are Twinings English Breakfast Honey & Vanilla, Twinings Lady Grey, Harney and Sons Victorian London Fog, and Tea Forte Raspberry Ganache. 🫖
@@jensreadinglife the Twinings English Breakfast with Honey & Vanilla is very good - still a black tea, and very good with a splash of milk, Jen! I've been on the look out for the London Fog, heard it's good.
Hi Jen, my favourite decaf tea is Birchall's. Lovely rich flavour for a decaf. I also drink loads of Bird and Blend flavoured teas, including the caffeine free rooibos teas. I am from the UK, so don't know if they are available over in the USA 🤔 Love your videos❤
Thank you for the tea recommendations. I’ve made note of them and check to see if I can get them over here. Would it be weird to make a trip to England just to get some tea??? I wish! 😁
A friend (who lives in England) gave me a box of Birchall Lemongrass Ginger tea and I love it! I'm going to visit her in May, and plan to bring some home, as we don't have it here in Switzerland!
When you mentioned being in a classic movie mood, (I have also been in one) I thought 'Yes! I think I'll watch Sabrina!' So, when you shared the Audrey Hepburn books I knew we were on track! I have a vintage brown Betty! I once had a lovely old Englishman to tea, and he informed me it was a proper British pot! It suddenly became more beautiful than all my floral and flourish china ones!
Having read both “Wintering” and “Enchantment” Katherine May has become a must-read author for me. Some folks might say an "auto-buy author" but I tend to borrow books from the library more than purchase them.
Fellow Oxford comma devotee here - I KNEW you were good people! 😂 I enjoyed this video! I’m a tea novice (I stick to peppermint tea, cinnamon-flavored black tea, and breakfast tea), and I keep trying to summon up the courage to switch from coffee to tea, but I keep chickening out because I’m afraid of the inevitable headache that comes from skipping my morning coffee. I hope you enjoy Cheaper by the Dozen! I read it over and over as a child, and now I want to track down a copy and re-read it as an adult.
Oxford comma forever!!! 😁 It can be hard to make the coffee to tea switch. Though some breakfast teas have a good amount of caffeine in them. I am so excited to read Cheaper By the Dozen!
I too remember reading Cheaper by the Dozen a few times when I was younger, was thinking the same thing - pick it up again! If you like cinnamon flavored tea - have you tried Harney & Sons Hot Cinnamon Sunset? ( in an orange tin ) It's a real good black tea, reminds me a bit of the flavor of the red hotballs candy. I'm one that has to have a bit of milk with my tea and I like this one with milk.
@ Funny you mention the Hot Cinnamon Sunset variety - I love the “regular” Hot Cinnamon Spice tea (it was my gateway tea into other teas lol), and I’ve turned several of my co-workers (and, in turn, their friends, families, and several colleagues) into fellow HCS fanatics. I may have to try the Sunset version the next time I place an order. :)
Yes, you’re pronouncing Niall Williams correctly. And what a talented author. I have nothing but praise for “This is Happiness” and “Time of the Child.”
I love Cheaoer By The Dozen and its sequel, Belles on Their Toes. They will be a treat for you. The classic movie is very good also. My favorite mug is from the Philosopher's Guild, and is all Jane Austen quotes. They have one that is famous first lines too.
I’m buddy reading Cheaper By the Dozen with a friend in February and then will definitely watch the classic movie! I also have an Austen mug of quotes…I love a good literary mug. 😊
You would have been that girl in my AP English Lit class who always had her hand raised and the teacher loved! I was the one slithering down in my chair because Leo Tolstoy was just way over my head, and gosh!…I didn’t want to get called on! (Didn’t belong in that AP class, but got in because I did well in honors Creative writing). 🙃 On a note regarding tea cups and mugs, I have an extensive collection (at least to me and in the eyes of my immediate family) of tea cups, but more so mugs. In fact 😊I have many hanging from hooks on a special board my husband constructed for me at our PA home. In our FL apartment I have more there! I enjoy swapping the daily ones for the holiday ones. Just love them!
My daughter took IB English (international baccalaureate) and we used to joke that since they were determined to cover Serious Literature, but couldn't talk about politics or sex because it was high school, all the books were instead about death. Death of a Salesman. As I Lay Dying. The Stranger. Medea. And on and on ... One time she came home and reported enthusiastically that they were getting a break. "This guy isn't dead -- he's only invisible! And it's probably a metaphor!" (It was Ralph Ellison's The Invisible Man).
😂 I’m not sure I would have been that girl in high school…I was pretty introverted in class and often felt over my head. I’m a late bloomer! 😉 And I love that you have a special board to hang your mugs on! I wish I could get a sneak peek at your collection. 😊
Tetley’s British Blend is my favorite morning tea. I like full-flavored teas of just about any type. Have to say I’m a bit of a tea snob with regard to herbal blends in particular-I love August Tea and Magic Hour for their excellent ingredients, flavorful blends, branding, and overall quality. I could go on at great length about tea and tisanes but will stop for now. 😅
I used to only drink Tetley’s before I found Yorkshire Gold. I still love it. I’m not much of an herbal tea drinker. I think years of allergies to plants and flowers put me off drinking anything remotely floral or herby.
Happy Tuesday, Jen! Loved this video 💕( start of a series?!! ) I think a little bit of tea talk should be in each of your videos - so not sharing ALL your mugs at once just leaves us waiting for the next one! I kinda chuckled to myself when you mentioned you have to have de-caf after noon or you'd be up all night - I can fall asleep with a cuppa in my hand while reading in bed! I don't drink de-caf at all, but love a splash of milk in mine. One of my sisters does like the Bigelow English Teatime de-caf, don't know if it's hard to find. I had to mention that I'm distantly related to Niall Williams wife Christine Breen ( I think it's pronounced like Nile ) she's a ?? many times removed cousin on my Dad's side, I have their book they wrote together on my shelves that my Dad gifted to me many, many years ago that I haven't read. ' O Come Ye Back to Ireland'. I still have quite a few cousins in the County Clare region. Love that Audrey Hepburn book - what a beautiful cover! I did know about the Golden Books - had picked up a Betty White one last year for my 26 yr old daughter ☺ ( big fan of The Golden Girls ).
I’ll see if I can incorporate a little “tea talk” in more of my videos. 😉 And that is fascinating that you are distantly related to Niall Williams’s wife! Small world! I am really looking forward to reading his two books this year.
Thanks for the chat, Jen! My husband likes to tell me we have no more room for mugs, but never fear, where there’s a will, there’s a way. 🤭 For my decaf English Breakfast, I tend to go between PG Tips and Twinings. Neither quite 100% ideal, but I enjoy them nonetheless. I, too, have Time of the Child and Christmas with the Queen; I had the best of intentions to get to both during December, but alas, they’ve been bumped to next Christmas. Thanks again for sharing with us! 🫖 ☕️ 📚 #teamoxfordcomma
There’s always room for more mugs! 😁 Sounds like we both have books to look forward to in December! Thank you so much for watching…I’m glad you enjoyed this. 💕
I am a tea lover too, though I have mine without milk and on the weak side. Noting your love of all things english language I'd like to suggest a book you might enjoy. The Dictionary of Lost Words by Pip Williams. It is set in the early 1900s at Oxford University during the time the first Oxford Dictionary was being curated. A lovely read.
@ Morning, Jen. I really enjoyed this one, she's an author that I find grabs you from the beginning of the story. This one was a quick read for me, enjoyed the setting. I have Memory of Violets in my pile to read next (of hers). She has a new one coming out in June 'Before Dorothy' - Wizard of Oz theme?? I recently started 'Netherwood' by Jane Sanderson ( book 2 is Ravenscliffe) VERY GOOD! another upstairs/downstairs story set in Yorkshire, mining community, excellent writing! These types of books are my weakness! 😯 have a great weekend!
@@jensreadinglife thought of something else -- I watched another one of Melissa's videos on the Jane Austen Literacy Foundation channel; I mentioned on your live chat last Friday I think? Anyway, I think you would like Melissa's content - check out the channel when you have a chance. 🙂
Fun video! My go-to tea is Stash's Chocolate Mint. I order it because, even though the company is in Oregon, I haven't seen for sale locally. My mug(s) are from a local artist, Joe Winter. I also wondered if you've read Infused: Adventures in Tea by Henrietta Lovell? Fascinating!
@@MMjones6459where in the Bay Area are you from? I’m a native and still live here. I was born in Redwood City and grew up in Fremont. Now I’m in the East Bay.
@jensreadinglife My parents moved to Alamo when I was in middle-school. All eight of the siblings graduated from SR High in Danville. I went to college at UC Davis.
Just finished reading Just Haven't Met You Yet by Sophie Cousens in which one of the characters (Mad Aunt Monica) named her tea kettle Kitty. When you called your new teapot Betty, I thought of that moment in the book. As the main character noted, maybe we should name more of our inanimate objects. Could be fun!
🫖🍵📚It's mostly black tea with a bit of sugar for me, but your cup looks so good I want milk in it today. Today I am having Adagio's Irish Stout, a black tea with a chocolate flavor, good with milk.
I haven’t read The Frozen River yet. I’m a little hesitant because there is some subject matter that I’m not sure about. I have read and loved other books by her.
This was great! Hope you do more"A Cuppa And Chat"! My friends tell me I am a "Tea Snob". I am VERY particular about my tea, tea drinking, tea making. NEVER make my tea in a microwave! UGH! Only drink black teas, no herbals ( those aren't really teas, but tisanes). Black tea w/ milk only! Not cream, the flavored creams, milks, creamora? UGH to all! No sugar for me. HOT, not lukewarm ( worst part of dining out) I think it should be illegal for tea drinkers to be charged for a 2nd tea bag and more lukewarm water, for a 2nd cup when coffee drinkers get FREE refills!!😑 Coffee NEVER passes these lips. I love making loose tea and a nice on line shop for that is The English Tea Store. You can even get samples to try(pay). All kinds of teapots, mugs, cups, sets, teaware, infusers,. I have a mug w/ infuser in it to make loose tea as well as many teapots w/ infusers from all over the country and Europe. Also find beautiful English made cups, mugs at T.J.Maxx, Marshall's and Home goods as well as teas. Tea biscuits a must. When I had my home I had approximately 47 teapots and I don't know how many sets of matching plates, cups and saucers of English and Irish china and Beleek. My favorite teas aside from Breakfast teas (have you tried Scottish Bkfst?) are Assam, Ceylon, Orange Pekoe, Barry's, Ty-Phoo, Life Boat. last 3 are excellent brands of black tea and can be found on Amazon. I would be shamed not mentioning Boston Harbor Tea ( being raised in Lexington Massachusetts where the Revolutionary War started. It is made by the EXACT same tea company that made the tea that was dumped in Boston Harbor during the Boston Tea Party. STILL in business today. When I moved to this tiny 1 bdrm. apt.had to get rid of 100's of bks. and most of my teaware, pots, and ALL collections of above named. I wore black for 5 yrs. (joke, sort of)
I love hearing about your love of tea, Eileen! I don’t think I have tried Scottish breakfast but I’ll keep my eye out for it. I do like Barry’s and Typhoo as well. And thanks for sharing about the Boston tea…amazing that the company of Tea Party fame is still making tea today! I’m so glad you enjoyed this video. More to come. 😊
I love yorkshire tea as well!! Im currently drinking the toast and jam version and i love it! Have you checked out the bees knees british imports out online? They have a fabulous selection of all things british 🙂
@jensreadinglife I've ordered from them several times. A couple of emma bridgewater pieces, biscuits (of course) and tea. Everything is always so well packaged. They definitely have alot of really beautiful things 😍
☕️Well, I strongly dislike black tea, and I drink coffee extremely diluted with milk and vanilla chai mix (sounds bizarre as I write it). I own two coffee mugs, a Yeti that I use and a Marvelous Land of Oz one that I keep my bookmarks in (mostly the Persephone book ones). And just to be extra ornery, I disliked Jane Eyre quite a bit. 😉 However, we have in common a love for quite a few other books and I enjoy your videos very much.
I wasn’t quite sure how to take this at first but then you used the word ornery and I’m here for a good vocabulary (despite you not liking tea or Jane Eyre…horrors!!!)! 😉😂 In all seriousness, I’m glad you enjoy my videos and thank you so much for watching! ❤️
I never watched the movie(s) of Cheaper By the Dozen because it seemed as though they changed the book a lot, but I know it was popular as a high school play since lots of kids could get at least a small part! Our family picked up a few expressions from the book (e.g., "Not of general interest!") and my daughter learned to type/keyboard like the kids in the book. But I hasten to add that I didn't emulate Dad's teaching methods!
I was indifferent to Oxford commas, but then I read about a party winning a lawsuit because of a missing Oxford comma. Since then, Oxford commas are no longer optional 😂
You haven’t missed it. We will start discussing this coming Friday, the 31st. And then we will discuss for as long as everyone likes so even if you can’t make it that day, hop in to the discussion anytime. 😊 And of course we are doing a wrap up in Live that day as well which you can join or watch the replay.
Unfortunately I love Bas Bleu and have a ton of their stuff but all the magazines under the ownership are not taking orders. Not sure if they are coming back.
The family of catalogs they are a part of have sadly gone bankrupt! Pretty sure Bas Bleu was bought out by this large company a while back. I really enjoyed ordering from them and also from Daedalus!
What's that book called? I love rats and (picture) books about rats (I have 12 pet rats). My favourite German picture book about rats is "Jules Ratte", illustrated by Klaus Ensikat.
Love the new series!! Is there anything better than tea, books, and mugs… perhaps only missing is stationary ! 🫖☕️
I am sure I will chat about stationary in one of these upcoming videos! 😄
@ Hooray for chat about stationery!😃

Tea, novels, and Jen’s Reading Life. Three of my favourite things.🫖 I look forward to more from the “A Cuppa & A Chat” series!😃
Awww… thanks MJ! I’m so glad you liked this and another one will be coming soon. 😄
Love this vlog. I drink Yorkshire tea, but the decaf version.☕️🫖 ❤️
I need to order some of the Yorkshire decaf because I do love it! I’m glad you enjoyed this. 😊
Very much enjoyed this books & things chat - thank you 🫖❤📚
You’re welcome! Thank you for watching. 😊
Seasonal mugs…I need more of them! 😁 I love how much you love tea! ❤️
I'm looking forward to your Audrey Hepburn collection. Roman Holiday is one of my favourite movies.
I am so glad you are looking forward to my Audrey book collection. It will be coming soon. 😁
I was drinking a cup of Yorkshire Gold when I turned on TH-cam and found this new video! 😄👌🏼 🫖
That is truly wonderful timing! Cheers! 🫖💙
I enjoyed Christmas with the Queen!
That's great to know! I'm looking forward to it. 🙂
omg i can’t wait to see your audrey books!
Coming very soon!!! 🥰
I drink both coffee and tea and use different mugs and cups for each! There are SO many cute styles to choose from and I find it hard to resist purchasing more!😂
It is so hard to resist the call of a cute mug! 😁
The Biscuit Brew is yummy! Afternoon tea in New Zealand sounds wonderful. And how did you come to collect Polish pottery mugs?
@@susanmay4215 Oh, yes...I know. Tolochenaz is on my bucket list of places to visit. 🥰
Well that was delightful, Jen! Yorkshire Gold, Emma Bridgewater, and cozy books. My favourite things. Thankyou.
You’re welcome! I’m so glad you enjoyed this. 😊
Such a cozy video!!
Thank you, Miriam!
Love!!!❤
I was taught the Oxford comma in high school. Can’t seem to let it go 😊 Lovely chat 😊 My fav tea is Earl Grey and we collect the Starbucks mugs wherever we travel.
I like the idea of collecting mugs when you travel. That’s a great souvenir. And yay for the Oxford comma! 🤗
Your tea pot is so lovely! My college mentor had a Brown Betty and I have such fond memories of it. I love a good tea cozy!
Thanks Elizabeth! I’m so happy to have my new little Betty. And I can’t wait to get my tea cozy and wrap her up all snug. 🥰
I work in a tea shop serving afternoon tea and one that comes to mind that we sell is the Tea of the Republic decaf British breakfast tea. You can purchase either loose leaf or tea bags…..you might like it.
How lovely to work in a tea shop! And thank you for the decaf recommendation. I will definitely try that one! 🫖❤️
i’m here for a cuppa and a chat!
yay! 💛
I am not on a ban either because that always backfires. 😁 I’m so glad you enjoyed this. My Audrey video will be coming soon.
What a great video! All of my favorites, tea 🫖 and books 📚.
I’m so glad you enjoyed this! 😊❤️
Ooohhh…a tea cart sounds lovely! I’m so glad you are enjoying my channel - welcome! 😊
I loved Eleanor Estes books when I was a child and have reread two of them since. They are a fun family.🫖
It's been a very long time (very), so I recall more the mood than particular incidents and stories. But one I do remember, though it must be in a later book, is when Rufus is determined to get his own library card.
@michelelearner297 Yes! Rufus M.!
I’m looking forward to finally meeting the Moffats! 😁
First time watching your videos, I enjoyed it.
Thank you and welcome! I’m so glad you enjoyed this. 😊
I've been wanting to try Yorkshire Gold tea! It sounds lovely.
It’s so yummy! 😊
So enjoyed your chat and your book haul 🫖☕️
Thank you! I’m so glad. 😊
I’m so glad you enjoyed this! Having a little teapot is really lovely. Makes me feel like I’m making a true English cuppa. 😁🫖
Love this new style of video! I am currently reading Wintering by Katherine May and enjoying it. Your mugs are beautiful!
I am so happy you liked this! More to come. 😁 Wintering is so lovely…enjoy!
Such a fun video, Jen. The mugs are so fitting and the tea pot couldn’t be any cuter. 🫖☕️
Thank you! I’m so glad you enjoyed this. 😊
Such a lovely video Jen, I , too love tea. Love your new teapot so cute.❤
Thank you! I’m so glad you enjoyed this. 😊
It’s so nice to drink a warm beverage in a favorite mug, isn’t it? I’m looking forward to watching the movie after I read the book. 😊
I'm a black tea in the morning drinker as well! I like the Irish Breakfast from Trader Joes. I was recently recommended Niall Williams, so am intrigued to try him.
I like that Irish breakfast tea as well. I have high hopes for Niall Williams because other reader's whose tastes are similar to mine love his books!
I'm so excited for you to watch some great classic movies this year!
So am I! 🥰
Nice love tea and cups
I'm glad you enjoyed this!
I have seen the “Oxford comma” phrase before, and never knew what it meant! Thank you 📚
You are welcome! 😊
Barry’s decaf …… awesome
I need to track that one down!
I do like Lady Grey and the Honey and Vanilla sounds very interesting. I’m glad you enjoyed this. 😊🫖📚
@@jensreadinglife the Twinings English Breakfast with Honey & Vanilla is very good - still a black tea, and very good with a splash of milk, Jen! I've been on the look out for the London Fog, heard it's good.
@@JacquelineCaron I'm putting that Twinings tea on my to try list! Thanks for the recommendation.
Hi Jen, my favourite decaf tea is Birchall's. Lovely rich flavour for a decaf. I also drink loads of Bird and Blend flavoured teas, including the caffeine free rooibos teas. I am from the UK, so don't know if they are available over in the USA 🤔
Love your videos❤
Sabrina is just wonderful, isn’t it? And I’m so glad I’ve added “Betty” to my collection. I do feel properly English now. 🥰
Having read both “Wintering” and “Enchantment” Katherine May has become a must-read author for me. Some folks might say an "auto-buy author" but I tend to borrow books from the library more than purchase them.
She is wonderful! Do you subscribe to her on Substack? I love getting her articles in my inbox. She’s so calming. 😊

Fellow Oxford comma devotee here - I KNEW you were good people! 😂
I enjoyed this video!
It can be hard to make the coffee to tea switch.
I like both coffee ☕️ AND tea 🫖
All the hot beverages for you! 😁❤️
Yes, you’re pronouncing Niall Williams correctly. And what a talented author. I have nothing but praise for “This is Happiness” and “Time of the Child.”
Oh yay! I got it right this time. 😁
Thanks for sharing Jen! I like coffee and mate.
On a note regarding tea cups and mugs, I have an extensive collection (at least to me and in the eyes of my immediate family) of tea cups, but more so mugs.
Lol..funny how topics are chosen! Now that I think of it, I think I recall that we also read Death of a Salesman as well.
😂 I’m not sure I would have been that girl in high school…I was pretty introverted in class and often felt over my head. I’m a late bloomer! 😉
And I love that you have a special board to hang your mugs on! I wish I could get a sneak peek at your collection. 😊
Wow! Those are some intense reads. I studied Death of A Salesman in college and it was not my cup of tea.
lovely idea 🫖
Thank you!
So cute🩷 subscribed
Welcome! I’m so glad you enjoyed this. 😊💕
Lovely video, Jen! Would you mind sharing a link for the tea cozy you mentioned?
The Etsy shop that has the tea cozy is on vacation at the moment so I can’t link it at the moment but it’s called KnitogyGifts. 😊

I love Twining's English breakfast ,and Mark's and Spencer's gold tea .I live in the UK.
The UK knows their tea! I wonder if I can get the M&S teas over here? Hmmmm…

Pretty mug = better tasting hot beverage…definitely scientific! 😄
And that is fascinating that you are distantly related to Niall Williams’s wife!
This book sounds wonderful! I’m not sure how I missed hearing about it. Thank you! It’s going on my TBR! 😁

Just finished reading Just Haven't Met You Yet by Sophie Cousens in which one of the characters (Mad Aunt Monica) named her tea kettle Kitty. Just a quick question now, and will watch entirely later. Have you ever read The Frozen River by Ariel Law on and what were your thoughts?
I haven’t read The Frozen River yet. I’m a little hesitant because there is some subject matter that I’m not sure about. I have read and loved other books by her.
❤ 🍵❤

In all seriousness, I’m glad you enjoy my videos and thank you so much for watching!
That’s really interesting. I’m looking forward to reading it and then comparing it to the movie. 😊

Leseratte in German! Reading rat. I have a German picture book about The Reading Rat plus a felted rat I bought at a Christmas market.
Oh I love that! 🐭📚😊
What's that book called? I love rats and (picture) books about rats (I have 12 pet rats). My favourite German picture book about rats is "Jules Ratte", illustrated by Klaus Ensikat.
@@carolinelist-b4p Ein Weihnachtsgeschenk für Walter by Barbara Wersha. Beautiful black and white illustrations and a sweet story!
@@carolinelist-b4p Well, turns out it's actually originally in English: Walter: The Story of a Rat. Same illustrator.
@@christinaoldham6614 I have to check that out!!

I love tea with milk. ☕️ One of my favorite “snacks” is tea and toast. Have you ever tried a London Fog? Yum!
London Fog is delightful.
I have had a London Fog! So yummy! and I love tea and toast too. Perfect combo! 😁💕

I collect tea cups and pots. I mostly drink Earl Grey but I like black tea ☕️ of all kinds. Twinnings Lady Grey is a good one.
I do enjoy the Lady Grey tea on occasion. 😊🫖
