- This is a soft spoken ASMR video where I will unbox the collector's edition of the expansion Shadowlands for the game World of Warcraft. Unfortunately, this was a very disliked - if not - the most disliked expansion for World of Warcraft. Nonetheless, this was one of the two lacking art books from the collector's editions I have not covered on my channel as of yet.

I experienced it secondhand from my wife lol. Shadowlands fully made her stop playing WoW. She actually liked Dragonflight quite a bit more, but still didn't stick with that expansion either. I have my fingers crossed for War Within (for her sake)

The Shadowlands Collector's Edition was the first ever Collector's Edition box for a WoW expansion I ever got. I received it as a gift from my cousin who worked for Blizzard. Over the years, since I started playing WoW (around 2010 I think), I would always watch the unboxing videos creators made of the stuff they got and be so excited at everything. I watched TotalBiscuit's (RIP) Catacylsm Collector's Edition unboxing so many times because of how cool all the stuff looked, like the mousepad, and the ingame dragon pet you got. I was verry excited to get this as a gift, and it has some cool stuff, but you're right it's a far cry from how they used to be. They used to be filled to the brim with cool accessories like mousepads, figurines, TCG cards and exclusive ingame pets you could only get from the Collector's Edition. It is quite sad to see what they've done with my favorite childhood game.
Those where the days! So much digital stuff these days, not as awesome! I got the Bioshock 2 Collectors for 5 bucks back in the day! That was a steal. Cool cousin you got!

LOL! That was so funny, but you're so right about the quality of these editions.
It's just the way the industry is now (AAA at least), give people less while trying to charge as much as they think they can get awat with.

I really enjoyed Shadowlands...until I didn't. I had a lot of fun at the opening, exploring the zones, learning about the covenants and their politics, adventuring under new "rules", and seeing a wider picture of the cosmology. If the expansion had just been that, it would have been so much better.

Love your wow content, been playing wow since i was a kid in 2007, could never afford any collectibles or collectors editions etc so i am building my collection these days, TCG and collectors editions are a buzz to find second hand. Managed to pick up a cataclysm collectors edition fairly cheap this week, your wrath of the lich king unboxing was beautiful. Although shadowlands was pretty awful, the collectors edition looks nice, seeing that cover, it reminds me abit of the hype during the lead up to shadowlands when the cinematic dropped, my favourite art book is 100% from wrath.

Which expansion is your favorite?
Wrath of the Lichking for me, combined the character of classic with the wide breath and expertise of the years WoW was out for till then. Classes also felt the most epic during WOTLK, something they were never able to get back to in retail.
Cataclysm if my memory not fail.
My absolute favorite will always be the burning crusade, I just think its peak fantasy for me.. the setting of an alien world. Otherwise I did really enjoy mists of pandaria, it was one of the last really fun expansions imo!

Collectors editions of games have gone downhill in recent years. Sure you often get a statue, but they are often not all that great once you get them. I spent along time painting my Aloy statue so that I could enjoy it. And don’t get me started in the games where the game isn’t even in the collectors edition. I love a big chunky art and lore book, so I don’t really buy collectors editions anymore

shadowlands is the worst because it could have been SO much more... they shouldn't have retconned all the lore, Arthas shouldn't have received such pathetic treatment, Sylvanas' character got utterly destroyed etc etc

I think ASMR gives you the freedom to cover any topic you want. I found your channel because of the Bloodborne video and I have never played WoW, but I still watch or listen to everything you release
I gotta say, as a fan of WoTLK I agree that shadow lands is a travesty in many ways. I miss the old days.

WoW was also a huge part of my high school and university life, and it definitely deserves criticism for falling off so hard after Cataclysm.
😅😇 It feels so strange to call Cataclysm an older game/expansion, it feels like yesterday. Having a hard time finding new games and releases to enjoy, mostly falling back into old nostalgic PC-games!
@@ErudwenASMR It really does! I just got to Hellfire on my classic play through, hoping to get to Northrend soon! It doesn’t feel that long ago that we entered these zones for the first time. I’ll never forget going through the Dark Portal for the first time 😂
WoW is so multifaceted theres usually some positives you can scrape out of even the worst eras, but Shadowlands genuinely misfired on all fronts

Dont worry it's not herpes, it's called naveus flammeus/port wine stain, a kind of birthmark that cannot be removed from the mouth area. Half of my face was covered growing up, it usually gets a bit darker with age or in warmer seasons!
