Great video, thank you for showing how to play the rogue. I just started recently and was having a really hard time with the class. I wanted to play as a stealthy, dodgy guy and was getting my ass kicked. Your video was instructive and I'm glad I watched it before I rage quit. On the other hand, I'm having a blast with the warrior and I recommend that most new players should start with the warrior for their first run.
This was my frist game of this type and I was almost shocked how I enjoyed the challenge and learning from mistakes. I also liked that bosses had different stages related to how you damage them. The combat also felt quite real because just like in real life, your mistakes are greatly punished and cunning well rewarded. Edit: I spent a point into magic skill that creates a decoy, the shield bearers get occupied by attacking it while I circle around for a backstab.
Thanks for the video man, I actually skipped a few things the first time around, and only notied them after you pointed them out. One thing tough about the Gauntlet and magic in general. While I agree that a full on mage build does not work because of mana restrictions and the way a lot of the enemies fight, it can still be a massive help. A lot of the enemies (And bosses in particular) Have an incredibly small time window for you to actually attack them. It's not a big deal with small, fast weapons, because you'll get a few hits out once the windows open up. For heavier builds however, and especially if you're using the big weapons, it becomes incredibly hard to actually get a decent hit without taking one yourself. Especially the big shield guys later on recover so fast from their attacks and staggering, you can barely hit them once with a big attack. That's where the Gauntlet and the Spells really begin to shine. I'd say a Cleric build with a few points into Faith (So you can get stuff like Ram and are able to upgrade Rage) and then maxxing out on strength works really really well, as long as you're confident with dodging and blocking at the right moments. You can soften them up occasionally with a shot from the Gauntlet, and then move in for the kill. Even Bosses actually take a decent amount of damage. I havent tried a full on Faith build yet. I can _see_ it working, since there are a few weapons that scale with Faith (Looking at Clawfinger, which drops from the Worshiper), but I have no idea if the damage scales well enough to deal with the later enemies.
the story is fucking amazing people defeated there own god and then attempt to wipe evil from humanity entirely and dispite this seeming good it would disrupt the balance and so you have to kill your original ally and betray every one theres a wealth of side quests and 3 endings depending on how you use the rune of adyr
Hey Rhexx, a really good tip in future for the Worshiper boss: The adds gets spawned when he raises his hand in the air a couple of times on a timer from some blue skeletal orbs spawning around the area. If you manage to get to them and hit them or roll through them no add will spawn :)
Yeah I figured you could do something with the brambles that pop out of the floor, i just never really bothered with them. The adds were never a problem for me as long as I make sure to trigger the special right after they come out. I really did mess up in the battle though, horribly xD
You can use the second skill of the cleric to do damage as you get hit. Letting yourself get hit does reflects a good amout of damage and it heals you over time aswell.
You fail to mention that choosing a different "magic" type that doesn't match with the main classes actually gives them class variations. For example, choosing the Cleric with Rogue magic makes him an Executioner & their starting items are varied aswell. Any main class (Rogue, Cleric, Warrior) that starts with the blue Cleric magic all start with Prayer unlocked. Which is very useful, expecially for getting the 1st Wardens special boss weapon.
yeah I found that game quite challenging at first, and I have to admit it took me a while before actually getting the hang of it, and understanding the controls and leveling up and so on. But once I got used to it, I actually really enjoyed that game. I just beat up the annihilator in 4 minutes in my first try yesterday ;) while the first bosses took me an eternity....
If you use your clone to distract the First Warden it makes the no damage achievement more do-able. I did it. The verticals strike with Persistence is AWESOME
When that happens all you need to do is find a checkpoint and save the game then quit to desktop and start it up again. It usually happens to me once or twice per save file, mostly when I visit keystone citadel for the first time.
in regards to the special Persistance it took me about 30 mins of dying before i eventually got it, point to note is when he breaks his armour at each section if you are hit then it doesnt count. the special ability is only available while using it 1 handed like the Clawfinger special.
Locking onto enemies is the biggest issue in this game I find. In most cases it causes the camera to place itself at extremely difficult and awkward angles and it also follows enemies as they move backwards so because of the closed up areas I'll find myself falling off the map and dying because I've locked on to a enemy and attacked them after they've fallen off the map.
Actually, I completed this game without the use of a shield. I came from dark souls, where the use of the shield was taboo, and didn't realise how much easier the shield makes this game...
A faith based build is quite viable. No you cannot be a Gandalf type of magic user, but you can still get pretty close with the gauntlet. I wrote a guide detailing it on the Lord's of the fallen wikifextralife.
he said the shield slam does no damage but why is it doing 26 damage to me everytime. And he said to stay close to him but whenever im close its doing the 26 damage. someone help
Can see you are great at backstabs. Do you need to be to the right of their back or just behind them, sometimes I feel like I am right behind them and it only does a normal attack. And my second question, are you suppose to hold towards them as you press R1 (PS4) or can you just press R1 behind them and not need to hold towards them?
This game might as well be called Capes and Paldrons. Anyway, on the subject of faith builds being viable or not, they most certainly are. Gauntlet with flawless power runes and Stare can get you through the game easily. of course, you still need to spec into endurance because heavy armor is pretty much a necessity later on. Now, will a faith build beat a strength build any time soon? No way. Is it still viable despite being weaker than strength builds? Yeah.
I just want to now how to save and I don't get the two types where you level sp or the other one, so sometimes when I go by the crystals and I tap l3 sometimes the (red save circle?) comes up and other times not, I don't get it:/
You can definately beat the first boss without getting hit. Keep a medium distance and he will charge and smash his sword down strike 2 to 3 times while he's down and roll away repeat took me 6 repeats to kill don't get up in front of him and he wolnt do it. The sword smash with flame is awesome man

Bro. I've been playing the new LotF but it's been a long time since i played through the original game. i decided to look up a recap, and was not expecting to see a creator i associate with obscure dnd lore. feel like this video should be called "what they dont tell you about the rhogar"

Entirely depends on your character. I was playing paladin and was getting completely nuked by Commander until I dumped about 6 points into endurance and equipped my Fate axe, at which point he turned into a cakewalk. Commander is a damage check boss (small hit window, wide area attacks, high defense/evasion summons) so if you're below the damage output amount, it's going to hurt.

My biggest problem with this game is that you get really op real fast. The skills are way too OP with later on in the game allowing you to one shot or two shot"hard" bosses. In a way it's cool you get powerful and this unlike Dark Souls really is more power fantasy than death simulator. The thing is you ususally die mainly to cheap unblockable/dodgeable moves. So you feel too powerful. Of course this totally is optional like if you want challenge you can just opt out from leveling up. Overall really cool and good game eventually. And I liked it much more than what I expected after all I had heard of it before hand. Being referred to poor mans Dark Souls. That totally sells the game short. It's obvious it borrows a LOT from Souls series, but it also does enough to separate itself enough to be good on it's own merit. Voice acting is abysmal though :)

I am having a lot of issues just in general not having a shield and being squishy. If I try to do a faith build where i trade my shield for a gauntlet (which i know it don't necessarily have to) I get completely reckt by a myriad of fast enemies; and if I try to be a mobile caste with low armor it's the same just with the rest of the enemies. The only way in which i can find myself using it without feeling like am super gimping myself, is by being a normal tanky warrior with a couple of spells. But that's not a "spellcaster". If anything, I would say being a warrior is too easy and is spoiling me.
i am running a cleric with a faith endurance build i 2 shot most things due to the great axe i got from the graveyard boss(the special version btw which can be easily gotten with a cleric and quamar staff) bosses tend to take a little bit longer but they die quicker than usual due to me using punishment or shelter to return their dmg back to them7 it is a really good build which is allowing to go fairly quickly through the game
These fucking big ass shield dudes after the 2nd boss is wrecking me how tf was you one shotting them I try my best to sneak up on them and everything die every time to a 3 hit combo with nothing I can do I'm on ps4 how the hell do you do this
Magic ist Worth It but not the gauntlet. the best skill is phaseshift with a 132 Base DMG weapon you Deal 2k DMG to Bosses and 1 hit every enemy in the game

The worshipper boss is just like nito from dark souls
worshipper can kill those adds with his swing so just bring them to boss and dodge while he swing with scythe and they are dead ez
