- This is another soft spoken ASMR video where I cover a Warhammer 40,000 Dark Angels Codex, I really enjoy making Warhammer 40K content and I hope you enjoy it as well! I've been into warhammer since the 90s, I can honestly say that the best part is looking at cool artwork, neat models, and read evocative flavor texts. If you wanna dive deeper, then go ahead, but there's no need.
Warhammer lore > any modern fantasy.

Listening to this gave me the most peaceful lunch break, I take 1 hour naps in my car with blanket and A/C turned on to max during breaks at work and listening about the history and exploits of the Dark Angels was both informative and relaxing.

We’re just started in 10th edition and the time of the tyranid is now! It’s a lot simpler a ruleset than 9th edition. Honestly there’s no better time than to be a tyranid player! I hope you enjoy painting.

There is no other franchise with such reverence for the lore, except for MAYBE Battletech/Mechwarrior, but that’s a big maybe.
Ehh, I mean, retconning the lore is a regular tradition in 40k (for example, the Dark Angels used to have a Native American influence, but that was retconned many years ago), so it depends on what you mean. Also, all of the lore has a big asterisk of "from a certain point of view" on it, often the way characters or groups are depicted in different novels will be very different.
I would recomment people diving more into the VIBES and the aesthetics of the setting, than the nitty-gritty details, which are always subject to change.

@@ErudwenASMR Of course! I honestly only really enjoyed WoW lore up to WotLK, after that it got kinda bonkers lol. The games were fun for me until Legion, but classic has been great.

@@Viper1Zero Totally agree, Legion was the last expansion that I personally actually enjoyed, I have tried quitting during the years after that but usually miss it too much after half a year to a year and fall back 😅 Having that nostalgic classic gameplay whenever there is time or energy to game is wonderful! Cool: I always liked painting with Dark Angels green.
Not that I actually play 40k myself, but if I did, I would totally play as Imperial Guard: the idea that a bunch of normal guys trying to get through another day in the worst universe ever is just amusing to think about 😂

Also, KillTeam is a good way to get started with 40k without having to learn too many rules or drop a lot of money on models before you can play.
It's a great hobby, the social aspect is a huge draw for me. Some of the hobby spaces can be quite toxic, but there's also positive communities out there too.
Also, my son loves Tyranids too!

Pride before the fall. This book had probably the grossest set of rules relative to any Dark Angel release and my personal favorite.
Tyranids are a big fun army to collect - also a lot of conversion potential with the miniatures :)

Hey Erudwen, you said that you wanted to start a Tyranid Army. I basically have the Tyranid contents of 2 Leviathan Boxes that I thought I need, but dont really. If you only pay for the Shipping from Germany and the Box, I could send it to you. Most of it is built and some of it is painted with Airbrush, so you could strip the paint pretty easily with alcohol if you wanted
