Ive been selling insurance for 23 years. And you are 100% correct about people not understanding insurance. Auto insurance is the same way. Ask someone what their liability limits are. They havent a clue. All you need as a homeowner is 1) backup of water/sewer. 2) service line endorsement. 3) water seepage (if the company offers it). 4. as much extended dwelling as the company will offer. Thats all you really need IMHO

I do public adjusting for all claims and I’ve yet to meet someone who is fully aware of their policy however I make sure to guide them so they can properly structure their policy and fully understand every word within it.
My dad said auto, life and home owner insurance was “ just in case” stuff happens payment. BUT, your auto and life insurance will cancel you if you use it too much.

They'll be glad to help you because in the future if you choose to sell your home or buy a home, they will be high on the list to help you as a buyers or sellers agent. That’s the most frustrating blessing. You feel relieved that you’re already lying the cheapest. But man it sucks to be paying that huge increase knowing full well you aren’t making that much more per year when you combine that with all the other increases!
For the next info session. Why are dogs becoming so difficult to deal with in regards to insurance? It's difficult to insure a rental home that has a dog? Will rental ins cover this??
What about storm damage coverage? You'd better check into that and verify. FOR SURE. You don't want to be squabbling with your insurer and agent. Hint: There are people that sit behind desks with objective of exploiting you and are more than willing to exploit working people with principals.
Allstate denied me coverage because they said I paid too little for my house I showed them comparables of all the prices of houses are the same size selling in the area and the lady told me that she couldn't change what the computer was telling her....

I’m from La and insurance continues to go up due to what? Insurance companies want to offer insurance while not wanting to pay . But continues to go up. Then they use disasters as the reason but I’m not worried about disaster I’m insuring my house. I don’t benefit on no claims so why should I be stuck with high prices and have yet to make a claim
My Neighbor just had a fire. They were drinking and boiling oil. They have caused me and my children to lose everything. I did not have insurance will the neighbours liability compensate us for now being homeless and losing everything we own?

Your Dad is right. You only want to use insurance for claims that cost way more than your deductible. If it’s minor, handle it yourself

I'm in Louisiana and i need to get a new policy, its going crazy in this state. The insurance has pushed my mortgage up so much its unaffordable.
