OK, for those ho find my English hard to understand, what you need for this hack is a 14500 li-ion battery and charger, both pretty cheap on eBay, and a piece of wire. Shortcut the two contacts shown in the video and insert the battery in the slot in the position shown,first on the left. That's all.
Another nice thing is that you can use the other two slots to store two more batteries without being discharged and just swap them as the first one gets discharged.
why not just put everything in series? the benefits of li on are amazing but if you put them in series you'll have a laser level that will last a very long time. I don't know the mah on that battery you used but if you used another one you'd double the running time. and because you can pick up these batteries fairly cheap. ( good branded type and not knockoffs) you'll never have to buy cheap AA batteries again. question: does the laser line appear to be brighter than regular AA batteries? maybe a comparison video? but if anyone is going to do this id say do the batteries in series especially if you will be using a line laser alot or for long period of running time.
+Ivan Castillo I think you mean in parallel, in series would fry the laser. To make it work with 3 batteries means lot more work and would not be a simple hack.
+Ivan Castillo I did actually modified a portable speaker running on 3 AA batteries to work on three of these li-ion batteries in parallel and added a cheap chinese charging module.
