    It’s always a test of patients when you get the “new guy” at the yard…..He does not know you, & hardly knows the rules. He’s trying to show his boss he is vigilant on top of it all. Makes for a picky slow drop off. You handled that well Ben!

    Back in October I was scraping a few old desktop computers. 3 neighborhood middle school kids asked if the could help. We took the power supply apart. Had several bad capacitors. The ones looking pregnant. The removed the CPUs and cleaned off that paste. Lastly a bunch of hard drives. November they took apart two old laptops. Best part when one of their families PC died. They did the voltage check with my multimeter. Bad power supply. Replaced with a one of my spares. Fixed the problem. We are in Prescott Arizona USA

    I got a big ups from computer store e- waste, 1980w output. The batteries were charged and good so I've been using it as a power pack to run my drill and angle grinder pulling down a shed and fencing. Lasts well and beats listening to a hammering genset for a half day at a time, but it's a gruntfest to carry from my shed to the ute!

    Great prices! Love the gifts too, very generous and I can't believe it has been a year since we had the last video showing the copper water bottle, how is that possible!? Or maybe it wasn't a Christmas gift a year ago, I can't remember, but anyway the power bank note book is very cool! Oh how I wish I was a woman who could just chuck my whole power supplies in for a weigh in but I just have to process them for max value but that is because I have the time to do it, but if I had a buyer with good prices for complete ones then who knows, maybe I'd save all that processing time too! With your batteries what if you put them on a pallet inside your van when you're loading them. Then have the scrap yard lift it out instead of you stacking them by hand. Might save a step or two

    • @twisted2291
      @twisted2291 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If he hauled them in on a trailer (or flat bed truck) on a pallet they would lift it off, but not out of a van or bed of a pick up. They don't want to run the risk of possible damage to the van or truck.

    I used to be a scrapper here in the USA 🇺🇸 I would always cut all wires off all devices and would have cut all that wire on all those power supplies as they used to pay $1 a lb (2 Euro a kg I mean 😆) for insulated wire. You just had to cut off all the connectors. I used to make alot from that, even more than stripping/burning off the insulation which was not worth the time and effort. Of course I would keep the thicker guages of wire to strip/burn off the casing, but the thin stuff just got sold as insulated wire price.

      Computer wire goes in as low grade. Depending on the price it may be worth the time savings to put it in that way. My yard pays more for power supplies with the wire on them with that amount it evens out because of the weight you are getting paid for at only slightly less than low grade wire.

    It gets noticed. You bring in quality sorted product rather than how-you-goin' shambles and hurry up and pay me. They can tell if you're having a go. Not that I'm in this league but at the container deposit place they give me an extra docket now and then of a few extra bucks, which they might well do for anyone else, but they did note that mine is cleaned and correctly emptied and I procure stuff which no one else bothers with.
