    I have the identical bike. I don't believe this is relevant to even say. But I am a woman and it is, without a doubt, the perfect size for me to lift when dropped and enough power for me, as a starter bike. I have learned a lot from near misses. What to do or not to do. I think if I had a much larger, powerful bike, those near misses would surely have ended up being wipe outs. Which I have also had happen. Just the other day, right in a huge mud puddle. Knowing I wasn't hurt and that the bike wasn't hurt, I laughed my head off at myself. Covered, head to toe, in mud.
    Anyways, I watched your video about 6 times. The first time I think I even knew enough to try, from the way you described it, slowly and easily, made it so much easier to remember what to do. I did it!! First attempt at an oil/filter change. I am so proud of myself. I am a half-ass beginner and definitely a beginner when it comes to mechanical. I replaced the clutch lever and the tail lights myself. And now an oil change.
    I am wondering, do you think you would make more videos on fixing the Suzuki DR 200? I guess the bike your woman has would have to be in need of repair. Or maybe just show how to do it. I need to lube the pistons in the engine.To take off the spark plugs and lube inside. If you get this and the time to, would you let me know how to do that? Show me or even just tell me? That would be awesome. Also, any other information or help on maintenance would be friggen awesome. Take care and thanks again.

      Thanks Ashley. You don't need to "lube the piston in the engine" - Unless you are rebuilding the top end, which shouldn't be necessary for years. Jb.

    Perfect timing on this video as I just bought a 2008 200SE with my gf. Low mileage, great condition and fits her well at a very fair price. Should be a kick for her to learn on. I have a 1998 DR350SE for lighter use and around town as well.

    Thank you sir. Just picked up a 2013 dr200, first thing I like doing is changing the fluids. Looks like it should be an easy 15min job as long as none of the bolts were over tightened by the previous owner.

    Great info. I was hesitant to do the oil change but after seeing this video I'm on it. The local shop wanted $60 and had to leave it for 3 days……LOL

    hace un mes que compre la drx 200, modelo 2019, he tenido la xtz 250, la pulsar 200 ns y me quedo con la drx 200, si tuviera mas dinero compraria tambien la ns 200, que tambien me dejo muy satisfecho, pero en la vida no se puede tener todo, bueno el caso es que estoy conforme con el desempeño, calidad, y consumo de gasolina de la drx. si la compra, para competir y volar por autopistas, esta no es su moto, la moto es ideal para las empinadas y serpenteantes carreteras de la zona andina y las trochas. personalmente a mi no me importa que apenas alcance los 95 o 100 con parrillero, las luces son bastante buenas y alumbran bastante bien. Algo que si le criticaria seria el precio ( un poco mas de 4 mil USD ) , tambien le critico que no tiene calcomanias en el tanque, y su carenaje es muy sencillo, sinembargo le personalice las calcomanias al tanque, las tapas laterale, el carenaje, el sillin y otras cositas y ahora es la sensacion pordoquiera que voy.

    That was shamefully easy after watching your video. Now tell me how to tighten the chain. I've had my dr200se since 2005 with only 1600 miles. My first oil change. What a mess. Tomorow I ride the desert cities of Palm Springs. Gota love it. 61 and still having a good time on an enduro. LOL

    Great video. I have this bike and maybe put on a couple hundred miles a year. Would you still change the oil yearly?

    • @blancolirio
      @blancolirio  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks
      Yea, I would. You don't want that old acidic oil left in the case, even if not used much...it's only one quart. Do something to keep the fuel from gumming up in the carb too. The best solution is to ride more ;-)

  • @ashley0305
    @ashley0305 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I actually think the engine is seized. There was old engine oil in there. I did an emergency oil change. But I think it was to late. I read on Google about how to maybe repair a seized engine and lubing the pistons was one option. If the damage is not to significant. They said WD 40 would even work. What do you recommend? Just taking it to a mechanic? I turn er over and it just clicks. Nothing with it. Doesn't turn over. There's gas in er, got a boost. So the batteries fine. Just click and nothing.

    Hi, nice video. Between the xt225 and the dr200, which one are better, or they are pretty similar? Thanks.

    Hey there, awesome bike, I just picked up the same year/model actually! I had a question maybe you could answer, the bike had been sitting for about 9 years, only had about 75 miles on it in total when I got it, and the first thing I did was change the oil and the filter. Right after I changed the oil, I started her up and noticed a leak coming from the airbox tube... I think it's fuel, and am wondering why the oil change might have caused this? I made sure to get the oil right between the lines on the window. Any thoughts?? Thanks!

    • @blancolirio
      @blancolirio  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Chris Befeld evening Chris, it's fuel I'm sure...9 years is a long time. Overhaul the carb and replace all the jets.(See video) Check tank for rust. Verify proper operation of vacuum operated fuel shut off switch. she'll run like new!

    You forgot to clean the oil strainer under the cover where the oil drain plug is, probably pays to read your owners manual like I did.

    The oil level viewing, is that based on sitting on the kickstand, or vertical level (straight up'n'down) ?
    I love my 2019 DR200s, I bought it in 2020 at the Suzuki dealer(Canada), it only had around 1000 km on it, and had extended warranty left on it.

    Running regular motor oil doesn't affect your clutch function at all? I always figured you should run JASO rated oils for wet clutch applications. The only non motorcycle specific oil I've ever run was Rotella since it's JASO rated.

    • @blancolirio
      @blancolirio  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Shaun Daskam You're right, you should only run motorcycle oil to deal with high RPM and possible foaming.

      blancolirio Have you had any issues running Pennzoil in this bike? Love your channel by the way.

      Shaun Daskam No, I changed it again to regular motorcycle oil from the dealership.

      I use Castrol GTX 10W-40 in my '15 DR200S. Not the 4-stroke specific type. Just the same kind of oil I use in my truck. According to the manual, Castrol meets the minimum specs (SJ API rating and 10W-40). Never had any issues.

    mine looks like it has a crush washer on the drain plug. I changed the oil but now it is leaking oil around the plug. I know it isn't cross threaded. Do you need to replace that washer?

    • @blancolirio
      @blancolirio  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes, real easy. DONT cross thread.

    Hi I recently change my oil and filter but drained the old oil from the other drain plug next to that you have used, any problem with that?

    • @blancolirio
      @blancolirio  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jose Escalona Mmmm careful...did it go back together OK and run fine?

    • @joseescalona1881
      @joseescalona1881 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeap, I think that drain plug is for the transmission but anyway it drained all the oil like the other drain plug and when I refilled with the new oil I used the exact amount of oil that needs the bike with oil filter change (850m

    • @joseescalona1881
      @joseescalona1881 9 ปีที่แล้ว
