I like that little trick you did on the intro. Very clever letting the MB run at its own tempo then letting the drum machine come and sync/speed it up. Loved when the bassline got funky at 2:48. Are these new synths? It's a nice little setup. I've had the microbrute. It's a great sounding little synth. Had a microKorg for almost 10 years. Finally FORCED myself to sell it because I had become too reliant. But I missed the sound engine so I recently picked up a MS2000R to replace it. Great stuff as usual.
Thank you! Yeah, the whole tempo thing was kind of an accident at first... but it sounded cool, so I just kept playing it that way. Lol I just recently purchased these two synths and I'm really enjoying them. I feel like the Microbrute has a lot of character and is a simple, but capable little synth. The Microkorg was quite deceptive at first. Lol Some of the presets were pretty neat... but I quickly discovered the real magic was in its sound building/editing capabalities. 😊 I could see how this synth could easily become a "go-to" all purpose synth.
+agentmirv The SR-16 is wonderful... I kinda regret selling it. :( I needed some extra money to fund other gear. So I had to get rid of stuff that I was using the least. Overall though, it is a fun little drum machine and sounds pretty good.
I was thinking, this really makes me want to give my sr-16 another go. I didn't really take enough time to get to know it and how to program it or find the sounds I liked...every time I see someone use it well I realize it's a capable little box that deserves another go.
Thank you! :) This jam is pretty old... I don't quite remember. Lol I believe I have MIDI out from the Alesis SR-16 drum machine to the MIDI in on the MicroKorg, and then THRU the MicroKorg to the Microbrute. ;)
so with the alesis you can make a full song of 5 minutes with different steps all coming and going with no problems at all? im asking because i have the arturia drumbrute and that is a big fall.
I'm not too familiar with sr18. The SR-16 was a great drum machine, but I no longer have it unfortunately. 😔 It mostly had a lot of "real" drum/percussion sounds that sounded pretty nice. The workflow was a bit wierd at first, but eventually got a bit easier to work with. It is really great for programming patterns and chaining them together to create full songs.
awesome jam! Love it, mixes some old and new school ideas! fresh!
+Bam Bam Bigelow Thank you very much! :D I'm really glad you enjoyed it...and I appreciate your comment!
I loved it! Sounds amazing and real funky.
+Shark Record Films Thank you! I am glad you enjoyed it. :)
Another awesome track. Nifty tricks you've got going on there!
+Arrayzable Thanks, man! :) Yeah, those "nifty tricks" were happy accidents at first. lol
"playing around" is a good and satisfying way to explore :-)
+Wanderlinse Most definitely! :)
nice one man sounding really good!
+sphene Thank you! :)

@@littleBIGsynths there are no accidents, love this video
2:48 yes!
So cool seeing the SR-16 get some love! Just got mine out again, trying to make more use of it. Still really tempted to get a PO-12 though :D

+agentmirv The PO-12 is awesome! I would say it's one of the POs I tend to use the most. I love it. :)

Nice job.
+Helium Road Thank you! :D
This is nice! Congrats maan
gets very groovy towards the end! Enjoy your new gear!
😆 Thank you! I will! I really like the microbrute, especially consodering the price I payed for it... totally worth it.
Sweet
Thanks! 🙂
This is so sick.
+Stijn Verweij Thank you! Really glad you enjoyed this video! :)
Eccellente!
Awesome !
How did you record your audio while recording your video? This sounds very good mate!!!!
Hi, amazing jam, how did you make the sync connections?
Thank you! :) This jam is pretty old... I don't quite remember. Lol I believe I have MIDI out from the Alesis SR-16 drum machine to the MIDI in on the MicroKorg, and then THRU the MicroKorg to the Microbrute. ;)
littleBIGsynths thanks 😉
1:01 oh my god
Thank you for watching! :D
Thanks for the encouragement, man! I will definitely trying and keep this going for awhile. ✌😄
Felt that too

So I noticed in the jam when you have the sr16 and the brute synced, changing the drum pattern will change the brute's sequence, is that true?
What is the little box in the top left corner? Can't seem to figure it out.
+AA BB I think you are referring to the Line 6 M9, Multi-stomp FX pedal. It's a great effects unit for guitar... and works well with synths too. :)
Sr16 or sr18 what is the consensus please?

So Is the microkorg creating the arpeggio and the MB is filtering it?
