The intro kind of gives away the ending, but you get sucked in and actually end up forgetting that the ending was given away at the beginning. Then the ending is somehow a total surprise, then you're like oh my gosh I can't believe I forgot that I already knew the ending, but I don't even care. Beautiful.
This sound can be interpreted in many ways. Rain, a waterfall, the ocean, a quiet car ride, an ac unit, and basically whatever. That’s what I love about brown noise. I can imagine so many different things.
Yes same! I even take it a step further for sleep: Ear plugs + noise cancelling headphones + brown noise. I'm an extremely slight sleeper and this has been the solution to almost all my sleeping issues. Also works wonders for those who have partners who snore! 😴😋
Could never see the point of white noise, it’s just that, noisy! This is so mellow and warm. Thank you for making and sharing! Trying to help my girl to sleep and hope this helps her
White noise is good for people like me who are constantly thinking and unable to stop thinking in a stressful way. The actual static noise of it in all its loudness actually breaks and form of concentration for me which helps me to relax plus its such a static noise it covers others noises and in doing so creates a perfectly hectic static silence. If that makes sense?
As a kid before the internet I'd get strange looks from family when they knew I could only sleep with the fan on. It was the noise I was after and I thought I was the only one. Today I see a whole community that feel the same way with videos views in the millions, so cool.
Yeah I had this purple fan that I would always flip out over because I thought it would break from over use and I’d never be able to sleep again. I thought I had some kind of weird problem needing the fan but ended up feeling the same as you.
Reminds me of Florida vacations when I was a little kid, laying in the hotel room while my parents were asleep but I was too excited for the beach to go to bed. I’d lay awake just smelling the clean hotel room sheets and listening to the air conditioner until the late hours of the night and I finally was able to fall asleep. This is really, really nice. Thank you for this.❤️

Yes.. I'm forever trying to find the most soothing or the most sleep inducing sounds, like celestial/ universe type majestic instrumentals, outdoor nature sounds, but to be honest the most effective out of them all happens to be this brown noise.. better than all the others out there.
Goodnight my loves. Tonight is the night you need to take time for you. Empty your mind as much as possible and just listen to this noise and relax. There is nothing you can do about your worries or problems right now. Sleep get rest so that tomorrow you can wake up to a new view, a new look at your problems. This is a big wide world with billions of people in it, ask for help, reach out for help in your family, your community. Lots of love to you
Its 30° degrees outside.. You just put another log in the fire... The hot coco is in the cup. Your cat & dog snuggle on the couch.. The wind & rain beat their timeless tune upon the window glass- with every drop it tells you it's time to turn in.. Just a few sips of coco- and you can't keep your eyes open.. You gather the quilt Mom made for you when you were a child- it's still big and warm and your going to use it no matter how your grown family teases you.. Getting up, your loving beasts follow you into the bedroom.. A prayer, and you all tuck in listening to the wind howling the sound of the ancients.. Goodnight...
i am incredibly high and even more so sleepy and this sound is tickling the folds of my brain in the best way my subconscious is melting into the universe and nothing could ever bother me... this is a blanket for my brain and an audible sensation for the soul
I came here naive. On a high horse of white noise pretentiousness. “How many different color noises can there possibly be”? I scoffed. But no. This. This is a massage for my brain. Forgive my hideous dismissiveness, I have been cured and will never act in the same ignorant fashion again.
I have epilepsy and this helps calm my brain at night. White noise induces my seizures while I sleep. It also helps to get my grand daughter to sleep at nap time.
This is one of the only things that relaxes me and helps me study. I have ADHD so along with always getting distracted I also am sensitive to noise and either get distracted by it or if it's a lot of noise I get overwhelmed and it triggers my anxiety. This really blocks out everything. It's all I've ever needed.
I have bad ADHD too and if stuff like this doesn’t work for me, I tend to watch a series I’ve watched over and over (Star Trek TNG/DS9/Voyager for me) and that keeps my brain just occupied enough to focus, without being overwhelmed because it’s a familiar sound☺️
@@minbyc this is how I fall asleep too I need some kind of variation, monotone sounds just make me anxious (even tho brown noise is a 100 times better than white noise for me)
Thank you so much for making these. I have been dealing with a neighbour who plays their bass constantly day and night for almost a year now and these videos are the only things that have helped me focus, stay calm, and sometimes even sleep. They have literally been a sanity saver.
I've had this issue too. The best combination I've found is ear plugs + noise cancelling headphones + brown noise. I literally can't hear anything - loud neighbors, lawn mowers, etc. Highly recommend!
@@KateArete My best solution ended up being a sound meter and some recording equipment. It was hitting 80 almost 90db in our unit, so I can only imagine the levels in theirs. Anyways it was enough to illustrate the point to the landlord and put an end to it thankfully. :)
I can’t focus when it’s quiet because my mind tries to fill the silence. I can’t focus when I’m listening to music or watching something or else I’ll get distracted. This is absolutely perfect, whenever I listen to this it’s so much easier to focus. Thank you so much for this! It’s helped me get through hours of homework and writing papers :)

My uncle had a heart attack. After surgery and a stay in the ICU, he couldn’t sleep. He would have nightmares and not get much sleep. I told him about this and he couldn’t believe that it helped. He’s still listening and it’s been 6 months. 😊
I feel like I'm on a travel maybe car maybe plane , but the fact that my brain relates this to "ok we are moving somewhere" makes it feel like I'm actually "productive" so it's satisfying but also calming. Amazing
this is perfect to study if you don't want to be disturbed by any other noises and it just takes two minutes to forget you are hearing it. I study 8 hours a day and this has absolutely changed my life, so thank you.
When I saw your comment on the Smoothed Brown Noise 8-Hours - Remastered video, I didn't think this could really be any different. But I have to admit, this version is nicer on my ears

BEST BROWN NOISE OUT THERE! I can't tell you how much I appreciate this video! Since the pandemic, my husband and I now both work from home. My husband runs an entire division and is constantly in online meetings all day. While I love having him home, there is absolutely no way I could concentrate and get my own work done in the middle of all that without brown noise. Unlike white, pink and purple noise, brown is low and mellow. Listening to it through my noise-cancelling headphones, I feel calm and centered and able to concentrate. And this one is the best mix out there! Thank you so much for making this video. I literally listen to it every day.
My boyfriend and I suffer from insomnia. We listened to this every night together to fall asleep. It was the only thing that got both of our minds quiet enough to doze off. We would unplug the nightlights making sure the room was pitch black and turn this on while we laid on our backs in silence holding hands. He passed away April 23 2023. I miss him dearly. This video specifically and the ritual of putting it on every night together brings such a sense of warmth and comfort. Thank you❤

thank you so much for creating this!! as an autistic with sound sensitivity, high frequencies give me minor to severe headaches; even other brown noises give me troubles bc they often have minor/subtle higher frequencies. I've been sleeping to this exact brown noise video for over 2 years now. There's never been one ad in the middle of it, until last night, 4 hours into sleeping there was an ad that woke me up from a good dream! I was so mad! I almost couldn't fall back to sleep, thankfully I did though.

I just discovered brown noise the other day and WOW. I have been missing out. I typically use rain-falling sounds but after a while, I find the effect wears off or can even become a bit irritating... but THIS. First of all the other day, I was having some anxiety and I turned this on and I could literally feel the stress leaving my body. It was crazy. And then today, I had this on for the entire afternoon and it was doing its job so well that I completely forgot I had even turned it on. THANK YOU to the person who discovered/came up with brown noise and thank you to the creator of this video. You have done me such a solid.
I'm autistic with ADHD and constant raging thoughts. It can even make it hard to fall asleep. Never in my life did I think I could experience 'no thoughts, head empty' *AND feel so wonderful about it*
i’ve always been so against white noise because i have always found it so annoying. brown noise just hits different. it isn’t exaggerated or overly loud. it is simply perfect.
For the most part, I don’t associate this sound with anything. It’s just relaxing. Sometimes though I do hear it differently. I picture sitting in the backseat of our family vehicle, driving on a trip/vacation somewhere. My dad always had the window cracked, because he was a smoker. I didn’t care for the smoke, but I loved the sound of the tires on the highway beneath us, rumbling along. The wind hitting the gap of the slightly ajar window. All the while I sit with my headphones on, Walkman in hand, staring out the window and watching trees go by, trees so high it’s like they never ended. I was filled with excitement for where our journey would take us, but for now, with the calming brown noise gently filling my ears, it was time to sleep.
I just tried this, and within the first few seconds, I felt a *wave* of calm squeeze the tightness and stress out of my mind. I'm like, "what the heck?" it was that smooth. I had no idea sound could work like this. I'm using it from now on.
I’ve had major and minor traumatic brain injuries, and I struggle to sleep everyday. But, I listened to this video out of curiosity, and I don’t even recall falling asleep (or, even trying to fall asleep) last night! Plus, I had no lucid nightmare…nearly miraculous! Thank you!
Wow. As a student who survives on caffeine and constant stimulation- I can literally feel my body finally relaxing after hearing just a minutes worth of this…
The guy in the next cubicle over from me just started eating his lunch like an absolute pig and I forgot my headphones at home today. This video is so easily blended into the noise of every day life that I can just play it out loud in the office and people just think the air conditioning got louder or something and no one notices but I get to not die of panic over my misophonia. I so get you!
@@wynn6240 there's a whole Reddit about it - it's the best since literally no one on earth BUT people who suffer with it seems to understand it. We would welcome you there. You are safe to lose your mind over sounds there.
After a horrible day full of overthinking and overstimulation, I decided to try the brown noise. Becoming calmer usually takes awhile, but the brown noise worked immediately to quiet my adhd brain.
Hope no ads tonight again. After my last comment on this video I haven't had an ad interruption since, but last night 5 hours in to sleeping there was an ad, took a while to fall back to sleep. Here's to hoping for a full nights sleep. 🙏
Honestly, I never knew what it was with color noises for people. I didn't think any of it would be soothing and my newly developed aversion to certain sounds definitely made me even less of a believer, but this is soooo relaxing. I can't really describe the way I'm feeling right now, it's like my body is being looser the longer I listen and my usually racing throughts have slowed to a crawl. I've been able to focus on my one task without being distracted or needing to just move around for the entire hour I've been listening to this. Although I've been having moments where I completely get lost in the sound or almost block it out completely and forget it's playing. Definitely saving this to my playlist
Jason, thank you so much for making so many videos to help people. Your videos help me each night. You’re amazing to not flood them with ads and to be constantly improving. I am so grateful.
I'm a man of the suburbs but I love when I get to take a vacation to the city-- this is totally what it sounds like when you open the window of a high building. Just needs some beeping, and we have a hotel window in New York!
Using it for my misophonia... I have noisy neighbours with music all day, and this helps like a charm. I would love to buy this track with nature, forest or space sounds, I just saw you have it with Singing Bowls and a couple more. This is amazing, thank you.
This is our standby for our infant's room at night. The 12-hour length and the blackscreen are perfect. She regularly sleeps 3 - 4 hours at a shot throughout the night., sometimes even longer. The gentle background noise certainly helps. Thank you for making this available
I’m an overstimulated mom of 3 kids 4 years old and younger… I use the night time for my personal me time to decompress and relax… but often end up more overstimulated via social media… this brown noise is interestingly soothing… definitely helps settle my mind and spirit….

The intro kind of gives away the ending, but you get sucked in and actually end up forgetting that the ending was given away at the beginning. This sound can be interpreted in many ways. Rain, a waterfall, the ocean, a quiet car ride, an ac unit, and basically whatever. That’s what I love about brown noise. I can imagine so many different things.

Noise cancelling headphones + this = I can work/read anywhere, no matter what's happening around me. Thanks for the work

Trying to help my girl to sleep and hope this helps her
my point exactly !! white and pink noise is so loud and crazy. red and brown are so much better
Maybe it should be called brown sound, since noise is what I have to escape from. Maybe I should be sleeping not writing comments.
White noise is for a loud place. I use it to block out loud neighbours on a Saturday night. Everything has a purpose
I totally agree....white noise makes me anxious
As a kid before the internet I'd get strange looks from family when they knew I could only sleep with the fan on. It was the noise I was after and I thought I was the only one. Today I see a whole community that feel the same way with videos views in the millions, so cool.
Turns out you weren't so strange after all. Great to have you here amongst your own.
yes 7 billion people youre the only one.
I Relates in totality.
Same here, can't sleep at all without the noise of my fan.
Yeah I had this purple fan that I would always flip out over because I thought it would break from over use and I’d never be able to sleep again. I thought I had some kind of weird problem needing the fan but ended up feeling the same as you.
Whoever created this, from the bottom of my heart thank you. No more over thinking, no more wild thoughts before I go to bed. Actual peace of mind 😌
Thank you for this.❤️

this is like falling asleep on the car ride home as a kid, hella nostalgic, thank you very much!
It’s scary wum

And this one is the best mix out there! Thank you so much for making this video. I literally listen to it every day.
Thanks Heather.

Exactly!...I love that sound too
i’ve always been so against white noise because i have always found it so annoying. brown noise just hits different. it isn’t exaggerated or overly loud. it is simply perfect.
My friend recommended this channel to me and i'm sure glad she did. This really helped me in concentrating during my Biotechnology exam.
